Something should separate Human characters vs Immortals. Humans carry their scars.. Immortals, have fangs.
Yes but These humans that are wounded Do not have Super human powers before they get injured ... So yeah they are going to be hurt but they heal super quickly so yes scared but even scaring can fade with time. So the question is Will it be permeant or will it eventually heal? Seems like a random fate toss up to me. Will it heal or wont it? Because that is how it is with humans sometimes things do even without super human powers. Guess that part is the little optimist talking in me.

That is precisely why we asked this question.

Personally ..I think the humans should have lasting effects; especially if they were hospitalized.

But it inst my Call.

Humans cannot be killed in grid. But, in my opinion, because they are human, they should exhibit lasting scars, and / or wounds. They are not Gods.

I'm feeling it's the writer's choice. For instance, I won't RP Sawyer being disfigured if that's the choice - especially due to a bug of retal shots straight to the groin, lmao.
You should also be aware that Paladins are potentially immortal in that they do not age past their initial physical age when they were enchanted. Like vampires, their body heals too fast for the ageing process to occur.
Per the wiki, I take that to mean that they heal - and regenerate - just like vampires. That's how I've always had it written, and seen it written. Otherwise, there would be a lot of disfigured beings running around. xD

Writers choice, especially since we've all admitted it's a bug. Bugs aren't something anyone should be forced to acknowledge or play.

This is kinda where I was at with Flynn.

If he doesn't age, that would suggest his body regenerates in a similar fashion to vampires, at the very least, to keep his body in a physically stagnant state.

I have no problem RPing that he carries the scars from wounds (some scars being worse than others), because I imagine that while his body is capable of that kind of healing, that doesn't necessarily mean his body would be capable of erasing any evidence that it even happened. Depending on the wound, I could see myself throwing in a few long term effects from some of them, even, but that would be totally situational.

But, there is also this...
While humans can be wounded by PCs, NPCs, Traps, and powers, they cannot be given critical wounds or lose limbs, as these injuries would be fatal or permanent. Once a human reaches 0 blood or acquires 10 wounds, they will be rushed to the Hospital to heal for 1 week. During this time, they will be unable to leave.
Wouldn't a male losing his little soldier count as a permanent loss of a 'limb'

No, not really. Hundreds of soldiers came home from war without them in WW1 and WW2. And that was back when medicine was not as advanced. If they could survive without then, they could now.

I posted this in the Bugs thread too. Because one of them is incorrect.

Character Esli received two shots to the head. Both Crits.

So.. is the game wrong?

or is the Wiki wrong?

They came back without arms and legs, too, and those weren't fatal, but are permanent.

And the Wiki says fatal OR permanent. It doesn't say it has to be both. So...losing it as a result of an wound would still be a permanent loss. The advancement of medicine doesn't make a lick of difference...except that they could maybe get one made via plastic surgery.

ETA: But consider that isn't actually a 'wound' in game (And I mean the loss of that specific body part)...I think that would be more up to player choice what kind of effect that would have on their character?

Grid doesn't always has to reflect upon roleplay, either. I know it's been said, but really, how you write it is up to the player's discretion as long as there's a discussion on how it happens - obviously it'd be a bit of he said she said, if not. There is also more to the groin than just the genital region, too.

But, as it's been mentioned as well - the repetition on retaliation was also a bug, so there's that.

With that being said, when my lunch break starts, I'm planning to split this off into a discussion and point Josh that way due to the amount of thoughts on this topic. So if it moves, don't panic. :)

In a similar vein, my wraith received physical wounds, as posted here, despite not being a "physical" being. These wounds included a crippling. Can you physically wound a wraith?
