Should there be a forfeit option in territory battles?

Yes, that makes sense to me

No, if a faction can't make it, their leader should accept the responsibility, and face the consequences

Forfeit Option in Territory Battles

Post by Aaron Hunter »

Occasionally, circumstances may arise in which one faction is unable to partake in a territory battle. I believe that there are currently THREE potential options available in such a situation (I'll happily stand corrected if I'm wrong):

1) The faction unable to take part can PM David, and try to forfeit the battle, effectively gifting it to the opposition

2) The leader of the faction that is unable to partake gets automatically dragged into the battle, and can be killed by the opposition to resolve the battle

3) The members of the faction that is able to partake all flee from the battle, resolving the battle

I think that options 2) & 3) are undesirable outcomes, while option 1) requires an email trail that could potentially be time-consuming.

Therefore, I propose a grid option to forfeit a battle before it commences. A simple click button option should do the job. Sadly, this suggestion will not prevent genuinely inactive faction leader characters from getting dragged into a battle. However, if characters/players are truly inactive, they probably shouldn't be owning territories in the first place.
