Wilson saw the bored ‘really?’ look pass between them. If Mr. Marshall didn’t like his style.. Huzzah! Enver Marshall. That’s who he was. Wilson knew the name would come to him. He nodded, and said nothing as the Mr. Marshall prattled off his list of ‘accomplishments’. He made notes on a legal pad, following his original train of of thought, if the guy didn’t like Wilson’s style, no skin off his nose. Celebrities were a needy bunch, and this guy sounded very much like the worst of the needy.

Wilson’s eyes were on his notes. Notes in his own very unusual style. A style that wouldn’t be easily deciphered. It wasn’t like short hand, but rather word association. Words that should mean one thing, would actually mean something else. For instance, for the word ‘way’, he would write ‘dizzy’. It was his own, unique method, that he and only he understood. The list of words on the pad grew. Root, spore, horse, bitter, Mandrake.

He stopped writing for a moment, and looked at Mr. Marshall. There was a long pause, before Wilson finally returned his eyes to the pad and continued writing. There was only the briefest skip of the pen when Mr. Marshall cheekily intoned he was also a vampire. Wilson wrote the words ‘needle and thread’.

As Mr. Marshall finished speaking, Wilson mulled things over. He canted his head this way, and then that as he looked off the side. He was bouncing scenarios off one another, the pros and cons. He lifted an eyebrow, then he stilled. He laid the pen down and looked at Mr. Marshall evenly. Slowly he nodded and then started speaking. "Right. We will need character references.. loads of them. And an ironclad custody orders. Whoever is out to get you, will go for the children. The older one will soon be the age of majority and be considered an adult.”

Wilson gave him a knowing look. “The older one will be a target. Possibly used to turn against you. It can go good or bad, everyone loves a hurt teen story. But an angry teen, can be used in your favor, if..” Another knowing look, “we have to go there. Which I hope we don’t. But you need to be cognizant of the fact, he will become a target for the unscrupulous. Reporters are the worst. They will offer money to get him to sell his soul. I cannot advise on how to deal with that. However, I can only help you mitigate any damage should that eventuality arise.. If you let me know ASAP.” He gnawed on the inside of his lower lip, “Now the younger one… is how old?” He didn’t wait for an answer.

“That one can cause some outrage. A Vampire raising a child? The Horror. Left wing nutcases will demand the poor child be taken away for it's own good. But not if we can show you are a huge supporter of orphans, or the lost. You need to do a lot of charitable donating.. anonymously.. that somehow.. gets out..." Another pause, “Let me handle that bit..”

Wilson’s head started tilting to one side then the other again, as more debating was silently taking place, before once more speaking. "Also.. it wouldn't hurt to have the past relationships in your life vouch for you. Past Girlfriends.. any chance you have another child out there? A young one. Or is that not a thing? I am not up on vampire knowledge."

Wilson snaps his fingers, "But.. do you have documentation.. about your family.. how it works? The ties that bind, the traditions, the lore, the..” He frowned, ‘the lineage? Anything that could, by rights, tie the younger one to you more? We can call it a historical common law, that should be recognized by in the current eyes of the law, as ‘a heritage’ that must be preserved. Similar to the Romney laws that govern Gypsies? Vampires should have rights…which we will use to argue judicial decisions biased in our favor.. based on vampire custom and precedent, unwritten in statute or code, but still constituting the basis of law.”

Wilson narrowed his eyes as he looked at Mr. Marshall pointedly, “Where do you see issues rising? I can spot weak areas in the basic relationship or work related arena. And I can shore them up with a wall of legalese.. Which would take years to tear down. But I am not your race. I do not know who, what, where, or how another vampire will try to bring you down. And if your race is anything like mine.. Your worst enemy.. Will come from within.”

Enver waited patiently to find out if Wilson was on board or not. The answer came sooner than later by the way Wilson talked, letting Enver know that he was definitely on board. Enver continued to rock back and forth while he listened to Wilson and weighed all the scenarios given; all the pros and cons too. Enver wasn't worried about Jaime, primarly due to his age. He was an adult almost and his life was his own. They could try and take him, but Enver knew his wife wouldn't let that happen. It would be a cold day in hell before Keara let her blood-her human blood be ripped from her. Grace was his primary focus given her age and the recent changing of hands, so to speak.

"Grace will be four soon. A few weeks actually. And no. No other children." Enver made a mental note to start preparations for her birthday party in the theme of...paw patrol was it? Or was it that show with mermaids? He couldn't keep up. So long as it wasn't Frozen, Enver didn't care. Enver wasn't even fifty percent sure what Wilson was talking about when it came to 'lineage' things, traditions and lore. "I'll get back to you on the lore and lineage stuff." Enver looked at Indigo, implying he might need a little bit of help in that area; if she even knew what Wilson was talking about herself.

