Ember March
Ember March quit

Ember March
The blood was an addiction. For Ember, it manifests as a thirst for power and a glimpse of something more while holding onto the lingering shreds of one's own mortality. It was heady, reckless, and something she very much wanted.

Ripper
watched her with a dispassionate poker face. These next few minutes would reveal much about this enigma.

Ember March
She watches the drops of blood splash into the glass, and a hand curls in her lap with her nails pressed sharply into her palm. Bottoms up. Her breath is sucked inward, and still she resists.

Ember March
"What's in it for you?" She manages in a husky warble of barely contained restraint. She forces her gaze away from the glass and onto the vampire.

Ripper
"Everything." he says simply. "Blood is the life and this is mine."

Ember March
"Can't we just say I'll owe you one?"

Ripper
*raises a single brow* "If it helps you to feel better..."

Ember March
"Are you sure?" She offers, giving Ripper a glance. "What if I want more?"

Ripper
*Again that too wide grin* Than such is easily obtained. Don't you know the amount that walks these streets?"

Ember March
"No, but I'm starting to get an idea. You aren't the only vampire I'm aware of in the city, you know." Such bravado, and the posturing! After all, the only other vampire she'd met thus far was Alaric. Still, let him believe there are scores. Dozens... and she's intimate knowledge of them all. After all, she liked to keep others guessing.

Ripper
*if he reacted to this statement it was not obvious.*

Ripper
"Not so many as I do, most likely. If you wish to strike it out on your own I can only offer you the best."

Ripper
"That's how I did it." he admitted.

Ember March
"I don't like drinking alone." She admits, giving Ripper a glance. "It seems nearly rude. You're hasty. Funny for someone who likes to toss around the word 'eventually.' " Her attention has shifted to the glass, again. "How do you do it?"

Ripper
*is surprised like this, mostly taken aback to have been taken in interest to the question.* "Quick, small sips usually. If done the right way correctly one never even notices I was there."

Ripper
"However, I can show you the experience if that was..an invitation?"

Ember March
Ember seems surprised, "Oh! I meant... how do you make it alone in a city like this? It seems smarter to make friends really quick-like, you know?" She flashes a quick smile to cover the flush that sweeps along the arch of her throat. Embarrassment paints her cheeks and even the tips of her ears a soft, seashell pink. "In regard to... that... well... I don't think it's a very good idea, do you?" She touches the glass, her nails dancing around the rim and catching the condensation on her fingertips.

Ripper
"I might be biased in my opinion."

Ember March
"Well, you bite me... I bite you... and the next thing you know the clock decides to leap past doomsday to post-apocalypse... " A wrinkle of her retrousse little nose is given. "We can't have that, can we?"

Ripper
"It seems to be as a perfectly ordered natural progression of things. Some people have worked hard to rise up out of the shadows which others would see us confined in to."

Ripper
*to me

Ember March
"Oh, do go on..." Her elbow finds purchase upon the bar's top, and her hand drops to rest on an upturned palm. "What is your opinion o the state of things? Would you prefer secrecy or do you advocate to making your cause a public one?"

Ember March
(on the)

Ripper
"I'm here talking with you plainly in public. Only just a year ago such a thing would never be considered as possible."

Ripper
"Have we, either us, done anything which endangered or caused a need for us to be hunted and killed?"

Ember March
"Have we?" She answers, her lips quirking in a slight frown. "If you ask me, and I realize you didn't mind you... but if you did... I'd tell you that some people have differing opinions on the worth of a life."

Ripper
"This is true, and vampires more than most. Such is another topic where the general wisdom of the hoi polloi is regrettably wrong.

Ripper
"Every death is important."

Ember March
"You were saying..." Her hand leaves the glass, gesturing in the air that he ought to continue with his train of thought. "But why is it important?"

Ripper
*quizzical*

Ripper
"For as many reasons there are as lives lost."

Ripper
"Although..." he seems about to say something more.

Ember March
"That doesn't seem very fair, in the grand scheme of things... and that sounds like a load of trite ********, doesn't it?" A sigh causes her shoulders to slump as she exhales in a huff.

Ripper
"I will say this much, and it in at least can be quantified:

Ripper
"Even for a being who is able to reanimate many times, each instance of death will leave a void behind it each time--and not necessarily one of that from the individual."

Ripper
*every

Ember March
"A void that is filled with another vice shortly thereafter... or someone else."

Ripper
"Some place else." he corrected. "A location which is soon to be rapidly spilling into this one."

Ripper
"Which is another reason that makes it so important for peaceful co-existence, not that I think anyone else is aware of it yet."

Ripper
