Missing... [Aaron & Flynn]

Post by Raven Talius »

Raven listened to the Metronome Club as it thumped and thrummed with the life that danced and weaved their way through the interior of the building. The female was leaning against the bar while brown eyes shifted from one human body to the next. She guessed that there would be the occasional vampire body amongst those bodies, but it was the luring heartbeats that drew the serial killer in. It was the only music that mattered to the shadow, regardless of what the DJ was playing, she was only here for the thudding heartbeats.

Thump, Th-Thump, Thump.

The DJ’s music thrummed through their blood, making them dance more which only made their hearts sing as adrenaline pumped through their veins. Drugs and alcohol were the main causes, but a few people were high on the pheromones that some people emitted as they rubbed up against each other and their hands disappeared under clothing. A slow smirk caressed her lips as she watched the dancers and lifted her drink up to her lips to finish it off. The night was young and Raven was in no hurry, at least not yet. No one was drunk enough for her to even consider a potential victim. Hell, she may not even walk out with a victim in mind, however, she would feel the urge to kill grow even stronger if she didn’t. Slowly, she placed the empty glass upon the bar and shifted her position so then to push away from the bar.

Her steps took the woman into the crowd and she weaved amongst the bodies as an occasionally hand would slide along her *** or she would drag her own hand down along the back or chest of the occasional body. The best thing about clubs, was that people were often there with a group of people and it made it that much more of a challenge to separate a potential prey away from the herd. However, tonight, no one really stood out to her and so she slipped through the crowd towards the exit where she finally made her way out into the open snowy night. A sigh caressed her lips then as she patted her coat pockets and fished out a lighter and a packet of cigarettes. With a wave to the bouncer who was letting in another human, the vampire walked away from the entrance towards the alleyway beside the building.

Upon entering the dark alley, a bird swooped down to land upon her right shoulder and Raven chuckled. ”Red.” The woman acknowledged the red-tailed hawk as she pulled a cigarette free and tucked the packet back into her coat pocket only to slide the cigarette butt between her lips. Lifting the lighter, she struck the ignition so then a flame burst free to light the cigarette’s end. The woman took a drag as she pocketed the lighter and her right hand lifted to pull the cigarette from her lips just as she sighed and leaned her left shoulder against the brick wall beside her, while brown eyes watched the entry to the alley. Too many people had followed her down an alley, hoping to get the jump on the vampire, but they had all failed. She wasn’t considered to be a monster for no reason.

Red’s beak slid through her red and black hair as she listened to the night and the pumping sound of the music. It was just another night to the woman. Another night in an endless cycle of boredom and loneliness. Being alone was something that she had gotten used to though and the boredom? Well, that was simply from nothing exciting the woman just yet. Perhaps the night would present something that may have her laughing with the potential of a kill in sight.

The file had been sitting on his desk for about a week, maybe two. The edges we rough and folded, probably due to lack of care on officer Lawson’s behalf. He had left town after news of monsters showing up outside of the Quarantine Zone started spreading, and Aaron couldn’t blame him. For anyone living in Beta Towers, life was about to get increasingly difficult. Of course, life had to go on, and so did work. Lawson’s files were share out amongst some of the senior officers trapped in junior ranks due to lack of funding, Aaron being one of them.

Talius, Dean. He read the name on the spine of the file, he had glanced at it on two separate occasions today, once after his morning coffee, and again just before lunch. Tomorrow’s another day. But this person is missing now, Aaron thought. He looked at the clock, and around at the empty cubicles. Most of the day shift had gone home, and the night crew were trickling in. Aaron considered palming the case off to one of them.

A pang of guilt struck him low in the gut. He picked up the file and pulled the cover open.

The file contained a number of documents, statements from Dean’s parents who had reported the man missing. Medical history, personal details, bank accounts, contact details, addresses. A knot formed in the centre of Aaron’s brow as he shuffled through the pages and discovered an old restraining order. He scanned the black print, somehow smaller at this time of night, and realised it had been requested by Dean’s sister, Raven Talius.

