Still a thing; just added to one of the empty/not empty (had one invisible item) all Alex's loot; "This lockbox currently has 216 items (not including ammo, gifts, etc.), and can hold a max of 200"

It does still happen. I mentioned it in chats and someone said that it has always happened when you bulk drop 200+ items.

No, I don't agree. It might have been going on for a long time but at least when they first came out you couldn't do that. And no one reported anything until you did so if they knew about a bug and didn't report it....

Relocating this bug from Blood to Path (Mostly so I have them all in one spot).

Yet, when trying to deposit items:

"Lockboxes can only store a maximum of 200 items."

Retrieving items works just fine.
