"A walk sounds great!" The girl nodded in agreement. "And, yeah. I'll go get changed." She grabbed her bag again and followed the same path she had taken the night before, down the hall and into the bathroom. The door was shut behind her, and her bag was placed on the floor. Emerson took the time to splash some water on her face and finger comb through her hair before her change of clothes were being taken out. It was a simple outfit, lacking any specific spruce of color, but it was comfy, and that's all she really cared about. After changing and stuffing her pajamas away, she applied some vanilla and peach-scented lotion onto her arms and chest. It was her favorite smell. It was delicate and cute and familiar - which was good, because after bumping her head around, not many things were.
Emerson was out and ready just a bit before Maddison was, and she took the time to situate the mess she had made in the living room. She first retrieved the blanket she had left on the back of her chair at the table after breakfast and folded it and all the other blankets that had become clumped on the couch. It was the least she could do. The last thing she did was tuck her stuffed animal safely away in her bag, and by then, Maddison was out and ready to go. After sliding on her boots, Emerson was following the blonde out the door.
The brunette breathed a sigh of relief once she was outside. Her lungs were met with the crisp, cool air of the autumn, and it felt amazing. It was just dark enough out, bordering the line of feeling safe out on her own, and not, and Emerson was thankful that Maddison would be walking with her.
"So," she started, trying to pick at a conversation of her own for once. "Do you have anything fun planned to do in the fall?" A lame attempt, but an attempt in the least. She let her shoe scuff a single fallen leaf and adjusted her bag on her shoulder.
