This is on Lyonel and Sage. I know for a fact that they usually don't have rpp on them to that amount since I usually cash it in for exp on these characters. I think it is an error as I don't remember either being involved in any side story thread up for the reward?

Yes. Becca is right. Lyonel is level 59 so no tutorial bonus there. So he has no reason to have 5000 rpp. I use it routinely if he ever does get it towards exp. Same for Sage. Both have the 5k that needs to removed. Not sure why they got it.

I'm unsure then, because Lecovio doesn't have any RPP, so it can't have been something I did by accident with the competition.