Reading on, Aaron also unearthed a statement by the mother, who had accused her daughter of having something to do with Dean’s disappearance, going as far as to say that she suspected Raven might have killed her son, highlighting a history of mental illness. Aaron combed through the file, but found no statement included for Raven Talius.

“Odd,” he said. Had Lawson failed to interview the woman, or was he unable to bring her in for questioning?

Aaron picked up the phone and dialed the number provided for Raven’s contact. It was a cell-phone number, and the man thought it unlikely she would answer, but knew it was probably his best chance. Failing that he would need to track down an address, and probably even go as far as to have her bank records subpoenaed.

“Raven,” he said, surprised anyone had picked up. “This is officer Loch from the local police department. I know it’s late, I was hoping you could come in for questioning regarding the disappearance of your brother, Dean.”

The station was not hard to find, everyone seemed to know its location since the outbreak of the virus was made public. “Just ask for Loch at the reception.”

It was odd for anyone who wasn’t her sire to call her, in fact no one actually called her. When was the last time had she even heard the bland ring tone? Not for well over a year even though she carried the damn thing. No one ever called her unless they wanted something, the woman didn’t even get a phone call to see if she was alive or dead, not even when she had disappeared from Harper Rock for a time. Raven grumbled softly under her breath as she pulled the phone out of her coat pocket and glanced at the caller ID. It certainly wasn’t someone that she knew at all, the woman surmised and figured that she better pick it up, just in case it was one of Jesse’s childes calling to tell Raven that their limbs had been chopped off. ”What?” The shadow said as she held the mobile to her ear and heard the surprise in the male’s voice on the other end.

Slowly, her lips turned upwards into a smirk as the man identified himself as an officer. Oh how delicious, so her parents had filed a missing person’s report and now the shadow got to dance with an officer. He sounded cute, maybe she could lead him on for a while. ”I’ll be there shortly,” Raven said and hung up only to pocket her phone. A phone that probably wouldn’t ring for another year or so. A chuckle parted her lips as she fished out a piece of beef jerky and handed it to Red. The hawk took it and flew up onto the roof-tops once more while the shadow shrugged from her position on the wall, only to begin walking to the police station after she had toed her cigarette into the pavement.

Whatever questions that this officer Loch could throw at her, she was sure that she could handle him. Even then, there was no shred of evidence, even digital that could link her to Dean’s so-called ‘disappearance.’ It was for that precise reason why she mostly avoided the digital age, she didn’t even keep a Facebook profile. They were all fake on there anyway. Fake people who pretended to give a damn and she wasn’t buying into it. No, the woman was old school, not even her bank could link her to Dean, because she rarely used it, she only used it to store her money. It was why she was such an efficient serial killer and why she could simply disappear if she wanted to. Which she had done twice before, only to return for the sake of her sire and the rare friends that she had. No, she was more than certain of herself and more than certain that Dean’s case would forever go unsolved. A thought which made her chuckle with glee.

Yes, she had killed Dean and yes, she had dismembered him, and yes, the shadow had buried all of his body parts in different parts of Canada. And now? Now her brother’s case would go unsolved. It was the ultimate punishment that she could have inflicted upon her brother and her parents and it made her happy! Something which was rarely felt, but divine retribution had finally fallen upon those that had wronged her all those years ago and now she felt like she could conquer anything. The very idea made her giddy, far giddier than getting blood drunk.

After a time, she shouldered through the front door to the police station and she grinned flashing her permanent fangs at the receptionist as she leaned upon the desk. ”I believe an officer Loch is expecting me in regards to my twin's disappearance.” The shadow said with a smirk that rested upon her lips. Oh she was expecting some rather interesting fun tonight and she was going to welcome it with open arms.

Another fact finding mission, that’s all these interviews were. Aaron had never gotten used to the adrenaline that plagued him when he knew he was about to meet a stranger for the first time, especially if there was a possibility that information gathered during the meeting had the potential to save a life. Anxiety was a strange thing. Aaron often pondered its usefulness.

