Territorial battle(s) questions

Post by Prudence »

Once upon a time you could take a territory via rp. Is this still possible with the same restrictions/requirements?

I believe it was 6 people in the thread, with 6 or more pages.

Is it still just a one shot only via rp battles? If it is, could it be more at some stage? I mean grid tactic is fun and great and all, but writing was fun and took a lot more effort imo. And I think since we're going rp hardcore here on path...why can't it be more than one time done on territories?

That Night Lords thread for the territorial battle was probably one of my favorite threads I've ever been part of. Like top 5 easily >.> So I'd love if we could do more.

I'm going to say yes to this, but obviously only against NPCs. I think anything that encourages RP is a good idea.

If you want to do it PVP, then it would only work if both parties agree to it, and you use the in-forum "dice" rolls (the roleplay actions system) to determine who wins individual fights. I'd actually love to see that, if there was a lot of effort put into the roleplay.

Thank you for answering that.
However, at some point there are going to be no NPC areas left, there's like maybe 5 left.
Which is fine/great-I don't care about that.

I mean I see your point, but at the same time, if someone challenges anyone on grid, we don't have a right to agree to it or not either. We have to accept the challenge and then defend it. I mean is there an alternative way of getting territory through rp that takes a lot more time and effort, in an rp centric game, once all the NPC areas are claimed/gone?

Sorry, not trying to moan or *****, just wondering how rpers can gain territories is all since it seems there are more rpers here than just grid/gamers atm. Unless I am wrong, but I thought most ran off to blood-those that enjoy the pvp experience more than the rp experience that is.

You make good points, but I don't think it would be fair to let roleplayers gain territories from groups who don't have the time to roleplay, or don't have interest in *forum* roleplay. Some people are more into live roleplay, crownet roleplay, and so on. It would have to be agreed upon in order for things to be settled in a forum RP.

I understand, completely. But...you missed this: I mean is there an alternative way of getting territory through rp that takes a lot more time and effort, in an rp centric game, once all the NPC areas are claimed/gone?

And the answer is probably no, which is whatever.
So, is there anything in the near future for rpers to benefit from only? Maybe? I mean I'm not asking to reveal all, but other than the rp bonus of exchanging 500 rpp points for xp, is there anything else for roleplayers? I'm not trying to whine, at all, I'm just looking for new and different avenues for rpers that I may very well not even be aware of atm.

I didn't really miss it, that's exactly what my reply was about. I was saying no, I'm afraid. Unless people agree to make it a contest to take place in a roleplay thread.

Yes, there's lots more planned for roleplayers. I want to make it so that hardcore forum roleplayers can avoid the grid entirely if they wish to.

Ahh, so no to an alternative way to gain terts for rpers. Okay, I guess I misunderstood/missed that. Blame it on my failsauce at multi-tasking >.>

Thanks for looking at this and replying. :D And can't wait to see the cool rp updates in the future!
