Bjorn’s gaze skipped from the vast space behind her to the movement of her hands. His eyebrow cocked at the offering, grip on the handle tightening. The weight of the gun between his fingers was right. He’d done well in reloading early.

“No. Thanks. Keep ‘em,” he replied, using his free hand to gently motion the magazine clips towards her. His jeans felt heavy already from the clips he carried in his pockets, and the lining of his leather jacket brimming with hidden firepower. There was only so much he could carry before it became too big a burden.

“I’m good.”

And he was, in every sense of the word. The home-bound tome—worn from use—was firmly pressed to his skin beneath his clothing, readily accessible should things go awry. Brushing down the front of his jacket, he stepped away from Rowan and past her.

There it was again.

“——Later.”

Rolling her eyes visibly this time as the other vampire moved past her, Rowan slipped the magazines back into her bag. She watched as he went a few paces and then, in a split second, called out.

"Hey! I'll be back here tomorrow! I'll see you around!" Not waiting to see if he replied, since he'd said he'd contact her when he made an email account, though if what her female aquaintances said was true then men never really contacted women, Rowan ran her fingers through her long black hair, pushing it away from her face, and turned to the sewer entrance that she would slip out of to rejoin the world above. The catacombs and sewers were usually quiet, a welcome respite from all the noise upstairs even though the monsters lurked in the tunnels. Now, it was time to go back up and take on her mantle, her responsibility. There were a couple of things she needed to do for the Black Fox and then she needed to get back home to check on things there, though she was sure it was running as smoothly as ever. Her Sire, Enzo, was still overseas on his business trip and she knew that he was very busy, though still liked to get updates from her. She was due to send him an email and text message tonight as well. The talk with him could wait until he came back. In the meantime, maybe her older sister Penelope would be willing to help her...

All these thoughts racing in her head, she headed off.
