Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
He waited until Ms. Knight was inside his office before Enver stepped around the desk and then leaned against the front of it in a casual stance. Indigo wasted no time getting to the point, so all Enver did was listen and nod his head. A hand is extended to one of the two seats in front of the desk after Enver chuckles. "I'm not so concerned about your ability as a personal assistant. I know you can do that well." Enver acknowledged her assets first, before getting to the real problem at hand.
"Your job is safe, Ms. Knight. However, I need to know that you won't clam up or freak out from here on out. The ride is only just beginning. I'm sure more and more people will be trying to kill me in the near future. If you don't know, then you need to tell me up front. In fairness, I reckon we didn't know that I, or Wilson would be shot and almost killed." He followed, his thoughts turning to Wilson. "Did they say when he might be able to walk around again and come outside?"
Enver moved to the chair Ms Knight didn't occupy after he sighed. "Can't stand the sight of blood? It's ironic isn't it? A vampire has to live with it, or only lives because of it, but I've heard of some not being able to stand the sight of it. It's a cruel twist of fate. Did you know?" After a thoughtful lean back in his chair, he rephrased it. "I'm not mad. If you knew or not, but you need to be aware that this might be my life for a while. You need to think if this is really the right place for you, Ms. Knight. If not, I respect that, and will make every effort to name drop your own endeavors and business. But the heart of the matter is, if I can't count on you on tours, then I can't take you. That doesn't mean your job has to end...I'm sure I can talk someone into traveling along with me, but it is the cold, hard truth. I need a positive public image, not a negative one. It's crucial more than ever."

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
“Good to hear that, Sir. First the matter of Wilson. He should be back to his baseline within two weeks. They said no cliff diving for four weeks after his follow up, no rigorous sex and he will have to sit out any marathons he signed up for until he is fully cleared by the team of doctors and specialists you lined him up with. He will be fine. Nothing too out there as far as restrictions long term. It will be the same amount of time if he had went and gave birth instead.”
Indigo deadpans looking at Enver. While that is sinking in what he said is doing the exact same thing with her. Really? Has he come to the farthest off base conclusion or what? That is what he comes up with? She can’t stand the sight of blood? Her lips flatten out and press tight into a thin line.
“I took the liberty of ordering Wilson a professional business grade kevlar bullet proof vest that most corporate types wear. You will likely find it appearing on a billing statement shortly. Had it custom fitted so that he will be able to wear it under most of his suits without notice. If you have any issue with that forward the bill to me and I will deal with it out of pocket.” Her leg lifted from the draped position over the one beneath it. “I ordered you one as well.” Her eyes bounced back and forth across his face while she was briefly quiet.
“It is not that I can’t stand the sight of blood.” Her tone was direct and serious. “Quite the opposite. I have discovered it is able to take me and turn me inside out and upside down into all sorts of frenzied states that has me wanting to tear it up, swallow it down and gets me high enough I can make love to the moon all at the same time. Can’t stand it?” Her full bottom lip was dragged between her teeth. “I am in a torrid affair with it. It appears to be permanent.”
Indigo gave that a few seconds to settle in as well before she made sure her *** was covered and she added what she was confident she could back up. “I won’t be of any risk to you, your company, the job itself or your family. I obviously manage to sustain myself with blood and I will continue to do so. It is simple as putting on my big girl panties and taking it like a champ. No worries and no issues. We all have a demon or two. Now you know about mine.”

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
He nods his head when Indigo says she ordered Wilson a vest and that he was paying for it. It was the very least he should and could do for the guy. Maybe he should look into a bullet proof car for Wilson too. Wouldn't hurt, right? When she says she ordered him one too, Enver scoffs and then even glares a little. Wilson was a human, but he wasn't. Before he said anything he might regret, or say something to shrug off the 'good thought/will/deed,' he coughs, then clears his throat. "I will foot the bill. I should have thought of it sooner. Good idea." He then ponders for a second before moving on to the elephant in the room. "You should have ordered one for yourself too. You got lucky in not getting shot on our tour, but we still have a lot of things left to do." It was laid out there, because it was the truth. Enver might have canceled the last place they were destined for, and might let things cool for a week or two, but he planned on hitting the road again. Especially back to California.
"Now." Enver paused and cleared his throat again. What was he supposed to say about all that? He had never heard of anything like that, but anything could be possible, right? "That wasn't what I expected." Enver said truthfully, but she was right. Wilson made it out alive, wasn't attacked by her and wasn't a vampire. She had kept her **** together. He chuckled softly then rubbed at the back of his neck. "As I said, your job is safe and secure. I'll try and mind the blood, but..." He shrugged his shoulder, wondering what that was like. Anyone would, wouldn't they? It was sort of exciting in a way. If they liked blood to begin with, he supposed. Enver tried to avoid feeding and buying blood packs, but even he recognized her needed it every now and again. "Your secret is safe with me."
