In the street outside the junkyard, a very large person sits on the grass and drinks from a bottle in a brown paper bag. A grey hoodie, subtly checked, sits zipped-up on her body, and she has a blue-and-white Leafs snapback pushed far back on her crown. Obviously it is dangerous to be out this late at night. That's kind of what AJ is counting on. A baseball bat stands between her knees, its head resting on the ground. She keeps her eyes open-- looking out for cops, soldiers, zombies, people, vampires in disguise as people, mad dogs. Anything and anyone to capture her interest. It's a scary world out there. Somebody has to look out for the little guy. Anyway one of the old ladies still living in the trailer park yelled at her until she left.
Some people don't appreciate when they're being looked out for. Or maybe she just didn't like the way AJ was eyeing her mailbox while holding that bat.

Magic was, as far as Gray was concerned, one of the cooler discoveries that went along with being a vampire (or really just supernatural in general). He’d been trying for a little while, to wrap his head around some of it, by reading things on CrowNet (which was not at all a reliable source of information, it turned out). Alas, he was a visual learner, one of those people who needed to see something or needed to be able to touch it with his hands to really get it. So in an effort to acquaint himself a little more with the metaphysical, he’d decided to visit a magic shop. The place was hidden in plain sight, and looked a bit like one of the dozens of abandoned, poorly maintained buildings in Harper Rock. However, when one stepped through the doors, the atmosphere itself seemed to grow heavier. There were any number of items on display, and the man running the show assured him they were all reasonably priced. Of course, Gray knew immediately that meant the guy was going to try and rip him off.
It took him some time to go through the collection, but he ultimately settled on a little fox ear which he tucked into the pocket of his jeans after sweet talking the proprietor into giving him a discount (read as: He complimented the man for everything except his receding hairline and the intrusive eye sore which were his heavily yellowed teeth).
Moments later and he was exiting onto the street, only a short distance from the junk yard. It seemed he had to head that direction to get to the public transit.

Immortality was proving to be quite the blessing for the Dane, if one chose to overlook the utter lack of hearing and self-preservation skill. Of course, that was no easy feat. It was because of her predicament, that she often found herself bounced between those in their small family. It was often Jericho or Adley she found herself attached to, but tonight, something about Grayson’s vibrant spirit had her choosing to follow him. Thankfully, she was disappointed.
Waiting for him outside of the small magic shop, she arched a brow as he emerged, hands empty, a sight she would have found odd had she not been reading the shopkeepers thoughts. ‘You could have gotten that for free, had you showed a little skin. I swear, you about gave that poor man a heart-attack smiling at him like that. You would do Adley proud,’ she teased as she easily looped her arm through his. Without a second thought, her fingers found their way into his shirt, and she curled the material into her small fist as they continued their stroll.
Being unable to hear was the one thing she kept her from truly enjoying the gift that Adley had bestowed upon her. While other senses heightened, it seemed she fell deeper into the silence. At first, she had been able to hear a ringing – but over time, it have grown faint, until it had disappeared, leaving her completely and utterly alone within her own mind. It was only when her sister’s voice broke through the void that she found any comfort, and lately, the girl had been so wrapped up within her work, she had been scarce. If it hadn’t been for Grayson, she might have wandered out on her own that evening, in hopes of finding something – anything – to ease her from her utterly bleak existence. It was the melodrama of her own thoughts that had her laughing outright, her mind quickly turning from Grayon’s – to Jericho’s.
He was the dark one of their group, choosing to shroud himself in shadows and avoid the light – and the public – as much as he could. Tonight, however, he wasn’t going to have a chance. Without missing a beat, she danced easily into his thoughts, though her voice was quiet as to not startle him. She still wasn’t sure how comfortable he was with her being there.
‘You’ve stayed in that cave long enough. Come on, come join Grayson and I. You’re missing out on all the fun.’
OOC NOTE: Lakenna is deaf, and any speech she makes is mindspeak, so unless she's speaking directly to your character, it won't be heard.
