Re: Aeryn question
i never understood the need for aeryn in the first place. all she is, is a quickcheat so you dont have to play the grid rp

Re: Aeryn question
I think that gamers don't necessarily have to be lone wolf players. They can still work with other players. It shouldn't really change a whole lot for gamers if we got rid of her.Azraeth wrote:I'm of two minds about it.
Originally, I saw the need for the NPC ritualist to perform rituals that not everyone had access to. However, now those same rituals have been spread amongst the community, so I can see the argument for not really needing her anymore.
I worry that puts gamer characters at a disadvantage, because they may not necessarily want to make IC connections just to benefit from rituals.
Then again, the game is meant to be RP-centric. And I LOVE the idea of players having to interact more with players and PC ritualists getting approached for things.
So I'm torn.

You are confusing Oc with IC .... just because you are a gamer dosnt mean you don't talk to people and make friends .... there have been plenty of gamers ive made friends with and worked with Here in path. They just don't feel the need to Rp and make up stories for their characters The grid is enough for them .

Re: Aeryn question
I kind of think Rituals need a good hard look at . It took me 3 years of wheeling dealing for Mortll to get the bonding tome. If She hadn't been such good friends with certain people and a Worthington hadn't been the one to get the final blow on the creature and collect the Tome. She wouldn't have ever gotten it. She fought and died over tomes and rituals to get them out to the public and well some people got a little pissed that she made a little Money doing it. I enjoy doing them and I like the rp aspect of it. So it was sad to see a NPC in there but then when one of my other characters needed a ritual and I couldn't find anyone around and could not do it with Mortll Ayren came in handy .... I really don't think she should have all of the ingredients provided though .... Most of them aren't that hard to get just takes time .... I can take a fairly new character and have them collect most of them ... and ive instructed new players to gather them and sell them for coin to older characters .... it works great for them ... many just don't realize how big of a market there is out there and being able to put bulk items on the Auction now will help that a bit .... I know Mortll buys Zombie ears from nooblets by the hundreds .

Re: Aeryn question
I don't suppose there is a way to code Aeryn so she can have different costs if the items are provided?
So those who have more money than time can pay through the nose while those who take the time to gather all the items pay a lower (but still at a high cost, to encourage the use of PC ritualists) price?
