His stride was with the languid grace of one who knew where he was going with his eyes closed--a lifer in a 5x5 cell might traverse across its' width with the samely sainted presence of doing it with their eyes closed or never having exited with light at all--whichever all the voices in their heads were screaming at them today most loudly.
having bee-lined directly towards one draped obscurity and whipping off the heavy ruffled mattress cover over what when revealed finally to be was a rather crude and jagged stone form a crude obsidian grain hardly ornamented or decked out at all with the care that such a protective covering might generally be afforded to it because of the already cracked and worn state weathering the item's content underneath 'as is' and hardly worth the cost or need of any further protection.
Several small pouch further fall from his pockets and create dust angels which dance and scarper through the moonbeams where the various wallet sized backs land with a clanks, squilch, or thud that it's weight delivers. Keeping his back to her, he kneels down on to one leg and rotates 380 - degrees clockwise and encircles both himself and the stone within a circle using a piece of chalk also procured similarly.
"The question now is: what fuels that hunger. Be it for revenge or vitality?"

She glanced around the enormous entry way and shouldn't have been surprised that everything as covered over, but it wasn't how she pictured an old mansion in her head. Rolling her eyes inwardly, the girl refocused on the one moving thing in this building. Or was it? Katalina could have sworn she could hear little feet scuttling somewhere far above her. The notion of something living sent a thrill through her spine and her fangs poked through behind closed lips. Though rats aren't on the menu. She reminded herself with a frown of disgust. It was the vampire's voice that brought her back once again and her face changed to somewhat puzzled with the drop of her eyebrows. She had to resist the urge to answer a question with a question. "I certainly hope I'm not one to turn on people over a temper-fit. Otherwise the whole world would be up in flames." She found herself smirking. "What are you doing?" The question asked in a much less blithe tone.

"I'm preparing a magic that I want you to learn; actually, I am choosing between two spells to select teaching you; one gives the blood of life to an individual--the other takes it away.
Using either of these you would be more than capable of feeding yourself or in starving away that person who turned you this way and left then to rot."
*Standing up now, he crosses over the plain white boundary just created to stand outside of the circle and facing her openly as one who is wait for an answer to their question.*

Re: Playing with dead things. (Ripper, Open)
Something flared up when Ripper mentioned her Sire "leaving her there to rot." In reality, that was anything but true and the memories thrust themselves forward. Images of a redheaded woman with a broken nose- one she had snapped- sliding down to the ground. Abby. Her mind said as the blood poured from her neck, her arms. "Please" The voice seemed to beg as the female vampire had turned on Katalina. "Save her. Go ahead."
Katalina took an un-needed breath that shook even as the memory changed but kept flowing.
She remembered waking up. They had kept the room dark but she could still see with full clarity even though the recall of it remained fuzzy in her mind. The first thing she recognized was that she was hungry. She needed food. The room felt surprisingly warm even though it had little effect on her skin. A light tap made it's way to her ears sounding more like a loud thump! There was someone there. Katalina's lips had curled back into a snarl followed by a blinding pain. Her hands ripped at her mouth as fangs tore through her gums. A face came through the dimly lit darkness, Clover.
The inclination to kill the vampire who turned her seemed to wake a lurking venom within her. I didn't ask for this. I didn't want it and frankly, no one asked if she cared. I had been made a monster with no forethought forced to live as a killer forever. That is unless I killed myself but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Maybe she was a coward but anything had to be better than meeting the Sun at the crack of day. She had died once and wasn't about to do it again. Then it hit her, Clover could have left her out there. Drained her and left her to die, but she didn't. Instead, Clover had brought Kat into her home despite the fact that she had blamed Katalina for Abby's death.
"Run and I'll torture you." Was there any greater torture than this?
Katalina had gone stiff. Blinking a couple times, she slowly came to a decision she wasn't sure she wanted to make. "Killing her won't help anyone else. How many people are out there like...I was?"

She gave a nod. "Clover tried to teach me how to hunt. At the time, I wasn't so, um, compliant." She wanted to bite her own tongue. Telling him her Sire's name like that? Even as a human, she knew better than to disclose important information like that. Who knows what this vampire has done and who would want to kill her? Even vampires can't all be on the same side, right? All common sense said they should be but if vamps were anything like people, it would be a second catastrophe. Katalina realized then how much she didn't know about her new kind. "I took off after that. She didn't get the time to teach me much other than how to hide in the shadows. After that, my powers kinda expanded themselves." She paused in thought watching Ripper to see if he would re-tense.

He nods in return, quietly assimilating the information that she had given him. It confirmed much more in with his paradigm of how likely he judged the reactions of other people were likely to behave and this fit in somewhat closer more to what he knew of the person--which was admittedly small.
"This may come as some surprise to you; but there are many others who will tell you how there are alternatives for everything. The owner here previously made a vow to never feed herself from human blood--although I do not myself advocate this principle. However, since it such a step from sun-bathing to blood drinking, you might for now consider this to be a less morally ambiguous method. Now please to sit there quietly on your hands and not speak again until or react in alarm to anything observed here while I confer with some...colleagues. What is most important though is at no time are you to step into the circle.

Wait. So I don't have to feed from humans? She wanted to blurt but what he stated was obvious: he knew another way. "Don't step into the circle. What is this; a sconce?" Her tone was completely sarcastic but she couldn't help it, even though he basically politely told her to shut up. She was smiling at her own joke. And colleagues, what colleagues? That only meant that there were more vampires here. Surprise, surprise and here she had pegged him for more of the loner type with the hair and the precise way he spoke. But a big place like this? It made sense. Then again, the way he said it was off.
There was a creak coming from the floorboards. It seemed almost deliberate- looking back now. And, a pale figure stepped out of the shadows. He was tall and lanky but that isn’t what got her. It was that smile. Razor sharp with a mouth full of fangs that stretched too far for his face. “Greetings,” he started with a slow, chilling voice that came from no demon but, also from no man. “Shouldn’t you two be...elsewhere?” The way he said it was calm yet there was a territorial marker that not even Katalina could miss. She didn’t want to rawl him up but she couldn’t stand being ordered by someone who, also didn’t own this place. “Shouldn’t I ask you the same question?” She piped up. Bad choice. Those eyes turned solely to her, black as death itself. “Ah, strong minded one are we? I’d watch it if I were you, little wolf. Raise your hackles and they might be lopped off.” She held back a snarl and as if he were sensing it, his smile grew to glass his soulless eyes.
