Old Faces [Closed]

Post by Lancaster »

<Natsuko> *Details of the Dragon's nest. The building appears to be somewhat open but not fully, a green dragon resting on the side as a decor, and one on top of the building as if it was protecting it, somewhat of a gargoyle type. Kitteh could be seen through the green tinted window wiping them down and cleaning the area making sure to get everything picture perfect for opening day.

[ ‹Lancaster› Sometimes, Lancaster walked. He walked to clear his mind. He walked to shake the restlessness from limbs that no longer held the exponential energy they once held. He walked because one could not be cooped up in a pub for the rest of their days, and though he knew there were dangers out on the streets of Harper Rock, he was reckless enough to think he could handle them, despite his new and re-discovered fragility. A glance was spared for a building that looked newly renovated; he idly wondered why anyone would try open something new in a city that was crumbling from the inside out. He even offered a smile to the woman in the window -- his memory was still spotty, and the smile was mere courtesy rather than anything else, in case she had caught his curious, incredulous gaze.

<Natsuko> She glanced towards the gentleman that was walking past, and she thought to herself, "damn, he looks so familar" But of course she never saw him in that bad of shape before, she made her way outside and glanced at him again. "Lance? Is that you?"

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster had turned back to the footpath and the street in front of him, ready to cross the road and round the corner. He'd head back to the train station, rather than walking back over to Swansdale. A voice called out behind him and he turned. Lance? He shook his head. "No, Elliot. You must have me confused for someone else."

<Natsuko> "Ohhhhh" She shook her head.. " No, its what i use to call you, More or less by folks last name rather than first, rather rude on my end to do so. " She offered a polite smile " What have you been up too? "

[ ‹Lancaster› The laughter was low, amused. "I often introduce myself by my last name, but it's Lancaster, not Lance," he said. He'd come to a complete stop, now, turned to face the shorter woman. The weather was warm, but all he seemed to have in his closet were long-sleeved plaid shirts. He wore one of these now, rolled up to the elbows, his jeans faded and his hair swept back. His cheeks were flushed with the exercise -- he'd been walking for a good hour, now -- the blood pulsing beneath his skin. He didn't look worse for wear. He just looked... human. Windswept. "I'm sorry, I don't remember you..."

<Natsuko> "Oh, its been like ages since I last saw you maybe it was at the Voodoo lounge with my mother. " She nods. " Its Kitteh most call me that.. Or Natsuko which is my real name. Not much of a last name person, Dragomire. (SP)

[ ‹Lancaster› The barrage of names hits Lancaster like a wave. His past, stretched into so many years and months and weeks, events and people, and he's still not all there. There's a ticking in his brain, a twitch, an ice-pick plunged into the flesh before disappearing completely. He knew Dragomir, but he wasn't sure whether it was because he knew those who belonged to the group or because he'd just heard about them. Again, he shook his head. "Ages... I'm honestly... a lot's happened. I promise I'm not trying to be rude, but head trauma. My memory is shot," he said with a vague smile.

<Natsuko> "Oh dear. What did you do? Or was it someone that did this to you? " She checked him over once or twice and frowns some, she notice he wasn't pale as he use to be. Well, other than that you do seem to be healthy... "

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster wasn't in the habit of wanting to tell the story to strangers but despite everything he had gone through, he still couldn't lie. He couldn't brush the question aside and call it an uninteresting story that she wouldn't want to hear, because frankly, it probably was interesting to a few. He straightened his shoulders, squared them against the truth that would inevitably come rolling from his tongue. "I lost all purpose and and my mind attacked itself. I lived in the sewers for a few months, as feral as everything else down there," he said. That, at least, was how he'd lost his memory.

<Natsuko> "Damn, that had to be rough. I am glad you are okay and such, even though we hadn't talked much but from what I did once maybe twice and from others talking of you, you seem like a down to earth type of guy. "

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster cocks his head to the side. "Others. Who?" he asked. The now-sorcerer's circle of acquaintances was small. So small he could count them all on two fingers. Those who'd missed him while he was gone, those whom he had met since: Bjorn, Charlotte, Roxette, Camden... Those, at least, were the ones he saw most often. There was a woman called Tierney, Amalea, whom he'd spoken to once, a couple of times. Alexandrea... well. That, he figured, was a lost cause.

<Natsuko> "Oh, this was a few years back actually, mom said you were a down to earth guy and such.. I dont think I heard anyone else mention of you other than her" She nods her head slightly

[ ‹Lancaster› "I don't know who your mother is," Lancaster said. He glanced up at the building they were standing in front of. "What are you up to here...?" he asked, searching for a way to change the topic. He'd never been comfortable talking about himself.

<Natsuko> "Mortll " She said softly, but anyway, its been nice seeing you again.. please dont be a stranger will ya? "

[ ‹Lancaster› He shook his head. He didn't recognise that name, either. And nor did she answer his question -- maybe she didn't want him to know what the building was, or why she was opening it now, of all times. Or why she was helping, anyway. "Sure. I'm still at the pub," he said, cocking his head to the south. "Lancaster's. If you're ever in the mood for a drink. If you can..." he said. Was she a vampire? He hadn't stopped to wonder.

