Design Your Own Avatar Clothing
This is your chance to create avatar clothing / accessories / tattooes to go into the public clothing stores for anyone to buy. Your images will be uploaded to the game free of charge, because you'll be helping Path out. As long as your image is of decent quality, I'll put it into the stores right away, and you'll receive a free copy of the item. If you're unsure if you can create something of decent enough quality, wait for a few replies to the topic first to see what the standard is.
A few things to avoid for now: themed or novelty items such as Halloween, Christmas, funny masks, silly hats, medieval gear, and so on. The reason for this is because such items will appear either as collectable loot later, or in theme packs which people will be able to purchase for small amounts of karma. Other than that, feel free to go wild. You can even make clothing which makes the avatar look more muscular, busty, or curvy, if you have the skills for that.
Here's how you can make clothing:
1. Download either the masculine or feminine template.
2. Find a royalty-free image, or take a picture of a clothing item. You can also modify any of the existing clothing images you can find in the game so far, and add patterns or logos or textures to them as you see fit.
3. Create an image which perfectly fits the skin template you downloaded. Be aware that tops are untucked, and shoes go underneath bottoms for now (though I might allow for layer reordering later).
4. Save as a transparent png, with a blank bottom layer. Upload and share the link here on this thread. Be sure to name the item, because I'm not an expert on fashion so I don't know the names of a lot of things.

What program did you use to create the avatars? Poser, Daz or Maya?

I used a licensed version of ePic Character Generator (with permission for commercial use), so unfortunately almost all the clothes from that is going to be used. However, I believe they used Poser to create their stuff, so indirectly Poser would be the answer you're looking for.Doc wrote:What program did you use to create the avatars? Poser, Daz or Maya?

The boy-Man uses Maya, he told me to try Daz. I've downloaded it.
It actually said it looked like a Poser render to him. So that's why I added it to my list.
Thanks for the info. Time will tell if I can get Daz to work for me.

Daz will work too. You'd just need to pose it in the same position and get the same camera angle, then save as transparent pngs without the model layer itself. Sounds like a good bet actually.

Re: Design Your Own Avatar Clothing
Custom clothing item created by me = 15 karma (exclusively usable by you [and your friends] alone. Will not appear in shops.)
How will you sort this out? Like do people pm you their 'friends' or is it done via ally list or?
>.>
Also, could people like pool karma together in regards to the 'friends' thing? Say, I donate five, uh, kim five and donni 5 and we share the design?
sorry if it said in this thread somewhere and I missed it ><

I'll send multiple copies of the item to the person who pays for it, if they wish. However many copies they want, and then they can pass them out.
I'm fine with people pooling together to do it, absolutely. I wish I could offer it for much less karma, but custom clothing and faces does take time.

No, that's fair, as it costs you time away from the game. I was just thinking along the lines of...if I am paying for it, and so and so wants a copy of the clothing, it would be nice to go halfsies, or whatever. Thanks so much for answering the questions.
Why are you taking me through troubled waters, I asked? Because your enemies cannot swim, he replied.

Are you able to take what I did for the wounds page and turn it into the avatar?
Are any of those programs free? I might try my hand at it, when/if I have time.

The dress, yes. But the image quality is low, so it'll look weird on the avatar.Kira wrote:Are you able to take what I did for the wounds page and turn it into the avatar?