"You'll be at the party this weekend, yeah?" Enver felt it best to shy away from that topic, simply because he knew nothing about it, and he didn't think he wanted to go down that unknown road. Not with the image he was trying to portray. It would ruin his credibility and cause a great uproar on so many fronts. No, Enver would shy away from blood as much as he could, as usual. Even if Indigo made it seem so freeing, gratifying and a whole lot of other things. He stood up, pulled at the bottom of his suit and moved back to his seat behind the desk. "Bring Adley too. Didn't really get to talk to the guy on the tour much. Felt like your free time, along with his, was better left alone." He shrugged as he reclaimed his seat. His laptop was opened, his password typed in and a new browser was brought up. "I'm sure I don't have to tell you to wear something nice, so unless you have anything else you need, or want to ask?" Enver looked away from his laptop and over to Ms Knight. "Oh. Can you make sure and call the liquor guy and remind him that I want white, not red. He's not replied to my email and my order change. Just white, not white and red." Ms Knight seemed to have a way with people, and men...as Enver noted with Wilson. Maybe she would be successful where he was not.

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
‹Enver_Marshall› The theatre had been redone in a fashion so that each of the three theatre rooms had a space to escape to, so to speak. The first theatre had a small strings band that was set up near the large screen, playing soft, but modern music with a small twist; the twist being composed of nothing but strings playing the songs. The second theatre had been made into a place to eat and drink a buffet table to the right near the screens, and a portable bar to the left. Finally, the third theatre was transformed in the means of most the seats had been removed with a dance floor dead center, with seats not far from it. Expensive, but well worth it. Various music would be played by a DJ that was rented for the night...while the main area of the theatre didn't have any real transformation, nor the small game room. Enver could be found sitting on a circular plum couch with a drink in his hand...What that drink was, was anyone's guess.
<Wilson> was happy to be back in Harper Rock. It wasn't so much, being 'home', as it was being back to where he knew the evils that were out there, and he knew how to avoid them. No place would ever be safe. Every place had a bad things that happened. Every place had crime. The thing about Harper Rock for Wilson, was he knew the city like the back of his hand. He knew the players. He knew how to get things done...legally and illegally. For all its ills, Harper Rock was Wilson's sanctuary.
<Indigo> looked into the small black purse that she found to match her black dress. The gloss that was already on her lips could use a refresh but she came to the conclusion she must have left the item at home. She snapped it closed and looked to Adley. Her hand reached out and dusted at the material on his chest. There was nothing there to clear but it did give her the chance to make contact before they stepped inside. "Ready?"
<Adley Reed> There'd been a discussion about what they should wear. Adley had at first wanted to go shirtless, just in jeans. Comfortable and free. Second he suggested, jokingly, an outfit he'd worn a few years back to a costume party where he'd dressed as a traffic cone, all in bright shiny orange -- what the hell had the theme been? He couldn't remember. Third, he finally and reasonably settled on the black velvet suit. "Yes, ready," he said. He, too, was glad to be back in Harper Rock; the trip had not been a fun one for Adley, not really. Pessimistic anxiety had plagued him the whole time -- now that they were back he felt like a weight had been lifted. All he wanted to do was throw Indigo over his shoulder and take her home -- but they had to make an appearance first. "Drink?" he asked, his hand resting at her waist. She could drink, he could not -- and blood was not a great idea. But he could still make himself useful.
<Indigo> was gliding a hip in tighter against his own and winked. "After we meet and greet?"
<Wilson> had seen Ms. Knight in various nice outfits over the last few weeks.. but tonight's.. was awe-inspiring. He wasn't sure how long he stared in open mouthed appreciation. In fact, whenever he could he would stare in abject and total lust at the woman. No woman ever had this effect on him. Not even his first wife. Or his second. Or the third. Or all of them, rolled together, with all their faults magically erased. He would still lust after Ms. Knight. And then she ruined it .. like she always did.. by getting up close and personal with the boyfriend. Damn.. he needed a drink.. or three.
‹Enver_Marshall›The crowd was small, but could have been smaller. There were people in the theatre he might have seen once or twice as people who attended the movies, or even came to Hokey here and there, some people that were interested in getting a copy of the book from the table in hopes of getting an autograph from the man 'who came out,' some who simply came in hopes something would ruin the night and a mix of other attendees. Even though it was his official coming out party in Harper Rock, Enver didn't dress over the top. Instead, he wore a pair of charcoal colored slacks, black v-neck t-shirt and an even blacker jean jacket. His eyes landed on two familiar faces, attached at the hips, but his eyes focused on Miss Knight. He stood with his champagne glass from the couch, holding a finger up to a woman who asked for an autograph before he politely excused himself, promising she would get it before the night ended. He went to the couple and gave Miss Knight a wide grin. "Good evening, Miss Knight." He nodded his head to Adley briefly before glancing back at his personal assistant. "You look nice. Make sure to keep a real tight hold on that one." His attention moved to Adley when he said that final sentence with a wink of his eye and a click of his tongue.