<Natsuko> "ahh yes you have that bar called Lancasters down the road away don't you? I recalled that been in there a few times as it was... when I first arrived here. "

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster nodded. "It's close to the outbreak and it's quieter, these days. But still there," he said. People didn't like to wander into the zombie zone to get a drink, and nor could he properly blame them.

<Natsuko> "Sure, I'll stop by even if i have to kill a few zombies along the way. " She laughed softly. "Lets hope they just stick in that general part of town and not have a full blown fall out of sorts. " She nods again.

[ ‹Lancaster› He shrugged. "Who knows. The rift could keep widening and they could spread, in which case I wouldn't blame the government if they wanted to nuke the place," he pondered. Why was he even still living here? Surely they'd give the human population notice if such a thing were to happen, though. "The city in general seems to be in flux. Which is why I was curious about this place..." he said, motioning to the new building.

<Natsuko> "ohh, this old thing? " She laughs. " I purchased it a while back was just going to make it my place alone with nothing else, but then I've decided well what the hell, turn it into a place where you can shop and live... and have the best security there. " She nods.

[ ‹Lancaster› "Which is noble," Lancaster agreed. "But what if the zombies spread and the government shuts this whole place down? It'll be a waste..." he said. The tone wasn't judgmental, but more sympathetic. He had buildings of his own; the pub, for example, with its backpackers joint up top. If it got any quieter, he might have to close it down. A future he didn't like to think about.

<Natsuko> "Oh, if that happens it happens, its something we can't control. But no matter, I got my nest built up, and nothing to worry bout if i end up losing this building. I can always move to another town close by. " Shrugs some.

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster, too, had a fair bit of money. It wasn't really the money that he was worried about losing if the town should go under. It was nostalgia, almost. Though he'd tried to run away from it, he'd ended up coming full circle. "I guess that's an option," he said with a smile.

<Natsuko> She nods to him and gave a smile. " Oh by the way have you checked out Chalktown lately? I was lucky enough to purchase a Yatche there. "

[ ‹Lancaster› "Chalktown?" he asked. "No. I don't leave Harper Rock much," he said. "I have a boat, too, but it's down by Rock Bay Docks," he said. The boat, unlike the pub, was getting a lot of us. Zombies couldn't get the parties out on the river. It was a safe little refuge, at least for one night.

<Natsuko> "ahh, I wish I could have got one there, but seems that place is all bought up. But, I do check on it from time to time. I just don't like sleeping in one spot for no more than two nights... I move around. " She grumbles something about hunters

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster's hearing isn't as good as it once was. He was still getting used to the dulled senses, almost like there was cotton-wool in his ears. So he didn't catch the grumbling. "That's... I mean, you wouldn't feel like you have a home..."

<Natsuko> "Well, all my places are homes, I just dont stick around very long in one of them... its more safe that way at least thats how I feel you know? " She idly dusted off one of the plants there which was fake of course and dust collects on them. " Why must we live in a world full of dust? " She said quietly.

[ ‹Lancaster› "Is that a literal question?" he asked, glancing at the plant which he now realised was fake. Why fake? He didn't ask the question. "I mean, I get it. But I'll be found no matter where I go so may as well just build up the defences in that one place and stay," he said with a shrug.

<Natsuko> "hmmm, " she glanced up at him and the smiles. " Who knows maybe I might make this my home stay or the yatche in chalktown.. living on the water hearing the waves splash around is a more relaxed atomosphere then hearing loud cars and sirens and god knows what goes on in the city life, and as for security, that is my job, its what I do for a living. " She gave a slight grin.

[ ‹Lancaster› "I live where I work. It's not a bad set up," he said. The attic was small, but that didn't matter. Lancaster wasn't one who craved luxury. Too much space for one person was unnecessary and gluttonous.

<Natsuko> "Oh, that's handy. One would say I do the same as well, I mostly deal with security as in Cameras, and Electronics and the likes.. " Of course she didn't mention the fact she is a hacker at that or a thief. " She gave a slight grin. " If you ever need your security updated by all means give me a call. " She reached into her pocket and pulled out a tiny card that had her name and number on it, nothing much else nor was it one of those fancy business cards ." Or if you know anyone who needs one set up.. " She added.

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster took the card and nodded his thanks. "Thank you. I do already have someone who helps with that kind of thing, but I'll keep it in mind," he said, tucking the card into his pocket.

<Natsuko> She nods, " Doesn't always hurt to have a second look at the job they did to make sure it was done right... " She gave a nod to him. "Well, I should head back inside and finish this work up and get some rest. It was nice seeing you again Lancaster. You take care and dont be a stranger, eh? "

[ ‹Lancaster› Lancaster laughed. "It's all done right," he said. He trusted Charlotte, and she'd not done him wrong thus far. Even Bjorn, if ever he required traps, would help. Even if he needed a slap over the head every once in a while. "I'll see you around," he said with a slight wave.

<Natsuko> She smiles, well at least she got him to laugh, said as he walked off.
