UPDATE: Story Impact RP Tags

Post by Mooncalf »

Utilizing the update from chapter 6 where you could automatically influence the chapter by using "[for the cure]" / "[against the cure]" tags, we're introducing the same concept, but on a grander scale.

You can now use the [against_peace][/against_peace] or [for_peace][/for_peace] buttons (found on the section for BBcodes when writing a new post) to influence the overall relationship between human and vampire kind. You can also type [AGAINST PEACE] or [FOR PEACE] without using the designated button, if you prefer.

There will also be similar buttons added during future chapters, to make it easy for people to influence the chapter.

Posting these tags on any roleplay post (in a roleplay area where you earn RPP) will improve or worsen the tensions by 3 points per 500 words. To give you an idea of how slowly this will progress, there are 5000 points on either side of this invisible scale, and different attitudes (as seen on a computer terminal) appear every 1000 points for or against. So it will take a very long time indeed to influence the overall relationship between humans and vampires on any large scale.

However, this is intended to give roleplays a chance to auto-impact the current big issue in Path. Your roleplay actions may prove to be the deciding factor, eventually, on whether or not war breaks out or similar.

Humans and vampires can both use these tags, and should use them whenever doing something which may affect the slider, either unintentionally. For example, a vampire killing a large group of humans should probably use the "against" button, even if their motivations are not to work against peace. However, this is more of a suggestion and not a rule. Certainly, you'd want to use these tags while arguing / rallying for / against peace / vampires, sabotaging relations / government, and so on.

Chapter consequences are still forthcoming. This is not a chapter consequence, though as some of you have probably already noticed, human-vampire relations have already been worsened by the successful "terrorist attack" on the facility.

Also, on a related note: yes you'll be able to use multiple impact tags per post, once there's more than 1 issue at hand (such as during chapters).

A further note and clarification: you should only really use these tags on roleplays that are actively working towards peace or against peace in some way (on purpose, or by accident). Simply hanging around or going to the funfair or two vamps fighting one another isn't necessarily fighting for or against peace. Sometimes it's just neutral, and those posts shouldn't include tags.