<Adley Reed> nodded sagely as he looked around. He noticed Mr Wilson and his obvious stare, before they were greeted by the man of the evening. Adley cracked a grin -- one that would not have been unusual while they were traveling, though he'd have had his spikes of bad mood. Mostly he'd have been congenial, hints of his playful demeanor spotted between takes. "We're tight," he said, referring to his and Indigo's relationship. "But she's free to do as she pleases," he said. The latter was uttered with a conspiratorial wink toward the lawyer.

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
<Indigo> spotted Mr. Wilson first and walked in a long sleek stride towards him. It was refreshing to have arrived to the point they could relax, celebrate the success of Enver Marshall coming out. And that they beat the odds and survived it. Enver's approach stopped her in her tracks and she smiled. Her eyes moved from his head to his feet and a brow lifted as would be expected. "you clean up really nice yourself." She winked to Wilson. "Hey there handsome."
‹Wilson› Wilson offered her a hearted crooked smile. Even though her wink, melted his insides, he knew she was only being polite. She had Mr. Stud Muffin for her 'other' needs; and that was a decidedly unpleasant image in his head. He rubbed the back of his neck. What the hell was his problem? He was acting like he was 16 years old. He didn't need another woman in his life.. he had three that made it hell on heart as it was. To get himself out of the line of her sight, he grabbed at the last thought he had, "Drink?" He frowned, "No.. I mean.. where can I get a drink..?"
‹Enver_Marshall›shrugged his shoulders. He didn't really know what 'tight' meant, a word usage that just wasn't in Enver's vocabulary due to either the age difference between he and Adley, or his upbringing. A sideways glance was cast in Indigo's direction at that final thought vocalized before his eyes dropped to his casual dress. "Huh." Was the only comment that received, surprised he looked 'nice.' He was used to wearing wearing suits, so this wasn't nice to him. "Well, feel free to grab a drink, if not in here, then in theatre...well, one of them." Enver took a sip of his Mr. Pibb from his own champagne glass before he moved away from the group, heading back to the woman who was waiting patiently for his autograph in his book.
<Adley Reed> laughed softly as the lawyer seemed to fumble, Indigo's attention a spotlight that Adley knew quite well. And yet when it was turned on him, he took every opportunity to return that attention in favour. But that's just how Adley was, how he had always been. Oozing confidence that often got him on the wrong side of people. His arm draped over Indigo's shoulders, not in a possessive way, but in a casual way. "In any of the theatres, apparently. I'll go get you and Indigo something," he said, his fingers brushing the back of Indigo's neck before he sauntered off to chase down some drinks, leaving his bae and the lawyer to socialise.
<Indigo> smiled as the men disappeared. It would seem that a drink was on some minds but not on hers. She floated her gaze across the room of people and spotted a face that made it after all. The owner of the Texas bookstore. Leaving the space she was standing she made her way over to the woman that was wrapped head to toe in Chanel.
<Wilson > sighed inwardly, he didn't Mr. Muffin getting his drink for him, "Hold up.. I will come with.." Leaving Ms. Knight to flash that 1000 watt smile at someone else. He needed to gather himself, and stop acting like love sick fool. It was ridiculous. He didn't even know how she leaned politically. Was she a saver or a spender? These were critical things that he held in high esteem.. and here he was tossing them out of the door because she smiled at him. He stopped at the bar, and said the to bartender, "Bourbon and branch and keep em coming.."
‹Enver_Marshall›With the autograph given and a picture taken forced upon him, Enver moved around the inside of the theatre, deciding to check out each and every room to make sure things were going well. Sure, he had a party planner doing that too, but he was only human. With his Mr. Pibb gone, he set it on a silver tray on one of the five waitstaff that was flitting around, and moved to the room with the dance floor. It seemed the most lively...though he enjoyed the strings playing too. He kicked himself. He should have put a portable floor in there too.
<Adley Reed> arched a brow as he was joined by the lawyer, but he didn't complain. Leaning against the bar, he didn't order anything for himself. The bartender was looking at him expectantly. "Ah... a cocktail. Something ridiculous and bright," he said, flashing a grin. The bartender just nodded and went about preparing the drinks. Adley turned to the lawyer. "So, glad to be back?"
<Indigo>arrived in time to see a female leaving the company of Beattie Baldwin. The female stopped and looked back and Indigo and a sour expression came over her face. Indigo did a double take. "Don't worry about her. She is a certified *****." An arm hooked around her waist and the woman pulled her in placing a kiss to each cheek."Lovely to see you again. You seemed to have faired well."