He sat in thoughtful silence before nodding his head. "In my earlier years as a vampire, I might have done a few...things. Showed off some powers and such, trying to get people to slowly get on with the idea that there's more to life, or more than just them out there. Sometimes, the methods were a little extreme and costly."
He chuckled a little, thinking about a particular car he totaled; his own, but into the side of a building. "I was mostly drunk or high during that time frame."

Enver reflected on the other things Wilson said. About donating to charities. That thought hadn't even crossed his mind, for the obvious reasons that Enver really, really liked his money. Not as so much as to spend it, but just enjoyed knowing he had almost what he had pre-Abigail days. He turned to look at Indigo, "Miss Knight...Would you get me a list of places to donate money to that helps or sponsors kids by tomorrow morning?" If this is what Wilson thought was the right route to take, then it was the right route to take. "I hope you're not adverse to travel, Mr. Wilson. I plan on leaving for Texas in two nights. When I'm through, cowboys won't be the only thing they'll love down there." Enver slowly stood and buttoned his suit coat. "I'll write you a list of all the stupid **** I did a few years ago, and the other things..I dislike using emails for private information that I want to remain secure. Unlike the ex-first lady." Enver snorted under his breath before shaking his head. While the joke was funny, the possible outcome of the elections only made Enver want to stay in Canada longer than he absolutely wanted to, or dreamed about. He moved to the door, opened it and paused in front of it. "See you at the airport in two nights. I'll make sure you get an itinerary." With that Enver was out the door and on his way to the main floor to call it a night and start packing for Texas.

Indigo eyes shifted sideways to glance at the mention of lore. It was apparent he was giving her the duty of a cram session of researching lore and lineage. She was barely cutting her fangs and now she was going to be sinking them into her employers blood line and the lore of vampirism. The etiquette and the inner workings. This would be a bit of a challenge but not an impossible feat by any means. It was obviously something that she had to get to at some point just as was required of her as a kid learning the history of the world around her. Surely there was information out there. Where it could be found was the question. She doubted there would be some local historical society catering to informing the community about the vampiric history. Especially now that the world was becoming aware.

Indigo nodded at the request to dig up charities that benefit children and their causes. She would have it done within the hour. In fact she was on it as she sat there. There were a few she could already think of that could be open to donations. Five came to her mind at the mention of it. The ones that connected kids with mentors like big brothers and sisters, the ones that provided basic school supplies to those in need, the programs that aided getting service animals to kids facing the challenges of autism, vision or hearing challenges as well as those living with epilepsy. Another that could be an ideal choice would be one she recently was made aware of and that was the organization that offers volunteers trained to speak on behalf of abused and neglected children in the court system. A lended voice that can be heard when theirs is weakened by the realities of how harsh and unfair life can be. Of course they would need to hook up with the community supported drug awareness programs and those that work to get rehabilitation to those who are struggling without a solid support system in their young lives. Those would be a good investment as well given Mr. Marshall’s history.

Wilson was informed of the travel plans ahead and it was then that Enver stood. The amusement of Enver Marshall the entertainment sensation setting the south on fire with his blazing white fangs was inspiring all sorts comedic scenarios but hardly any that she took too seriously as to happen. Texas would not have seen anything in history to prepare them for what was about to arrive. She was sure of that. Rising from her chair she followed suit making the effort to reach back for her jacket and sliding it on. Once her boss took his leave from the room Indigo adjusted the fit of the material over her shoulders while keeping her focus on Wilson. She smiled lightly as she stepped back and guided her chair towards the edge of the table.

“It would appear we all have some packing to do, Mr. Wilson.” She buttoned the single button in the front of her jacket and tilted her head just enough that she appeared receptive to his reaction to her perception of how things had been concluded. “Is there anything that you will need that I can help you with before we leave?” She wanted to be accommodating to the one who was about to take to the friendly skies with the fanged and famous.

As Mr. Marshall spoke, Wilson once again started taking copious specially phrased notes. His mind rolled around the fact that the youngest was only four years old. That one was going to be tricky. He needed to lock the lid on that one water tight. It might prove to be easier than he first imagined, when he caught his note from higher on the page. The child originated in California. Good. That state had HIPPA laws. It there was one law that put people in an information tizzy, it the United States of America’s HIPPA laws. Wilson scribbled the words hippo and crocodiles; and moved on with his note taking.

As attention turned to travel, Wilson shrugged. If the client wanted to fly him to Texas.. He would fly to Texas. Why Texas though.. Why not some place more.. Suited to book releases, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and even DC.. but Texas? What the hell was in Texas except heat and cows? And then Mr. Marshall got Wilson’s attention and respect. He hated emails. So did Wilson. Emails were the bane of his existence. Clients loved to throw emails in his face as proof. They weren’t. Any good attorney, could have them thrown out, if the server wasn’t secured and encrypted. Yes… now most companies were headed that way, but they weren’t there yet.