He had been trained to conduct interviews using elements of the Reid technique, an accusatory method that relied on an officer being able to read body language to determine whether or not someone was telling the truth. A flawed method at best. A guilt presumptive process, for example, did not work on a lot of youths or individuals suffering from some form of mental illness and, if the report was anything to go by, Raven Talius had been flagged.

Any evidence gathered here tonight Aaron knew would hold up in court, but would he be able to sleep at night if someone was wrongly accused? Without DNA, witnesses, and a confession, officer Loch didn’t like the odds.

He spent the time between the phone call and being summoned to reception to set up the interrogation room. Aaron made sure there was a fresh memory card in the camera. He also made sure that the camera was plugged into the wall to ensure that it didn’t cut out if the battery happened to run low mid-interview. He checked the audio and played back a short clip of him speaking into the camera with the date and time.

Sergeant Mercia knocked on the door and said he had overheard a lady at the front desk mention the constable's name. Aaron got up and tucked the file under his left arm. He hadn’t given himself the time to prepare as thoroughly as he might usually prefer, but time was always of the essence with these missing persons cases.

“Miss Talius,” he greeted the woman from the doorway, one he took up.

Aaron was tall, ridiculously tall (one hundred and ninety-three centimeters), stocky and, looked like the kind of guy who didn’t tolerate any ********. He stood in his uniform pants, combat boots (which made him appear even taller than he was), and a short-sleeved, dark dress-shirt with his rank displayed on the shoulders. Both arms were heavily tattooed from shoulder to elbow, the word G R I T hidden in a labyrinth of ink on his right arm.

“Right this way,” he said, the pitch of his voice low, plangent.

He turned and led Raven to the room he would conduct the interview in. “Take a seat,” he told her. “Can I get you anything to drink?” He then asked, seconds after switching the camera on.

There was an unopened bottle of water on the table to Raven’s right. In front of Aaron the file rested closed on the table where he had put it down next to a half cup of coffee that had long gone cold. He had taken up drinking coffee after trying to quit smoking for the third time in two years. He couldn’t decide which habit he hated more, but knew which did the least for his health.

After stating the details of the chase, reading from the front cover, Aaron looked across at Raven. “Could you please state your full name, address, and date of birth for the record.” He paused to give Raven time to do this before following up with his first question. “Miss Talius, can you tell me about the last time you saw your brother Dean?”

Raven watched as men moved behind the desk and she pulled her phone out to send a quick message to Flynn and Azraeth. ’Twin went ‘missing,’ so an officer is ‘questioning’ me. If, I’m arrested, the shadows are rather mysterious don’t you think? ; )” The shadow chuckled as she sent the little message off and pocketed her phone. Honestly, the woman wasn’t sure if they would understand it or not, but if anything, she was sure that Azraeth would understand what she meant about the shadows. Vampires didn’t play by the laws of mortals. However, this game? This game was almost like the one that she played with death before she became a vampire and she was playing a dangerous game with the law right now. Either way, she knew that with her brother’s disappearance, she would be their prime suspect. The woman had motive after all.

The man that came out to greet her, was tall and, admittedly, actually kinda cute in his uniform. One could say that he filled it out rather well and a smirk curved her lips as she followed the man into his interrogation room. The room, was something that someone could call a box, a box to contain a criminal and deep down, she was one. Even before she had become a vampire, she was a criminal, after-all, she didn’t become a street thug for nothing. The cage fighting that she had been apart of, was illegal to say in the least and death was how a lot of people exited the cage. So blood had covered her hands way before she had been turned. This box was similar to a cage.