Wilson took his drink and downed half of it in the first gulp. He cast a half glance at the boyfriend. "More than you can ever know. For all it's flaws.. this is where I feel most comfortable. It could use some new leadership, a mayor that wasn't on the take. A police force that had a better handle on the gangs.. but I much rather be with the devil I know.. than the one I don't..."
<Adley Reed> figured that the lawyer knew all about Adley, about what he was. About what Indigo was. Adley just laughed. "I just like being back in a place that I can come back to, if I happen to be slaughtered by the masses," he said. The cocktail he'd ordered was taking a little longer, his gaze drifting to the bartender as he worked swiftly.

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
‹Enver_Marshall› As Enver circled around the room, he found himself slightly...disappointed. He had hoped one of his wives, past or present would have made an appearance. It was what it was, and while he was disappointed, he wasn't going to focus on it. It was a party for crying out-loud. His eyes landed on a woman, and he chuckled. She was a big fan apparently, from Taranto. Without any further hesitation and the small smirk on his face gone, he moved to her and asked her for a dance out on the floor. He had things to say before the night ended, but he could enjoy himself first for a bit longer, right?
<Wilson > hadn't known.. until that moment. His gaze on his drink, not on the Boyfriend, he tossed back the drink, as he pondered the words. Truth was, Wilson had presumed that vampires could die. But Reed made it sound like that didn't happen. 'a place that I can come back to..' He looked at Reed. His brow furrowed, "You don't die? Really?" He slid his empty glass back to the bartender, "Huh.. what do you know?" He stayed silent for a moment, and the gave Reed a very serious look, "My advice. Don't share that tidbit around. Things could get.. ugly very fast."
<Adley Reed> just assumed, given that the lawyer was accompanying them on a 'coming out' book tour that he knew all about them. It had to be obvious, right? Had he ever seen Adley and Indigo out and about during the sunlight hours? He stared the lawyer down, assessing his trust-ability. "Sure. We die," he said. Which wasn't untrue. At this point the gloriously frilly cocktail was placed in front of Adley -- it was layered, bright orange at the bottom and fuscia at the top. There was an umbrella, and a pink flower. Perfectly tropical. He winked at the lawyer, took the drink and sauntered off to find his Indigo.
<Kaspar> The blonde entered the theatre with a curious expression on his fair features, those famous blue eyes narrowed slightly as he looked around at who was occupying the space. It wasn't a bad place for a gathering he supposed, and while it wasn't necessarily his ideal event but he'd agreed to come along and hear what the fuss was about. Indigo and Adley had agreed to follow this guy off into the sunset, and he'd not only let them but encouraged them as long as they kept safe and here they were, seemingly unharmed. The two in question weren't far away and he began his casual saunter across the room to them, no one too impassable for him to slip around to reach his friends. "Ads, Indie..." He smiled patiently, the rock star smoothing a hand down the front of his summer suit.
<Every> quietly tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear after stepping inside after Kaspar. Her hazel eyes glanced over the male questioningly, moving off to the side as she folded herself. A pointed glare was shot in Enver's direction the moment she saw him, taking in the room and those gathered afterwards.
< Wilson > knew Reed was telling him what he wanted to hear, whether it was the truth or not. But it was interesting none the less. So vampires did not die. Once that became common knowledge, every terminally ill patient would be bringing themselves here.. begging to be made into a vampire. Question was...how did that happen? Was it like it was in the movies? Humans became vampires? Or were they two different species? Interesting.
<Indigo> eyes widened as the woman continued to tell her about the hate letters she got once she let it slip she would have no problem with Enver biting her in several places."Oh my..." Beattie smirked like a wicked cat eyeing a canary out of it's cage as her eyes followed Enver. "Tell me how it couldn't be fun feeling a little pain and gain from that." Indigo glanced over at her boss then back to the woman. "Beattie..." She giggled.
‹Enver_Marshall› He spun around and happened to catch the glance of his 'cousin,' as she made her way in deeper inside the theatre. The daggers went ignored until the dance with the woman ended. Enver would politely excuse himself and then come up along side Every. "Well, here for the free booze or...? Books are fifteen ninety-five. I'll even give you an autograph for good measure, cuz." Enver chuckled before glancing around the immediate room. More and more people were trickling in and soon he would address them as a whole and proceed with the party.
<Indigo>the sound of Kaspar's voice alerted her to the two men next to her. "Beattie this is Kaspar and you know Adley of course." She lifted to place a cheek on her favorite rockstar . "You made it." * Indigo steps closer to Adley and gives his backside a pat.
