Excessive hunter attacks.

Post by Charlie »

Anyone else getting random hits?

Like, you'll get caught, suffer the consequences (a crit or two, even).

But then, you'll be on blood bags for weeks and get randomly attacked once or twice without provocation.

It could be the city alert rising, but the Human-Vampire relationship is currently slightly favorable

None of mine are. But they all boost, or feed from bags only.

Has your character been spotted using powers maybe?

Nope. Charlie only uses inspire, and has a thrall.

You were attacked and wounded by a hunter while you were sleeping! This could be due to recent careless actions on your part, or a high city alert in general.

Nope.
That said, she hasn't been hacking much (at all in over a week or so).
Additionally, she has the monocle, V6 scripts, Intel 35, and Hack 25... so it's rare for her to get caught.

I'd reached out to David wondering whether notoriety had anything to do with hunter attacks, and whether reducing notoriety via enforcement hacks thus lowered the chances of being attacked by a hunter, and this is the response I got:
Mooncalf wrote:Notoriety does indeed increase the chance of hunter attacks now that bounties aren't a thing, yes. […] Oh, I was mistaken. It's not based on the police notoriety, but the amount you've been spotted feeding / using powers / killing random humans etc. It's basically the old bounty value, so it can't be decreased with police hacks.
Charlie hasn't killed any cops in ages (nor is she getting shot by them when she is in the same square). She hasn't been using visible powers since my attempted one with Hannah Lynn's dual quest thing on the 29th (which explains the attacks on 4/30 and early May due to the feeding). Then, she got caught feeding in Serpentine over a week (if not two) ago, and since has been on bloog bags.

Still, it's an excessive lot of attacks, especially when fellow allurists, who are getting spotted more than Charlie is, aren't getting attacked in their sleep.

also the guards in B&E's. If you run the risk of killing any of those, best to unequip any weapons and adjust battle tactics to flee asap., etc.

No B&E either. She has killed a few non-cop NPCs, but generally it's her thrall that does them in. I think it might have been delayed retribution to getting caught feeding. I haven't been playing her, but I'll start to move her across the grid again soon enough, and keep better track of specifics. I'll stick to blood packs for the foreseeable future and see what happens Eliminating one variable at a time, etc.
