Question about CrowNet Handles
Okay, so...no one really seems to be clear on this, and I am looking for some clarification. And it's a complicated question...so bare with me.
Where and when are CrowNet handles used? Are faction boards considered CrowNet, and if so...how would a human access their faction board, when they aren't supposed to even see CrowNet? When a human goes to a terminal, they are accessing the INTERNET, not CrowNet...so do they even have a Handle, at all? CrowNet Handle implies having access to CrowNet, I would assume.
My question stems from the fact that Flynn is a member of Voodoo Dragons and has access to their board. Does he see their names, or does he see their Handles? If it IS their Handles, would Flynn appear as just "anon" is a board where he is supposed to be able to have discussions with his fellow members and have them readily know it's him, especially if it IS CrowNet accessed?
But, again...that goes back to...if humans can't see CrowNet, then how would they access their faction boards in the first place?
And what about Fact & Fiction, where humans do have access? Are their "CrowNet" handles just meant to usernames?

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
The majority of the crownet handle questions are here: http://www.mooncalfstudios.com/pathofth ... =2&t=24694PoeticPuppy wrote:No, this only applies to the two public crownet boards.Velveteen wrote:Does all of this also apply to the private family/faction crownets?
But as for fact and fiction being part of it, I do think that's one of the two public boards, and that crownet is generalized? I'm sure someone else can answer that bit though.
Can nobody hear me? I've got a lot that's on my mind.

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
The two public boards for CrowNet are Word on the Street and Just Business.
Fact or Fiction is just a website on the internet somewhere. It could honestly probably be nested in HR City Websites since it is a tiny bit confusing having it separate.
Honestly, CrowNet handles shouldn't show up in Fact or Fiction, but it wouldn't be unfair to assume someone using that handle on CrowNet wouldn't use the same handle on a human site, so that's a bit of a gray area and is really just up to what the players want.
As far as private boards go, a human can have access to a private CrowNet forum, since those are controlled by the board leader/owner.

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
Well, our humans have been acting under the notion that it was CrowNet handles [or usernames that work in the same fashion]. At least, I know a handful of them that have, so I'd like a ruling on that. xD. Sawyer and Ephraim basically have no way for anyone to find their true name, unless they specifically tell it to you, so we'd need to know if we need to start putting an OOC tag in our posts there. <.<

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
I don't think any human (or vampire) in their right mind would be posting in a place like Fact or Fiction using their real names, tbh.

I think it's safe to assume that, unless otherwise stated, posts on Fact or Fiction are anonymous.

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
So, if fact and fict are annon and crownet handles aren't used, why are people suddenly posting as if they know information about characters?
And if everyone is annon, then how can people know who is posting what, precisely? I mean if I post something as annon, and Donni posts something as annon, how do we know who is posting what and who to respond to?
This all seems very confusing, given Fact and Fiction is bordering information that you can't know from an annon source.

Re: Question about CrowNet Handles
You wouldn't, unless a character specifically uses their name/handle, I would assume.