<Adley Reed> held the ridiculously frilly cocktail confidently in his hand, the ice cooling his already cool skin. They were soon joined by Kaspar, and after Indigo had greeted him, Adley slapped his spare hand over Kaspar's shoulder, his grip strong. "Kas, good to see you," he said with a wink, holding out the cocktail. "Drink?"
<Kaspar> His head gave a nod of greeting, lowering his head to kiss the cheek of the slight woman in return, a hand stroking familiarly over her cloud of curls. "Hallo, Indie, you look lovely as ever." The slap to his shoulder caused him to raise a brow, but Adley received a sideways grin, accepting the drink reluctantly. "Trying to palm it off on me?" He shrugged, sipping it curiously and glancing at the man in question.
< Wilson > sat at the bar, drinking his bourbon and branch. He half turned to watch the crowd. He hadn't realized Reed was a vampire. Now he wondered just who and how many in this crowd were. Was he the lone human? Did the vampires know others were vampire? Did they have a sixth sense about it? Or did they have find out for themselves? Maybe it was small community...they hang out with themselves? maybe it was more like cliques.. You know they are because of who you hang around with? ****...maybe if he read his client's book he might know the answers to all this ****.

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
<Adley Reed>nodded. "Mmm, I think it suits you," he said with a slow laugh. For the last however long they had been away, Adley had fed on a steady diet of Indigo -- now that Kaspar was in front of him, his mouth watered. Not that Indigo was not perfect in every way... he still couldn't wait to get her home. His hand slid again to her waist, sinking a little lower to hover over her rump. "How've you been? Did we miss anything?"
<Every> lifted her eyebrow as she unfolded her arms afterwards. "You and I already know why I'm here, cuz." She drawled in respomse before her attention moved around once more. "Besides, I learned enough about you from Emilee." She leaned into the wall, "Surprised to see you aren't surrounded by a possy or whatever."
<Indigo> eyed Kaspar then Adley with the expression that would always find a way to her face no matter how much time passed. Her creators. The givers of a gift that could never be topped. She wondered if Grey would be walking in.
‹Enver_Marshall› As they walked, they passed Adley and...was that Mr. Morningstar? Enver blinked, not one hundred percent sure, but it looked like the guy and Indigo. When did she get a nice ***? It wasn't hard to see given Adley was groping it and the dress she was wearing. "We can't go back now, Every. Embrace it. The world is changing." He chuckled and grabbed two champagne glasses off a tray. One was handed to her before he looked around. "I'm surrounded, I just don't like to make it obvious." He winked at her, just in case she was getting any ideas in that head of hers.
<Kaspar> The drink was sipped, an appraising look playing across his features before he conceded and took another. "Not bad, Arschloch, if you are saying i'm delicious and slightly fruity then you are not far from the mark." The question was one to consider, but nothing really standing out for him. "Nothing overly specific, I had my window fixed and avoided further mob scenarios. Well... The negative kind, I did have my first gig in months which was insane. What about you two? In one piece? Should I check?" He wiggled the fingers on one hand teasingly, in the direction of Indie's midsection.
<Adley Reed> "I think you should check. Just to make sure," Adley said with that devious grin of his. He didn't think he had to confirm how delicious Kaspar was -- that much was a given.
<Indigo> stepped in closer. "Lower..." She winked boldly without shame and then smirked at Adley. She knew Adley would be all for it.
< Wilson > felt he had done his due diligence to his employer. He cast his eyes about the room and located him with a pretty brunette. Of course he was with a female. Marshall was a chick magnet. And attractive ones at that. Wilson swallowed the last bit of his drink, pushed the empty to the bartender and waved off another refill. He was going to slip out, and go sleep in his bed.. alone. Again. He slid one more look at Ms. Knight. If only she.. He stopped himself abruptly. Stop it. 1. shes too young. 2. she's to attractive. You would become a jealous nightmare.. and 3. You cant afford her Wilson. Alimony.. He saluted his employer who was across the room, and made his way to the exit.
<Kaspar>While his eyes rolled, his hand did come to rest casually at Indigo's hip, the three of them standing in close enough proximity that he could do so, with Adley to one side of him and Indie at the other. "You two are terrible, ja? Utterly. Sig asked me to send her well wishes, she hoped you had an enjoyable trip and, I quote, didn't burn down too many cities."
<Indigo> she leaned in and kissed the surface of Kaspar's material covered chest. Her eyes lifted upward to take in those beautiful blues. The closeness was always a reminder and she savored the power of it quietly.
‹Enver_Marshall› Enver saw the glance and salute given by Wilson, Enver giving him a nod in return. This caused him to stop his walk, so that he could intentionally view Miss Knight from behind. It was a great view. Sure, he was married, but he wasn't dead. Well, he was, but...he could appreciate a nice looking woman. With a nice ***. And great legs. He shook his head, thinking of how that got him in trouble one too many times. Case in point, his last ex-wife. Great legs, great *** and, great boobs too, now that Enver thought about it.
