My thinking was that extra thralls could be used for extra hits against enemies, extra numbers in territorial fights (when you're short on bodies), and most importantly extra trackers while you're grinding levels from NPC battles. The not being able to be hurt by enemy thralls was also quite a decent bonus, in my mind. Plus, there's a lot of roleplay potential.

But if everyone is of the mind that this power is underwhelming compared to the other masteries so far, I'm listening to suggestions.

I don't find it underwhelming.

I think not being able to be hit by thralls (I assume that's true of territorial battle as well) could, itself, be a mastery power.

However, adding extra thralls to the mix definitely makes it worthwhile. They're most worthwhile obviously, if you've got the time to run all the thralls to gather gems, or weapon parts, or ritual parts. Maybe it's not for everyone, but the same could be said of all mastery powers. I think Thrall Mastery has a lot more utility than powers like Sunfire (not complaining about Sunfire, mind you). So I wouldn't personally call it underwhelming.

I admit I'm a wee bit underwhelmed with Thrall Mastery. When the thrall mastery power was being discussed originally the idea had been brought up before about thralls that could level and I'd have loved that. Maybe as a T2 thrall mastery we could get that?

Alex's extra thrall is just a walking locker except when I get time to grind (which seems to be less and less these days). As far as the bonus of other thralls not hitting goes? I'd have loved that BIG TIME a few years ago but now? Eh. Not a big game changer now that PVP isn't what it used to be. That's not a complaint, just how I see it. The game how it was before, that aspect of the Thrall Mastery would have ROCKED. Now, imo, it's just 'meh'.

It's not a 'bad' power, but it just isn't that awesome, either. imo. :|

Thralls levelling would be insanely overpowered, when you consider that they could eventually be used for every skillset. You'd be able to hack, craft, b&e, fight, and ritual, all with one single account. Which negates teamwork.

Yeah, but you can't do everything. What about thralls that are like a sorc, or a paladin or a bt, that's like level 5?

-shrugs-

IDK. I guess in one breath to me you're saying you can use a thrall for these things, but then the next time you're like, but team work. I guess having another thrall is just meh for me, and I've heard a dopple is pretty unimpressive as it can't do anything other than scout really? Is that true or no?
Why are you taking me through troubled waters, I asked? Because your enemies cannot swim, he replied.

Dopples can do everything to a limited degree.

My point about team work is that thralls CURRENTLY can't do most things to an amazing level, BUT can still do things albeit poorly. But if you could level them up, they'd be able to do everything (as you can have 4), and you'd need no allies.

I'm the same with thralls and doppels. All mine who had the resources to buy the masteries ended up with a thrall or a doppel and I honestly don't run the ones I already have. Due to being largely a roleplayer and not really getting involved in grid battle tactics, I don't use them for that. Nor do I use them to run around and collect items -- but that's on me. With 12 characters to run, I lack the enthusiasm to move another four or six. XD

There is roleplay potential, too, which I can get on board with. It's almost like being able to create another couple of characters in the background. And you all know how much I like creating characters. *cough*

But I can see where some people would think an extra thrall is awesome, too. True Leader is what I'm really gunning for -- and looking forward to getting the Necromancer mastery, too.

I have a question or two on bullet dodge, does it just make the next 2 chronological gunshots miss? or the next 2 that would have been hits miss? Also, is it a battle power, like some of the others are, or is it a power that just sits on your list, unless you are being hunted?

I do use my thrall to hunt and gather, he's helped me make serious money bless his little heart, but having two of them is a bit overkill as I can already get a wraith should I put powers that way. I've used my thrall in battle and its pretty underwhelming, just a meat shield for a few hits, less if you are up against a higher level.

I am a serious grinder, I push my charries hard and love every part of it from sparring/fighting to just exploring, but getting another thrall for a price that high isn't worth rushing toward in my opinion. I'm perfectly fine really if I never get it. Money isn't the issue, that is easy enough to get, I flow through it like water and make it again all the time. But why am I going to stop buying up properties and cool things from auction so I can have another 'locker'?

I use my thrall all the time in RP, so do my family, Bertram is quite the name in Dragomir and is used in many a thread which is cool, but developing another one that much? I'd rather work on my characters. I invested in important thrall and use that on forum along with my physical thrall, and thats more than enough NPC time fun.

Now if there was a way to make my thrall stronger, though nothing like a real charrie can do of course, that I'd invest in. Or as already suggested, a pathed human thrall, THAT would get me to fork over the monies. Barring that? Something that makes a large BOOM like the others would be prefered, as for me, Allurists are the best fighters out there, elegantly put together when leveled right and deadly. Beauty in motion. So their power needs to match their innate grace and overall smoothness. And vanity.