Quietly, she seated herself, propped her heeled, booted feet up onto the chair that sat next to her; a chair that would have been reserved for her legal aid and proceeded to ignore the man as he offered water. The shadow had fangs, so why would she drink water? Raven could, but for the moment, she didn’t want this man to know about that fact. Her hands dug into her pockets and pulled out a box of cigarettes and a lighter. ”Just call me Raven, like you did on the phone,” The vampire said as she adopted a bored and relaxed expression. This, would be a battle of wits. ”My name, is Raven Talius, my birth date is the twenty-seventh of March, nineteen-eighty nine. As for my home address, I don’t have one. I’m homeless, for the record.” Which wasn’t a lie. The woman didn’t. She technically slept on random couches, all to save money. She had her eye on something bigger than a rental room or small apartment.

A brow was perked as the officer asked the question that he really wanted to ask, ”You know what happened when I saw my brother. It should be in that file of yours when I filed a restraining order against him, when he tried to kill me. I didn’t spend weeks in a hospital recovering for no reason. He tried to rip my throat out and you and your people let him walk. Pathetic.” Raven said as she rolled her brown eyes and proceeded to tap a cigarette free from the packet and slipped the butt between her lips. Dropping the packet upon the table, the woman thumbed the lighter and lit her cigarette. Taking a drag she quietly watched the man across the table from her as she made sure to keep everything about her neutral, for she was well aware that she was being recorded.

After she took another drag, she spoke again, ”I’m a loner, Officer Loch. I have preferred that ever since that snowy day. In fact, if it hadn’t of been for the snow and the cold slowing my heart beat, I probably would have died that night. Now? I’m alone. I live alone and will probably die alone,” Which was probably true enough. Who could ever love a monster like herself? Raven’s brown eyes focused upon the burning end of the cigarette as her lips turned downwards. It was the emotional pain that always seemed to be a constant, even when the physical pain dissipated. It was a hollow pain that haunted her nightmares and made her don a mask of a distant, heartless monster. After that split second, the bored mask slipped back into place and she lifted the cigarette so then she could take another drag.

Canadian officers routinely carried weapons on their person (a Smith and Wesson Model 5946 with hollow-point 9mm calibre ammunition), however, what had transpired in Harper Rock over they last five to six years had called for something more substantial, at least in this jurisdiction. Aaron used to keep his gun locked up in the boot of his car, now it sat firmly strapped to the holster on his right hip, and the lockbox in the boot now housed a 9mm submachine gun of German design. If nothing more, it told would-be-attackers that he was right handed, but officer Loch sat holding a blue pen in his left hand presently, jotting down something on a sheet of paper he pulled from the file.

Aaron didn’t say anything. He watched the curlicues of smoke from the end of the cigarette spiral into thin air before rising much higher than the woman’s hairline, and he felt the nicotine patch on his right shoulder itch again, hidden beneath the fabric of his shirt. He wasn’t quite at the stage in his recovery where the smell of cigarette smoke summoned ire or disdain, only it made him itch to reach out across the table, take a fag for himself and light up mid-interview.

A hard line drew across the man’s cheek where he grit his teeth. Why hadn’t the boots at reception processed the woman? Why was she walking around with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter in her pocket? “You can’t smoke in here, Miss Talius. Stand up against the wall,” he said. Aaron pointed to the wall he meant. He took a container from the drawer of the table on his side and put it down on the counter in the space between them.

Raven seemed reluctant, but so far she had played along, the officer hoped that would continue. “Place your hands against the wall for me,” he instructed.

Aaron went to the door, summoned one of the rookies, Alice Peters to the interview room and asked her to conduct the search of Raven Talius. He stood between them and the table, taking the things officer Peters passed to him. The lighter and cigarettes he held up clearly so that they would show up on the footage, followed by anything else Alice found, including a cell-phone. When Alice was finished, Aaron reached across and plucked the cigarette from between Raven’s lips and put it out against the painted concrete wall before it too went into the grey container on the table. Alice took the container with her to keep at the front desk until the interview was concluded.

Aaron closed the door and returned to his seat. “Please,” he said, gesturing to Raven’s chair, “sit and, in your own words, tell me about the last time you saw Dean.” It was perfect really, if anything she said now conflicted with the initial report, he had somewhere to start the investigation. “Time and place,” the officer prompted, “in your own time.”