<Adley Reed> grinned with the full force of his mischief. Adley would stop being terrible if Kaspar asked him to, but these boundaries were far too easy to push past. It almost had him wondering if there was a secluded closet somewhere they could all go. Or a projection room. Too soon? Maybe. "Not too many. Boston was a close call..."
<Every> lifted her eyebrow as she unfolded her arms afterwards. "You and I already know why I'm here, cuz." She drawled in respomse before her attention moved around once more. Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
<Kaspar> His arm slid further around her, squeezing her slight frame in a brief embrace, a kiss falling thoughtlessly to her forehead as she showed him her own easy affection. There were times like this when some of the difficulty between them was forgotten, these were his friends and he could still have that, without them slinking into lover territory again. Right? He could have that much. Kas winked at her before releasing his grip, focusing on his drink. "So... This employ-..." He was going to ask about the man who'd gotten them all here, looking in his direction only to witness him staring boldly at Indigo's ***. He wasn't sure whether to be amused, disgusted or dismissive. "Well, he is taking in the view. You did not burn down Boston, Adley, but the way his eyes are on Indigo's backside you might have to burn down this town."
<Indigo> was listening in the conversation but discovered the tall attorney was trying to head to the exit. Indigo was quick to slip free from the discussion to see just where he thought he was going.
<Doc> held the door open for the blonde. He was in a subdued mood. He had been since he recovered from his hang over. He had lost a week. A full week. Why? He forced himself to stop dwelling on the past. "Hurry up Chub.. Your dress is fine.. "
<Kaelyn was trying to smooth out her dress as Doc opened up the door. She huffed. It was wrinkly, but it'd have to do. Quickly she made her way in and glanced around "Ok, ok I'm going!"
<Indigo>was fast enough to get through the doors as a couple was making their way in.
<Adley Reed> And just like that, Indigo was gone, slipped free from Adley's grasp, her slight frame sashaying through the crowd to Lord knew where. Adley had been busy looking over his shoulder, taking in Enver and his groping stare. Adley laughed. "Come now, Kas. Do I strike you as the jealous type?" Stupid question, really. Adley had had his moments. He shrugged. "She's free to do as she pleases."
<Doc> took Kaelyn's hand and tucked it in the crook of his arm. "Where to first? To the celebrity? Or shall we just .. watch?"
<Kaelyn clutched at his arm, happy to have him with her. Too many strangers could still at times push her anxiety a bit. Her shoulders lifted in a shrug "Unless you know anyone...we can people watch...from a corner"
<Indigo> came back in with a look that said a lot. Wilson nearly squealed tires leaving the parking lot. He had to have seen her. And that is what made her tempted to dig out her cell phone and text him. Was it something she said? Hell, she said nothing. Entering the same doors she just left she looked around.
<Doc> gave her an approving grin, "A corner it is!" Doc steered her toward a comfy little nook, that was perfect for people watching. He helped her sit, and glanced at the bar, "Mai Tai?"
<Kaspar> He scoffed indignantly, shooting Adley a pointed look. "You? No.. Only... Half the time." Kas watched Indie go, curious as to what she was up to when he spotted the newest arrivals and let free a pained groan. "Ugh." He made his noise of disapproval, the one called Doc had been at times a painful man to deal with and his companion, nice enough if not somewhat immature, he'd met briefly a handful of times in the basement of the Voodoo cafe. Her name began with a K, that was all he could recall and she'd been throwing herself at Mr.Dublin, a fun acquaintance of his.
<Kaelyn bobbed her blonde head in a nod as she climbed into her seat. She scanned the room, to see what all was going on. "Mhm, sure. I've heard those are good." Even though she wouldn't be able to taste it...
<Adley Reed> arched a brow as Kaspar gave a groan. "Friend of yours?" Adley asked, pushing his hands into the pockets of his pants. Yes, he was jealous half the time, but only when it suited him. These days, there didn't seem to be any need of it, given how close he could get to Kaspar -- and loyal he knew Indigo to be. He was no longer denied touch, and that was all that had mattered.
‹Doc› "I will be right back.." Doc headed to the bar and placed his order, and watched the crowd as he waited. He was rather surprised at the turn out. It was almost a one to one spread.. vampire to human ratio. He let his gaze rest on Enver. He had no respect for him, mostly because of his association with Pratt. But he had to give it to him. Most people would not be so ready to paint a bullseye on their back, and yet Enver had done so. His thoughts were broken as the bartender gave him the drinks. Returning to the nook, he handed Chub her drink. "Here you go.."

