Between Amalea officially momma bearing her, and Every threatening to lock her in a hospital, Locryn hadn’t gotten the chance to go out and about often. Silas, the dead vampire whom she talked with yet could never see, was often like an alarm system that brought the hurricane right to her. It was an annoying system, really, but it had been obvious from the lack of conversation from her mistress that something was going on. Every hadn’t been very talkative when she’d returned from the shadow realm.
She often kept her thumbnail near her mouth, something that the thrall had noticed happened when she was stressed. She’d been doing a lot of pacing, too. It was something that Locryn noticed as she sat comfortably on the plush couch, watching her without words. “I sent the invitations that you asked for, including the alteration to the one. The emails that you wrote down should have worked, right?” Her fingers moved to scratch at the bandage where stitches remained underneath. Although she had perfect clarity of everything that had happened right up to the blood draining from her system, the two hadn’t spoken much about the throne room.
In some ways, she supposed Every just didn’t want to bring it up. That she’d almost died. In other ways, Locryn suspected that she was glad that she’d had the woman whom Every called Theodosia summon her when she did. It hadn’t been until afterwards that Every had revealed to Locryn that she didn’t notice that Amalea had become unhinged. Not until after she’d thought it all through, that she’d had time to process everything after she’d died. “I should have known. I should have told you take her home. I should have ordered you to take her home, Locryn.” The regret had been there, but she doubted that the shadow would ever vocalize it out loud.
Locryn didn’t mind helping that she’d allowed the other human to live. She’d preferred it, really, as she knew had Amalea died, Locryn would have followed. If not by the ancient vampire on the throne or the approaching guards, by Every once she’d returned from the shadow realm. As it was, the thrall was still on the mend from the last time she’d been in the hospital and once more on that stupid medication she’d been forced to take. “Do you think they’ll listen?” She questioned, unsurprised when she found that she was ignored. It was a common thing, really.

Re: Bullet In A Bonfire [Invite]
In the time that she’d returned to Harper Rock after once again landing in the shadow realm, Every had become aware of several things. She no longer found Ariadne to be respectable - especially given the fact she’d ran to Micah. She’d suspected that the mystic would try to save her own ***, but she didn’t expect lack of information being a critical component to such. Harper Rock was indeed the center of a zombie apocalypse due to the rift opening. It could be fixed, but a witch hunt was likely to begin. Her thrall had been severely injured, killed almost, and luckily had been taken care of by someone Every knew she could trust. Time had proven to be the best way to show what could have happened, how it would happen.
Her childer, Jayden and Bjorn had been told the truth. Micah, her sire, had been told the truth. Every wasn’t one to lie, not when she had anything to gain from a situation. She didn’t ever see the point, and as time had moved on, the idea of survival being her main focus shifted back into play. There was a binder sitting on the table of her cabin where she and her thrall had been tucked away for some time now. She’d done everything that she could to prevent tracking from those who were likely to do so - the idea of re-teaching herself how to ritual in the back of her mind. But, for now, she knew traps and elaborate planning would do.
It was under the ruse of a bonfire that Every had invited them, her friends. She’d had Locryn send out invites that had said it would to be a good time to get away from everything that was happening and be in fair company - which was true. The bonfire was going to happen either way. There was a few warm drinks for the humans invited and her thrall simmering away on the stove as Every wasn’t sure what they would drink, and fresh blood in a crockpot on the counter. Out of any of her properties, she’d decided the cabin out in the middle of the woods would be the best for it to be held. She knew some of her neighbors were vampires, but she hardly saw them. She hardly even heard them. The yards were far enough apart that she sometimes forgot they were even there.
Her dogs had been left with Jayden, whom she’d already spoken with. Bjorn would be busy with the club, but things had been discussed with him in regards of the evening topic. She knew where both men stood and that was fine with her.
At nine-thirty, the shadow went outside to light the fire. The flames started slow at first before beginning to steadily leap against the dry wood. A few wooden benches were placed around the fire pit, enough space permitted between each. Her hands were stuffed into the pockets of her hooded sweatshirt afterwards, a frown of consideration playing across her lips as she mentally went through her checklist. After a moment, she trekked back inside to collect a set of notecards that she’d written up and tucked them into the back pocket of her jeans before reaching out mentally to her childer. “Either you get here yourselves before the last one arrives, or I will summon you, myself. And it means pants, mu'dak.”
As she turned slightly, her hand moving to rest against her hip, she found Locryn walking out of the cabin careful not to trip. She’d already ripped her stitches once. Finally, Every answered, “If they don’t listen, that’s fine. I just want to set some stuff straight and pitch an idea.” A shrug of her shoulder was given, the brunette then eyeing her thrall. “Go put on a jacket before you catch pneumonia. Don’t forget you can give that **** to me.” The human sighed and went back inside without argument.