He glanced at the clock on the wall behind Raven, it had just gone ten at night. Aaron thought about mandy, she was probably at home curled up on his pillow. The man blinked, regretting that he hadn’t asked officer Peters to fetch him another coffee.

“From the beginning, Raven.”

A brow perked as he told her that smoking wasn’t allowed and to stand against the wall. Oh she was familiar with this strategy and she planted her hands against the wall, a smirk firmly in place upon her lips. Phone, wallet, cigarette packet, a lighter and a packet of dried jerky was taken from her. Luckily she didn’t need her weapons for when she hunted. Then just as she was about to lean against the wall and take another drag from her cigarette, the man plucked that from her as well. A shrug of her shoulders was given then as she chuckled low and permanent fangs glinted under the bright lights of the room as the woman leaned her back against the wall. ”You know, Officer Loch. I’m tired of talking about it. I mean, I don’t talk about it often, ever since that day when I was told that my brother had an alibi provided by our parents. So, I don’t usually talk about the day I almost died. What’s the point? My would be killer walked that day and now I find it difficult to trust anyone. Those who I have told, I can count on one hand. She said as she held up a single hand.

Brown eyes watched the man who probably wanted nothing more than to see her go down for her twin’s disappearance. In fact, the way that he talked, made her think that that was exactly his goal. He truly didn’t care about what happened that day and she knew that. No one that worked in law enforcement ever did and slowly her hand fell back down to her side only for her to lift both arms up to cross over her chest. Brown eyes studied the man before the shadow’s shoulders rose and fell in a shrug while she noted the man’s holstered weapon on his hip. A gun? Perhaps she could get herself shot, it would make for something interesting. After all, one could consider her fangs to be weapons. What would they have her do? Put foam on them? They were permanent. A side effect from when she had gone underground when vampires had first been discovered. The woman had done that for her friends, but no one had noticed.

Friends, family. She did a lot which no one really noticed, would it matter if she was locked up? Her aura alone would probably stir up fights amongst the prisoners, due to the unease that they would feel. Normally she’d put humans at unease, but this man seemed rather solid and quite large for his size. She might be in for a fight, or not. Size was rather deceptive and even a giant could be felled easily enough, especially considering she had vampiric strength on her side. Slowly, she shrugged from the wall and walked back over to the desk. Quietly, she unfolded her arms and sat down only to slide her hands halfway across the desk and flip them over so then her wrists were bared to the man. Tattoos covered her hands and her arms. Even around her neck. She had gotten the tattoos around her neck to cover the raised scar and for the most part no one noticed it, just the tattoo.

Trust, No One, was tattooed across both her hands and brown eyes peered into the man’s own eyes. ”You might as well arrest me, Officer Loch. Arrest me for being in contempt of your interrogation, because I don’t want to go over the details of that day again. Sometimes I wished that it hadn’t been snowing and that I had died, because I’m tired. Tired of being here, tired of talking when it doesn’t solve anything and just… Tired.” She sighed then as she tapped into the hollow feeling that resonated from within. Oh yes, she was tired of people always assuming the worst for her, always assuming that her intent was one of malice rather than a reflection of the pain that she felt within. ”Arrest me Officer Loch, or I want my lawyer.”

“Arrest you, what for?” Aaron asked, “this is just an interview, we are only talking,” he told her. “Talk to me, Raven. I want to help.” That was the reason be put on this uniform every day, was it not?

Aaron studied the way the woman moved, a lot more now without her cigarettes to keep her calm, he had observed. Raven had folded her arms and was refusing to repeat the story of the last time she had seen Dean. Defensive, Aaron told himself, why was she being defensive? Your people let him walk, the woman had said, she hadn’t spent weeks recovering for nothing. No reason. Had she killed him, he wondered then.

Raven reached out, turning her hands over, almost submissive. Aaron leaned back in his chair. Perhaps if he looked more relaxed, he thought, but there was something about the woman that had him on edge. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. She was asking for a lawyer, something he couldn’t refuse her. ****. He didn’t want to sit here all night waiting for the woman’s lawyer to show.

