"Who's there?"
Mea was just finishing her last notes as she was startled by Rowan's voice over the phone. Her first thought was absolute relief that Rowan was still alive. She looked at her watch and took down the time. She had to strongly fight the urge to not cry out to Rowan over the phone so she knew that help was coming and everything as going to be fine. Meara knew doing that would alert them to her eavesdropping and could cause them to lose any hope of tracking Rowan down. Just then, she hard a knock on the shop door. Meara almost tripped as she sprang from the chair and sprinted to the door. A quick twist of the wrist and the door was open to let the woman in. She looked nothing like Rowan - or really any of the very elegant Dragomir she had met. But that was ok, because Mea was not from sophisticated roots.
"Quickly!" she practically pulled the woman she thought was Penelope inside by the arm, and re-locked the door. "I just heard Rowan - she's awake now." She didn't let go of the brunette as she drug her over to where her listening booth was. "I have a little timeline of everything on this paper. I tried to do a GPS track of the signal, but I can't figure it out." Blue eyes looked up at the brunette for a moment. "Also hi, I'm Meara its lovely to meet you. Perhaps you might have a better go at trying to track the signal?" She flashed the other woman a nervous smile as she waited to see what would happen next.

Penelope barely had time to stake out the land before the door was open and she was forcibly dragged indoors. Meara – who she assumed was Meara – was stressed. Penelope removed herself from the situation as much as she could without detaching completely. She needed to be cool and calm, a head above the clouds. There’d be no helping Rowan if they all stressed out too much to figure out how to move forward.
Penny nodded and winked as Meara introduced herself. ”Pleasure, Meara. Would be better if we could have met under different circumstances, but here we are! Good ol’ Rowan, getting herself kidnapped,” she said with a small laugh. She wasn’t amused, not at all. But injecting humour into the situation would help rather than hinder.
The phone was gingerly taken from Meara’s hand so as not to disrupt the phone call. Penelope was great at mechanics but not so much at technology. Tracking by GPS? No way she’d be able to figure that out. She was no geek. All she could do was try listen to the other end, to what was going on in the background, as if that might somehow lend a clue. Otherwise…
”Wait, what about the app?” she asked, pulling her own phone from her pocket. There was an app – Find My Friend. Penelope had never used it, but maybe, just maybe, it would work. She had a feeling it depended on Rowan’s phone, on its make and settings. But there was no harm in trying. She plugged in Rowan’s phone number, bouncing slightly while she waited. And – nothing.
”Damnit,” she said, tugging her lower lip into mouth and chewing thoughtfully.
”Alright okay – what can we hear? Do you have anything, know anything? Any clues as to where she might be? Help me out here. Where was she? Should we go there, see if there any clues or witnesses…?” she asked. Enzo was putting his faith in her, and she would not let him down.
