Feral Fright

Post by Storyteller »

Narla
sprints past, nearly tripping over her own feet.

Jesse Fforde
watches, bemused. Wondering what exactly she's sprinting from.

Narla
skids, catching a blur of movement in the alley to her right. She makes a noise--something between a squeak and a gasp--and pivots back around to dash off to the same place she came from. Just as she makes a turn, a feral vampire launches out of the alley, its claws grazing the clothing of her cardigan, and smacks into the wall of store front.

Narla
's bookin' it while the vampire recovers.

Jesse Fforde
is smoking a cigarette out the front of Serpentine; he has a client in half an hour, he has time to waste. Inside, there's no smoking allowed. The smoke soothes his throat, somewhat lessening the itch of his thirst. He says nothing as the girl slams into the glass nearby; just watches, still. Dubious.

Narla
pushes herself a little too harshly forward, causing her topple over. She scrambles on hands and feet to gain ground again, but by then the feral creature is gaining ground on her with its frightening speed... or at least, frightening to Narla. She glances back at the speedy manhunter for just a blink and instantly regrets it. The very second she looks away, another feral leaps out from behind a truck and nails her to the ground. The first is quick to join. Narla struggles against the gnashing of fangs in her face, whimpering and screaming, kicking and twisting, but it does little but stall the fanged chomp into her defending arm and her side.

Jesse Fforde
sighs heavily, smoke streaming from his nostrils. It wasn't all too long ago he'd come across a blood thief in a similar predicament -- up against an enemy too strong for her, or perplexing in its newness. There was the temptation to walk inside, to ignore it -- but he couldn't have another death near his business. People would stop coming. If they feel safe in the area... he stalks forward, a swift kick delivered to the feral on top of the girl. It stumbles off of her, before turning on Jesse. Jesse, who smirks, exciteable, whose fingers morph into claws, who takes out the feral with his bare hands. Because he can.

Narla
drags herself onto her knees, bleeding from the bite in her arm and the tear in her waist. The woman observes in horror as the stranger that just helped her grows out claws and tears up the monster that attacked her. It could be easily read in her eyes. That man is the bigger fish. He was absolutely going to eat her too. She doesn't move for that exact reason.. there was no point in it. Narla just. Stares. Unable to say another word.

Jesse Fforde
takes care of the second feral asshole only with shadows; something he often thought he'd inherited from his sire, as it wasn't his natural path, but one which was now like second-nature. The thing crumpled soon, much like the first -- both dispersing to ash. What was leftover was a wounded and bleeding human girl who could no doubt see the hunger in Jesse's face, her blood a tantalising lure, fuel for the insatiable thirst and frenzy. She'd no doubt feel the menacing aura, radiating from the vampire, like a giant 'RUN AWAY' alarm bell. "You should go inside and get a drink..." he said, mostly growl, husky and primal. One of the bartenders would, hopefully, offer to clean the girl up...

Narla
doesn't question or oppose his suggestion. She shakily stood upright, still watching him with a clear fear in her eyes. She holds the gash in her side as tightly as she can and winces only the slightest bit as she rises onto her feet, leaving a large smudge of the sweet smelling red mess on the ground. The pain registered as a sting, but adrenaline only lasts so long.. and she was bleeding pretty badly. Narla quickly shuffles away from Jesse for the building, glancing over her shoulder in case he changed his mind...