Mandy. Had he left her enough water in the kitchen?

“You can call a lawyer using that phone.” Aaron pointed to the old fashioned code phone mounted to the wall. “Or the station can provide one for you.”

Did she have something to confess, he wondered, or was she as homeless as she made out? Raven didn’t look or smell homeless. They would have to wait for a lawyer. He couldn’t let her go, not now the interview was formally under way. Raven might use that time to skip town if she was guilty, or work on another story.

The officer got up from his chair and dialed the code to ring outside of the station before handing the phone to Raven. A short message would play, informing the listener that all calls were recorded. As Aaron sat down, he tapped his wrist watch, giving the woman the hurry up.

”The meeting shouldn’t take too long. I’ll be back soon.”

Flynn resisted the urge to wrinkle his nose at the prospect of his leaving, his vampire stepping in closer to place a kiss to his jaw before backing away, looking very much like he was ready to come right back. The Paladin lifted a hand, gesturing for Azraeth to turn around as he reached the door to their house, a small smile settling over his expression. Usually, as time passed, those small habits that marked the beginnings of a new relationship would fade, like an unwillingness to leave one’s partner. Except, in his partner’s case, that was something that was never likely to go away and it was this strangely endearing quality, even if the human notoriously played it off like it didn’t have an effect on him. Still, it was one of the rare nights that Flynn chose to stay in for the night, and the knowledge that he would have the house to himself was almost...strange.

He hadn’t even fully settled in for the night with a book in hand, dogs curled up at his feet, before his cell phone was buzzing with an incoming text message. The human’s gaze shifted to the clock on the wall, his eyebrows furrowing in the realization that there was little chance it was from Azraeth, as his meeting would have just gotten started. Reaching out of the phone, his eyebrows rose toward his hairline as Raven’s name appeared. It had been some time since he had seen the woman last, and they hadn’t spoken too much, since. The fact that she had texted him at all was strange, and immediately set him on edge. Opening the message, he read it once. Twice. Then, he was on his feet and headed for the bedroom to change. On the way, he shot out a text message to his vampire, [TEXT]’I’m going to the station for Raven. I’ll call you when I leave.’

The ride to the station was quick thanks to the streets being generally deserted for the time of night. Flynn wasn’t entirely sure how he was going to do it, but he needed to get into to talk to Raven, somehow. They wouldn’t allow just anyone to speak with her if she was being questioned into her brother’s disappearance, and he certainly was no lawyer. If there was one thing that he could do, however, it was talk the talk. Despite the fact he had never taken the bar examination, he had worked in the law firm long enough to know the legal system as well as any of them. It was just a matter of how he presented himself. And really, he only needed to speak with Raven long enough to convince her that needed to keep the vampire business on the DL. If she was being questioned, and just up and disappeared...that’s their prime suspect.

Pulling up to the building, he grabbed his work briefcase form the backseat and straightened out his jacket. It was time to slip into a role, and hopefully, Raven knew well enough to play enough, though she was an intelligent woman, and he had faith that she would. At the reception desk, he offered a nod of greeting. ”Excuse me. Flynn Connors. I need to speak with a Miss Raven Talius, to provide legal counsel.” To add to his credibility, he flashed his work identification that had the firm logo, his name, and a photo, but thankfully lacked a job title. It wasn’t entirely a lie, as he was there to talk some sense into the woman before she potentially made more trouble for herself. The receptionist quickly glanced over his I.D. before nodding, asking that he stay put for a moment before moving off further into the station.

A few moments later, an officer returned, gesturing for the Paladin to follow him after a quick greeting. Flynn was quiet as they made their way toward the interview rooms, keeping a respectful distance as they seemed to reach the door to the room that Raven must have been interviewed in. The officer knocked before opening it, stepping inside to address those questioning the vampire. ”Miss Talius’ attorney is here.” The human’s nose just barely twitched at the term, as he had never referred to himself as such, but denying it now would just be stupid. As the officer who escorted him stepped back on gestured that he could enter the room, he slipped past him just enough so that he was through the doorway, his gaze landing on Raven seated at the table.