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
<Kaelyn had absolutely no idea what was going on. She hadn't even heard of a party until tonight. Things had started to calm down...go back to normal...well as normal as they could with the secrecy now being ...well not so secret. Tonight would hopefully be a good night to actually go out and do something. With the drink handed to her, she took a sip and leaned into Doc, curling against his side some. "Thank you, Papi. Do you know these people at all?"
<Every> rolled her eyes. "I'm sure people say that to you all the time before they're shot."She shook her head,"Just behave." She commented and made a tipping hat motion at Doc and Kaelyn before she moved to look at the books with seemingly no interest in the champagne other than to run her finger along the rim of the flute.
<Doc> sent Evee a smile, at her gesture, while he leaned toward Chub, "The brunette, That is Evee. Don't let her serious look fool you, she can be fun. That one she is talking to, he used to be someone back in the day.. an actor or something. He just published a book about being a vampire. Anyone else.. couldn't tell you .. " It was the truth. Unless they made a completely favorable .. or completely unfavorable impression on Doc, he immediately ignored them. "That one guy.. the scrawny one.. looks familiar.."
<Indigo>stepped through the crowd and stopped where Enver was."Where did Wilson go?"
<Kaelyn twisted her face up in a bit of a confused look. Published a book? People were going to those extremes of completely outing themselves for the world to know every damn detail? They were crazy..."Things have changed, Papi...I don't know if I like it."
‹Doc› "I am not sure I like it either.. but we do not seem to have much choice... except to keep our heads, keep a low profile, and always carry."
<Adley Reed> could have recognised Doc if he really looked -- but Adley had the habit of forgetting faces of people he didn't deem important. The crowd swelled and shifted, people moving from theater to theater. Adley stayed put with Kaspar, eyes always managing to find Indigo wherever she went. Not because he was being overly protective -- he wasn't a hover-boyfriend -- but because he was waiting for any hint that she was ready to go.
<Kaelyn sipped at her drink some and patted her thigh. She always had a blade tucked on one and a small gun holstered to the other. Loose frolicy dresses were great for hiding things. Her purse was always well prepared as well. "Of course. Never leave without. I think Stagger'd have my head if I did." Her lovey was very big on weapons. She enjoyed learning from him.
<Kaspar> Kas shrugged, forgetting it in a heartbeat. "Some old asshole, and some young ditz. Nothing important, trust me." He grinned devilishly, turning his attention once more to the host. "Come on... Let's say hi, introduce me so I can make pleasantries and bail."
‹Enver_Marshall›Behave. Enver snorted and rolled his eyes before slamming down the rest of the champagne from the tall glass before giving it a new location on the concession stand area. He cleared his throat, leaned over the glass and grabbed a microphone. It squeaked for a minute before he tapped the top of it and said the word 'testing,' in it. Once he was satisfied, Enver put on his million dollar smile and started speaking. "Good evening everyone. I want to thank you all for coming tonight. Thank you for concluding my first book tour with me." He glanced at the crowd, eyes falling on Every before he smirked. A hand went to his microphone when Miss Knight arrived at his side, just giving her a shrug and a 'I'm thinking home?' The hand was removed so he could continue, "Someone said...change is inevitable. And here we are tonight. The world is changing around each and every one of us, day by day, or night by night. How things change and how we shape the world is up to each and every single one of us. Yes, we're real. No, we're bad or evil. No more than anyone else. The movies and books are a fallacy...all of which you can find out, should you purchase my book tonight." Of course he had to put a plug in about his book. "As a reminder, there will be a winner who receives fifty-thousand dollars in cash, and the grand prize winner will walk away one hundred thousand dollars richer. Enjoy as much booze and food as you'd like. And stay tuned..." Enver shut the mic off and moved to theatre three.
‹Doc› "Good.. because if he didn't I would. And then I lecture you about how we told you so." Doc's lecture was forestalled as Enver started speaking. As he mentioned the 50k prize, Doc grinned. Fifty grand would buy a **** load of ammo. He played with Chub's curls. "Hope you win.."
<Indigo>smiled and soon was just standing there like a showcase show down girl thatwas without a prize to wave her hands over. Beattie slinked up and paused to lean in. "Guess where I am heading?" A pickle went to her lips and off she went. Indigo watched and finally rolled her eyes. "Tramp." Was released from her lips whisper soft as she made her way over to Kaspar and Adley.
<Kaelyn closed her eyes for a few moments while he toyed with her curls. She loved it when he did that. "I like winning things. If I don't and you do...don't give it to me, please. Put it in family funding." She then turned to look at him. "I want my family gathering. It's been months. Is Dom and Ric back yet?"

Re: I'm Coming Out! [Side Story: Exposed!]
