(aprox 2 hours later)

*knock,knock,knock*

A closed eye twitched a bit at the annoying sound that was breaking the silence. Zodiac was hovering about a foot above the couch. Caught between vampire ‘sleep’ and deep thought, the gypsy always found levitating a calming balance point. Floating was a good thing. Without the feeling of gravity pulling at one-no matter how relaxed you could be-it let the mind and the spirit feel unhindered and able to reach out.

*knock,knock,knock*

There is was again. Probably someone knocking on the wrong door. She didn’t want to be bothered. She had too much in her head to sort out now. Crissy’s revelation earlier hit like a hammer. All the time they had flittered back and forth on that subject and now, suddenly, she was serious?

How serious? She showed that much already.

How serious was the gypsy was the question now.

*knock,knock,knock*

She literally growled as her eyes snapped open. Zodiac sat up, stood up, stepped over the back of the couch and drifted to her door. Oh yes, the banging was on her door. It wasn’t Crissy. She knew that much. The woman had a key to this particular dwelling and she wasn’t that stupid not to use it. What kind of idiot would be banging away at this time of the morning.

She unlocked the door and yanked it open in one, swift motion. She imagined she made quite the sight to the girl from the Teahouse. Floating in the air, eyes flashing red, her hair also still lifting upwards from levitating.

”WHAT?” she screamed into the young vampire’s mind, causing the girl to flinch and recoil.

“Sorry, boss. Sorry!” she began to stammer as she held out the bit of paper. “The woman you was with in the Teahouse paid me to get this to you ASAP.”

Zodiac looked down at the note, then back at the girl. Her hand extended and the girl placed it in her hand. ”Get back to work,” her voice was now back to whisper quality. ”It will be closing time soon and you are part of clean up.”

“Yes ma’am,” the girl agreed as she took off down the hallway. Zodiac watched her run before closing and relocking the door. Rather than reach out with her mind, she sends a letter? How many places did the waitress go to searching for her? Must have been a hellava tip.

That actually was so Crissy.

She returned to her lounging on the sofa. As her body slowly lifted up into the air again, she began to read the note.

… holder of the diamond kitty

That made her laugh. She remembered finally getting that bit of jewelry (finally!) away from the woman. Was a bizarre little scene if she recalled right. It sat in a box in a safe at Pandora’s. Not the company one, but one where she kept mementos of special times in her life safe.

She continued to read. Absorbing every word and nuance and thinking.
Some day I'm gonna be happy. I don't know when just now

One good thing about being an Allurist, you could still enjoy the food and drink. Tonight she was going to abuse that privledge, after leaving Zo's she headed over to the handlebar, because she did not want this happening in the Metronome Club, and ordered 25 shots of whiskey. Anyone who was around could grab one, but the mass majority went down her throat. After what she just experienced with Zo... well just one more person walking out on her. What more was she really going to expect.

Everyone did. Aurelius did, Quoth did, now Zo.... it was her curse. If someone could **** things up it was her. She needed to be made famous for it instead of looking like some actress from America. What a useless thing, looking like an actress. Well, chalk it up for another failure in the unlife.