Turning to the man across from her, he spoke, ”Flynn Connors, Miss Talius’ legal counsel. I’d like a moment to speak with her before this interview continues, if you don’t mind.”

Slowly the woman leaned back into her chair as the man began to talk once again and didn’t produce any sign of handcuffs. Well, at least it confirmed one thing, they didn’t have anything on her, just as she suspected. Slowly, brown eyes watched the man stand up and move to the wall phone only to dial out. Her response was to get up, walk over and take the receiver. A brief pause had her hesitating for a moment before she sat the phone back down. Raven didn’t know any lawyers, she just said that because, well, she could. It also meant that their case against her was flimsy. So flimsy that it probably wouldn’t hold up in court and she smirked on the inside. Oh she enjoyed this dance. It was turning out to be rather interesting and the woman wondered just as to how she could keep it going.

”Nope, I don’t need to call one I’ll just take a station appointed one. I mean truthfully, I’m pretty sure I understand a fraction of whatever this is,” The shadow said as she made her way back to her chair and kicked back once more. ”However, because I got kicked out of high school for getting into school fights, I can’t say without complete certainty as to my very rights. So, I want to talk about the legalities of this “talk,” The woman said with air quotes around the word, ”So then I can-” Her words were cut off mid sentence as suddenly, the door to the ‘box’ was opened up to reveal an officer who said that her attorney had arrived. Her what? When did she call an attorney?

However, she literally had to rest her chin in her hand which she had propped up upon the desk, so then her jaw didn’t drop as Flynn entered the room. A mask of boredom gave nothing away, but on the inside, the woman was questioning why Flynn was even there. What the hell was going on? Was she asleep? Was she dreaming? Because who in their right mind would knowingly show up at a police station where she was being questioned about a disappearance that she knew all about because she caused it. Flynn, Knew all of this as well. He knew that she had killed her twin and even knew that she had buried her twin’s body parts all over Canada. Raven, Azraeth and Flynn had decided to do some baking while they caught up and Azraeth happened to hit the nail on the head as to why she had disappeared. So why would he show up to help her and at a police station no less.

”Well see, my legal counsel is here now so I don’t need an appointed lawyer.” She said as she shifted her feet off of the seat beside her and nodded her head at a corner camera. ”Smile Flynn, you’re on camera so I doubt we will get some time alone to talk about the issue at hand. However, Officer Loch here wants to know about when I saw Dean and I told him already that they already have it on file. I don’t in particular feel like going over the details of the time that I spent in hospital in and out of dreamland because of my asshole twin brother, Dean. I had to spend time with a tube down my throat and a neck brace because they were worried that I was going to tear the stitches in my neck and further open up my throat if I spoke or moved. Oh and don’t forget the damn two week coma and collapsed lungs. Getting stabbed in the throat ******* sucks and excuse me for not wanting to tell you all about it.” Raven all but growled at the man.

Oh she could imagine all of the things that she wanted to do to Officer Loch but the brief overview was for Flynn’s sake, not Officer Loch’s because she knew that he was going to say or ask about the last time that she had seen Dean. Which for all they knew was the last time that she had seen him. It would be the only ‘recent’ record of the two ever crossing paths before she filed the restraining order against him. It had been more for Dean’s benefit rather than her own, because she would have killed him years ago and probably gotten caught. That was a simple factor. Now, Raven was certain that she wouldn’t get caught, because she had played the long game, one that had involved time and being disconnected from most of the world. A silent killer knows when to wait and when to strike and Raven had been killing many people, but the police had no leads when it came to her kills, for they were never found. At least, not those that would be distinguishable.

”So unless my legal counsel wants to pitch in, I have nothing else more to say.” At least, not right that second anyway. She was more curious as to why Flynn was even there.
