Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
Plays to his moods, dashing a show of that old fool Lear tempest cast by the rocks in a stormy weather of hubris. Almost as a joke to amuse her his appearance quavered and became gelatinous and jello-like during these dramatics ravings. Within only a few moments transformation it seemed as if there was a completely different individual sitting there where only moments before Ripper had reclined.
With a long-suffering look of his newly regenerated features (again as was mentioned almost opposite of an old appearance. Following his fancy out onto a further limp, he unveiled back a standing wardrobe dresser and began to root around inside-strewing the myriad racks of fashionable accessories out in an untidy search for a mystery garment.
For a few brief seconds spanned of time both of his erstwhile companions seem momentarily forgotten.

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
"What the-?" Her words cut short by a low chuckle from behind her. "Perhaps more like Dr. Jackal and Mr. Hide, little one." The eerie voice rang. Yet, she did not turn towards it and instead watched was the once form of Ripper, saunter away from her. Something didn't feel right. Then again, nothing had felt right since her Turning. She was unsure whether to speak at all. A first for Katalina shutting up, but the old skeleton had a point. She'd heard of a multiple personality disorder. One in Vampires seemed downright dicey and a special type of demented.
"You know, this path wasn't exactly the one I thought I'd see you on." Another voice tsked softly though the sound seemed to reverberate from the very walls. Katalina stirred much like a mouse as she delicately turned her heel, scanning the room. But, nothing had changed. Ripper was still digging around, lost in his own little world. The captive remained utterly still except for the perking question in his eyes at her sudden alarm. Nothing was there. "Awe, come now, don't act like your not happy to see me. Don't you remember?"
"Remember what?" She hissed back at the air.
"The Void. I saw you there in the Shadow Realm. You looked right at me." The way he said it sent chills down her spine. The apparition was hollow in sound but male and...familiar somehow. But, not right.
And then, fear lanced into those blue eyes that grew brighter than they were a moment before. Even in the dimly lit room, they shone. She could remember. She recalled the last gasp of true breath she took in her lungs and the darkness that followed. It was a void. Everything had gone black from the ceiling to the floor with no depiction of where it stopped and where it began. Steadily, shades of grey started to fill the empty space. She felt nothing. The Shadows welcomed her in. She had no fear, no remorse in her fate to the entrapment between worlds. She went to take a step forward into this new realm and suddenly, a figure manifested itself straight from the darkness. It put up a hand as if soothing her to a halt. "Now is not your time, I am afraid. Little sister, you shall not be ready for what is to come. But, you will be given what only few have to offer."
"Mark? Is that you?"
A small nod was all she got. But, before she could question it further or even put a smile on her face, a feeling of something in the atmosphere shift rippled though her and apparently, he did too. She tried to say something but it was cut off by a booming voice that no longer sounded fully like Mark's own.
"There is no time. Lucky for us, we will have eternity."
The memory snuffed out like a light.
Katalina snapped back, reeling to know what she might've missed. She was still standing there still as a statue but it felt like she had been gone. As if she relived her past. Her glow slowly tamed but somehow did not fully retract from the inner ring around her eyes.

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
The shift in the air was teable as an electric charge which polarized the atmosphere in a surreal reality. When Ripper re emerged from behind the door of disguises looking again for any thing else like just another newcomer.
His eyes shifted from one of the siblings to another. All his senses screamed at him now how something was different but visually there was no evidence of it emerged here.
He could think of no query to voice which did not reveal his ignorance of the situation; so chose to remain quiet.

"You followed me, didn't you?"
"The Kat I remember wouldn't ask that stupid of a question."
She scowled. It was clear she didn't see Mark by the fact that her gaze didn't stop shifting. She turned around again, facing him but there was no recognition there. To her, she was merely talking to a lingering voice.
"How do I even know you're real or even my brother?"
There was a chuckle and she could practically picture the smirk on his face. In her mind he was no different from when he was alive. They shared the same straight, chocolate brown hair with the exception of his being short and cut to give it that shaggy layered feature, and the same witty, sarcastic half-smile. Their eyes were the only thing different now. His forever a hazelnut brown and hers transformed to that ever sea-changing blue.
"You will just have to trust me, won't you? Whether you know, or believe does not matter. I am not going away."
"Then at least answer me one question: Why are you here?"
Another laugh. "Maybe I'm just here to make you life hell again, sissy."
The vampire shifted in his wrappings but Katalina didn't even notice. His gaze flicked between her and Ripper before resting on the other male vampire. "Think she's fallen further from the road less traveled."

