There was genuine surprise that Keara and Enver had split, really. She'd thought the two quite the pair, not that she'd ever tell him as much. The elder had always been polite from what Every had seen, which, said quite a bit. She'd only ever met Elizabeth and, of course, Chad Worthington III, whom had the pleasure of being threatened if he hugged her again. Looking down at the little girl, she lifted her lips into a gentle smile as she listened Grace babble on about things as she fell quiet and considered things. She chose not to antagonize Enver any further, at least now.

Her eyebrow twitched at the sound of the radio being turned up louder after she had left with Grace, Every sighing. She reminded herself that he was Grace's legal guardian and that right now, with the jackasses hunting after her, Every couldn't afford to have Grace near her too often. Her gaze moved to the girl as she spoke, the twitch going away and a cringe being successfully supressed as she blinked. Her lips lifted into a soft curve of a smile, "Well, until you're big enough to get a puppy, why don't you come over and help me out with my puppies?" Skoll was the only one that she ever was worried about around smaller creatures, but she could always drop him off to Helena for the time being - let him try to gnaw the mystic conscious.

"I have a few back at my cabin." She didn't know how Marshall was, or what Paw Patrol was but assumed it was a kids show. She'd never been one to sit and watch television, and given she didn't have any children but her niece, she didn't have to worry about it. "Every the blue princess of bubbles. I think that's a good title." Mentally, she thought about making Grace an official plague and title for her birthday. Even get the girl a tiara. A frown briefly played across her lips at the next words, "Being a mommy was out of my league, kiddo, but I will always be your auntie, okay?" She said, her hand smoothing over Grace's hair before she carefully adjusted to bend over and hug the little girl. "We are fun. Very fun. You know, my birthday is coming up in a bit, too. We'll be birthday buddies."

In truth, Enver thought about Keara more than he'd let on. At least once a night. It was hard not to, given he had moved out of the Vedarian grounds and now lived full-time in his own place with Grace. A lot had happened and changed between the two of them; between the shower incident with Peter and his wife, to the fact that Enver was now a dad to more than just Keara's blood. In the end, Enver had to do what was best for Grace and that was not being in an environment where he was continually pretending things were 'fine,' or 'good.' He knew from first hand experience that after a certain age and so much time passed, that it was a bunch of garbage.

Still, the connection to Keara was there. Some nights were tolerable...others, not so much. The really bad nights he locked himself in his office and had a couple drinks while Rosa took care of Grace the majority of the night. Certain days, certain songs or just a statement would set Enver off from managing through the day, down to a slump of mild depression. A year had passed and he had no answers on how to move on past the woman he believed was his soul mate. He absently rubbed at the anchor tattoo on his shoulder, before shaking his head and narrowing his eyes.

It was then that he saw the outline of something on the shores. He sat forward a little, as if that would help him make it out. Then, Enver stood and grabbed a pair of binoculars from off a shelf, near a first aid kit. "What the hell?" Enver said to no one but himself, as he peered through them and saw a row of trees. Which meant there had to be grass, and under that grass, a shoreline of sorts. this wasn't unusual, but most the shorelines were a little further out. Had he navigated incorrectly? He made a 'hmph,' sound before Enver moved back to the wheel of the boat and glanced at the dash were a compass was at. All things pointed to being good.

He cut the engine without warning and then headed out of the cabin to where he heard Grace going on about a princess cake that she could probably live on, given all the things she wanted on the damn cake. "There's something out there." Enver informed Every with a nod of his head to the direction of the treeline. "A lot of land." His eyes shifted down to Grace, to whom he offered a cheeky grin. "Want to go on an adventure, first mate, Grace?" Her squeal of delight, followed by her bouncing said it all; all Enver needed to know was if Every was along for a different ride tonight.

Her niece was a bundle of energy that Every was almost completely positive that if it weren't for her stamina, she'd have to drink espresso to keep up with on a lazy day. It was karma, really, for the times she'd driven Enver crazy as a child - she was sure of it. Not that she would bring it up, ever. Her time spent with Grace was always a good distraction from vampiric life. It allowed her to see there was a different side of children than just screaming and running around; it was something that had always dissuaded her from ever wanting any of her own, but there were rare moments where she found herself mildly upset that there would never be a chance. At least, not of any that she would ever want. As it crossed her mind, the phantom sensation of claws scraping against her skin had her shrug the thought out of her mind as well as the memory.

"I'm sure a princess cake would be nice." There was the debate on getting the small girl some sort of pet when her hazel eyes lifted at the sight of Enver entering the cabin. As Grace gasped, jumping up in a way that Every didn't think possible for a child before she moved her feet, the woman turned to look for the nearest window. "An island, or something?" She asked, trying to remember what their surrounding areas looked like on a map and failing to recall anything past water.

Her hand instinctively went to where she usually kept her knife, the knife that she had forgone about bringing as she thought about it. But as her niece turned to her, bouncing, Every couldn't help but offer a small smile to the girl as she asked if she was going with them. "I don't think it would hurt to take a look around. Who knows, maybe we'll find some treasure." There was another squeal of delight as Every looked back out at the treeline and wondered what was out there. At the least, there were wolves and other mammals, right? Right. "It'll be fun."