When Mr. Marshall left, his attention turned to Ms. Knight. Sultry, sexy and far too charismatic Ms. Knight. She made it hard to concentrate on his tasks at hand. Her voice had a breathy husky hint to it… making him wonder what she sounded like after a bout of lovemaking. Wilson shook his head and tried to focus. He cleared his throat and coughed. He heard nothing she said, except.. “Is there anything that you will need that I can help you with before we leave?” She smiled in an overly accommodating manner.

Wilson cleared his throat again, and stammered a quick denial, much to his libedo’s dismay. Quickly he grabbed his notes, briefcase and papers and all but ran out of the office. Once safely back in his car, his head clear, but feeling like he needed an ‘after sex smoke’, he drove back to the office.

Wilson spent the next several hours drawing up legal standings based on the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act that was passed in Canada in 1995. Like any privacy protection act, the individual with privacy concerns, must be informed of information that may be disclosed, whereby consent is given. This may be done through accepting terms, signing a document or verbal communication. In PIPED Act, "Personal Information" is specified as information about an identifiable individual, that does not include the name, title or business address or telephone number of an employee of an organization. In other words, nameless slander or gossip.

Wilson knew it might be a stretch. But he could argue it in court. And his standing would be based on the fact that his client wasn’t informed ahead of time about the insinuations that any publication, newspaper, or gossip organization alluded to. Would he lose in court? Not necessarily. Would it be costly? Yes, but not for him, for those he sued.. Absolutely. That was the point. Would the gossip or mudslinging be worth the multi-year long battle in the courts? Not unless they were highly invested in taking Mr. Marshall down.

After getting a few hours of sleep on the couch in his office, Wilson was awake, drinking cold coffee and back hard at the books, researching HIPPA and drafting a variety forms and privacy documents that he would get Mr. Marshall to require any and all medical personnel that had ever seen, touched, or heard of his four year old ward before. And they would sign them, upon pain of investigation of a breach of HIPPA.

The hours flew by, and before he knew it, the taxi was dropping him off at the airport. He had packed light. He would purchase what he needed in Texas. Wilson was pretty sure, his wool suits would be the death of him, in Texas. He would get some lighter weight clothes there.

When Enver arrived at the airport, he wasn't sure who to expect to arrive. He knew without a doubt Miss Knight would be there and his ex-wife, as she was now on his payroll and his head of security. Grace wouldn't be joining them this go around, but probably in Boston. When his eyes made contact with Wilson, Enver let out a breath of relief. He had some slight reservations after their show and share session the night before. But seeing him there, in Enver's mind went one of two ways. Wilson was either driven by money; which Enver had a surplus of, or he had something to prove. He was one of those lawyers who either was good, or believed her was good to do anything and everything. There were other options, but those two came to mind. Either one worked in his mind, because people who were driven by money would do anything to make it. There would be no reservations or holding back on his end. And if Wilson had something to prove to whoever, then he was also going to work his *** off to prove what he needed to prove.

After a brief introduction of his ex-wife, who could be used as a character witness for Wilson, as requested the night before, and a brief ecxhange of names between Lelantos and Miss Knight, Enver passed out an itinerary to each and every person there. Sans Miss Knight. She had already been informed of the dates, times and the location Enver had chosen in San Antonio. From there, they were planning on hitting up other states in the United States; such as Boston, New York, Chicago and finally Taranto before heading home for an after party at his theatre. Why not celebrate a coming out party, by actually having a coming out party?

Other than some slight turbulence due to the plane being small (as it was his private plane) on the way there, the San Antonio trip went off without a hitch. Which surprised Enver in truth, because if memory served, didn't Texas always vote conservative? Not that he was big into the game of politics, but Enver swore so...or at least ninety-eight percent of the time. Other than being chased and demanding autographs from some female fan group called 'The Marshallettes,' The trip was well worth it and Enver was well received. Either people wanted to be him (Really, be a vampire) or be with Enver, which only caused slight disappointment when some girl that had to be in her very early twenties demanded to be made 'His Queen of Darkness.' After a couple nights of freedom in Texas after the book signing, the group was off to Boston for a quick day's rest in a rented out apartment like setting; the two upper floors blocked for them, and then off to another book signing.

The feeling of dropping overcame her body before her eyes were able to find a visual through the weighted lids that tried to defy her need for awareness for the source. Slowly her feet pressed down to the footrest beneath. Inching up she palmed her face with her right hand and massaged her eyes until they opened with her fingers. Her left pushed at the covering over the window until it slid upward. She was finding the flights between destinations were the best time to nod off. An abundance of honey ringlets were pushed back freeing her eyelashes from the lasso effect the curls caused.

