Could it be due to name changes? I've changed at least 2 character's names in the past half year/year.

If we're talking forum, then I don't believe so. But I could be wrong. Yeah it's a possibility.

Since foe-ing, or refoe-ing it seems to have stuck (though I added some to my 3 newer accounts today).

The friends and foes database table tracks user ID, rather than username. So I don't see how a name change could have been responsibly for it. Even the systems which track the username also store the ID too, so changing names shouldn't do anything serious on the forum.

So I'm stumped.