<Kaspar> Kas entered the area in time to hear his speech, frowning slightly in consideration. Not ALL vampires were bad or evil, but some were, and those needed to be addressed, humans to be warned to be cautious just as you were when making a new friend... The stakes were just a little higher. He watched the man leaving the stage, casually blocking his path as he stepped down and headed off towards another the theater. "Hallo... I'm Kaspar, Kaspar Grube. Thank you for the invite, though I'm sure it came from your assistant." He nodded in Indie's direction, "I'm curious, which assets of hers got her the job? Her business savvy? Her art credentials?"
<Every> ever-so-politely lifted her middle finger towards Enver after she caught his smirk before she ultimately moved towards her faction mate. She thought over the email that had been sent to her by Enver, the simple agreement he had spoken and the reveal that she had a younger cousin. The memory of the latter had her shudder mentally before she put her hands into the pockets of her ripped jeans. "Well apparently I'm not the only one out to see the trainwrecks first hand." She muttered to Doc, scratching her cheek with neatly manicured nails.
<Indigo>found she was always step behind. That was fine. Speech was over. Off she went to the bar.
‹Enver_Marshall›A woman, a slightly familiar woman with a pickle in her mouth zoomed in on Enver, offering, well...a great time. Debating on it, Enver was **** blocked when Kaspar, whatever it was interjected. A couple questions were posed his way, all of which were partly ignored. Mostly. "Every asset is a potential to be utilized. Don't you agree?" He looked at the woman with the pickle, before he shrugged his shoulder. "If you'll excuse me. I have some...pressing matters." Enver knew the guy, and probably had a cd or two of his, but he wouldn't put up with someone attempting to undermine him at his own party. Or cause a potential scene.
<Doc> stood as he watched Evee approach, he smiled at Evee, "Evee.. you are looking lovely as usual.. Do you know my Chub? I mean.. my Grandchilde.. " He motioned to Chub to stand up. "Kaelyn.. allow me to introduce you to Evee.. Evee.. this is my Kaelyn.. "
<Kaelyn slid from her seat and extended her hand towards the woman. She couldn't help but chuckle...his Chub. His Grandchilde. His Kaelyn. He was awfully possessive tonight. She liked it. "It's lovely to meet you, Evee."
<Indigo>set her purse on the surface of the bar and waited patiently for her turn to order. While she did she glanced to the trio talking and made a point not to listen in. Instead the music playing overhead kept her attention until the bartender slid her the complimentary glass of champagne. She gracefully claimed the flute and brought it to her lips.
<Adley Reed> left the two men to socialise as he followed after Indigo, hook line and sinker. He hadn't thought that Kaspar was making a scene -- he didn't think Kaspar's intentions were all that bad, and hadn't even noticed the tension as he slipped away. He slouched in beside Indigo. He leaned in, lips close to her ear, breath tickling her hair. "I'm daydreaming of our bed..."
<Kaspar> Kas laughed, head shaking as he shot Indigo a look. "Indeed they are... Congratulations on your book, stay safe out there." He saluted, letting the man go by, he didn't really care enough to follow and make idle chit chat. He'd arrived with intrigue, wanting to meet the guy but he came off as self important and well, a bit of a perv. Kas wouldn't normally be bothered but something about the guy didn't yet sit right. He would have to arrange a meeting through Indigo at a later date.
<Indigo> the sweetness in her mouth and the bite of the bubbles just took a backseat to the sensation of the whisper to the at the back of her ear. Her heel lifted from the carpet beneath and the toe of the black dress shoe skimmed the back of his leg. "And..." She encouraged him to continue.
<Adley Reed> smiled, slow and teasing. "I'm sure you can use your imagination, Bee," he said, his attention only for her, his eyes bright and full of filthy suggestion.
<Every> lifted a corner of her lips in a small curve, "Thanks Doc." She then shook her head, her gaze moving to Kaelyn. "We've met, or it seems you've forgotten the time when Jesse introduced us. Or the times you've attended the events I have put together, where you had won a couple of prizes from." She inclined her head, hazel eyes showing mild amusement.
<Indigo> turned with the flute close to parting her lips once again. "I can." She allowed the flute to tip just enough that the reward found its way between her lips.
<Every>shook her head. "I wasn't using that against her, nor even was her lineage relevant. I was simply pointing out this is no where near the first time she and I have met."
<Kaelyn cringed. She was bad at faces and names sometimes. "I apologize. I forget things sometimes. My mind gets really full and then...I just forget." Eyes widened and she turned her look to Doc. She knew how he felt about her grandsire...but it was still disrespectful. "Papi...please." Chewing her bottom lip, Kaelyn glanced back at Every "I'll make note not to forget your face again!"
<Adley Reed> waited for the flute to be lowered before tucking his fingers beneath Indigo's chin, tilting her head so he could claim a soft kiss, tasting the remnants of the bubbles still upon her lips. He hummed his satisfaction.