"Oh, Bollucks! It's the neighbors back in force again and this time it's a split percent chance of them hoisting torches, pitchforks or semi automatics.

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
Katalina's whole posture gave off nothing but frustration. "You know what? Today has been a day. And I for one am not going to sit here twittling my thumbs with Mr. Creeps and Crawls. I hate this whole damned situation but if more jerks want to piss me off..." She snarled. "I'm going out there with you. Not asking." In one fluid motion, she was at the door and sliding through it. She would not wait for Ripper's protest even as the ghost nagged at her.
"First you don't want to kill people then you're half way to killing them."
"Correction, first I hated having to eat people and now I'm half way to kicking someone's ***."
No sooner than stepping on the patio did Katalina go ridged. The thing that stood only five feet away was no creature like which she had ever seen. A black mass of limbs and bone. It was twice her size with a smaller head than body, but attached to it were teeth like that of a deep ocean monster. Oh god, what is that? Her voice caught in her throat but when it did burst though, even her yell was a shaking, loud whisper. "Uh, Ripper!"

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
“Right, addendum!” Ripper raised his thumb and forefinger outstretched in the deadly classic pantomime of firing a pistol. A prolonged sheathe of icy darkness skewers through the creatures midsection and drops it away in to two pieces. The blood spurts after that were a necessary consequence; although one that lent those inhabitants inside that were near by already condemningly coated in the hot fresh ichor of murder. He continues on evenly delivering his lecture while talking a reconnoiter with his back pressed tightly in against the wall between the front door jam and a large paneled first storied window. Because of his inverted position this allowed him to now keep eye contact with her while his hands remained free to move about by performing their immediate functions unencumbered from moving through these steps from a route in muscle memory. He continued in direct address to her as while simultaneously pulling out the pieces to several small firearms and assembling them together autonomously before reloading each with stocked ammunition.
“Everybody who’s inside this building right now is basically fucked from any fighting that maneuvers to harm *anybody* at all inside or outside this building. There’s nothing to say though which stops any one of those fuckers from merrily tossing in a flaming molotov cocktail inside here and start to sing kumbaya with marshmallows roasting over our burning corpses.
So outside is where WE want to be. Kill humans if you must have to, only maul vampires bloody senseless though until they stop moving."
*there is almost an audible pause as if for breath*
"There are a few spare extra side arms here with several different caliber options to choose from. Do you trust him?”
This last bit of information that he sought from her was the only other consideration needed before completely prepared to press out on a full frontal assault -- before his eyes widened again in instant alarm at the suddenly grotesque movement of caustic animation coming from the quivering mass of undead flesh that was still beside them. The infuriated monstrosity struggled up over on to one side with a set of crackling twitch as bones knit and resuttured back into place twitch series of innocuous poppings like a series of wish finger chicken bones; it seemed apparently obvious that previously earlier he had merely been capable of severing off the vitality from only one of it’s brains.

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
As the creature fell, there was a complete second where Katalina made eye contact with Ripper; an unspoken thank you resting between them. Without a word, she planted her feet and opened her palms letting the darkness flow through her and sending a blast of shadow into the mob, squiring the closest victim and going through another behind them. "You're telling me vampires are in that crowd, damn missing a survival instinct much." She found herself longing for her old pistol as he mentioned his extras or even her old blade would have been a comfort, not that she was the best with it. She wondered what she could have done with it now. "I don't trust anyone, least of all the wacko in there. Try to turn into a vulture and carry me off." The joke hanging there even as she snatched up a golden gun and her face went cold as she aimed a bullet for the risen beast's head. There was a clean thunk! and a sharp squeal pierced the thin air. Bulls-eye.