Indigo pulled out her briefcase from under her legs and glanced over to Adley in the seat beside her. A brief stir of his body at the descension of the plane wasn’t enough to rouse him from the music in his ears. She used the last minutes of quiet to flip through her notes on the location they would be hitting next. The updates on the location flooded through in alerts coming to her phone. Ignoring the warning to stay seated long bronze fingers unfastened the belt across her lap. Careful not to give Adley a reason to pull the earbuds from where they were nestled in his ears she stretched a long lean leg over his equally long legs and then pulled the other over so she was left standing in the incredibly narrow aisle. Despite a sudden squeeze to her backside from a familiar hand she seemed to defy the angle of the plane as it was gradually dipping with the nose sinking. She bunched up her full lips and blew him a kiss. Gaining her footing as the plane leaned to the right she moved slowly. There was no question it was going to meet ground one way or another soon enough but what was on her mind couldn’t wait.

“Ms. Knight…” The voice behind her was the private stewardess trying to get her attention. Indigo eyes darted to fix on the woman as she looked over her shoulder. “We haven’t landed it. Please return to your seat for your safety.”

Indigo gave the sweetest grin she had. She moved over to where Mr. Wilson was currently following all the glowing messages that were lit up for easy viewing. With her briefcase in hand she sank into the seat next to him. A few concerns were on her mind with the bookstore they were about to enter.

“The location we are going to has been doing some heavy publicity for the event.” She pulled up the examples she had saved on her laptop and started scrolling through them. She paused to point out what they did with radio and the locals press. “It looks like there is going to be more than we faced in Texas and some aren’t exactly happy campers.” A few shots offered up for his viewing revealed a blog community already heavily protesting the appearance. There in bold font protesters were being called to show up and demonstrate their support. "I think we need to be ready for a tsunami of attention. Some not so friendly by any means. I will try contacting the management of the bookstore as soon as we get off the plane or you want to cover it?”

"Ms. Knight..." Indigo had to hand it to the uniformed woman. The stewardess was insistent on performing her duties.
"Yes, I am going." Indigo shrugged and closed the laptop. "See you on the ground. Then we can deal with it as soon as possible."With that said she was up and crossing the aisle climbing back over Adley's legs. As she did she gave him a strategically placed return squeeze that would be more than enough inspiration to pull out the earbuds.

All in all the trip was a glorified parade, with multiple parade stops, that all had the flow. The blond amazon, who Wilson found out was one of Marshall’s ex-wives, would go out scope the area, have some questionable type of people removed, then the Goddess Ms. knight and her significant other would make their speeches and introductions, where upon Mr Marshall, with over the top fanfare would burst onto the scene. He had to give it to him, Marshall had charisma when he chose to turn it on. Stop after stop, Marshall turned on the charm and had the crowds eating out of his hand. So that was why Wilson looked more than a little bit confused when Ms. Knight told him to prepare from trouble.

Wilson wanted to question her, but she had already left and headed back to loverboy. He sighed, he knew he didn’t have a shot with her, but it was like salt being poured into an open wound every time he saw them together. He turned his frustration into energy in trying to focus on what he needed to be prepared for. He wasn’t allowed to his have laptop. The stewardess’ were forcing everyone to things away; and ready for landing. The landing was smooth. Too smooth. It was last thing that would go smoothly until they were airborne once more, out of Boston.

From the moment they stepped on terra firma in that place, things went wrong. Misplaced luggage, abrupt and hateful attitudes, along with what grated on Wilson’s nerves the worst.. That horrible nasally accent everyone had. Say what you will about Canadians and their ‘ay’, that was nothing compared to the Boston accent. It didn’t seem to bother anyone else, but it annoyed Wilson, so much so he was almost tempted to buy a set of earbuds he has seen Ms. Knights boyfriend wearing.

From the Airport to the Hotel, then on to the bookstore, again, issue after issue. Traffic, horrible traffic, the like Wilson had never experienced. Apparently there was an IT conference in town causing a lot of the traffic congestions. That conference was probably why Hotel rooms that were over booked. Wilson was being told he didn’t have a room, until Ms knight turned on her extra bright smile at the desk clerk, and suddenly his room had been found. He could be forgiven for thinking that the worst of it was behind them, but they hadn’t counted on what was at the bookstore.

The short ride to the bookstore turned into an hour long ordeal due to the fact, that there were so many protesters at the location, the roads were impassable. What should have been a pull up and drop off at the storefront, became impossible. Alternate routes had to be devised, which meant instead of using the front door, they were dropped off on the other side of the block and routed through a variety of stores and hallways, out a back door, into the back door of the bookstore, where there was a mob of angry people.

Wilson forced himself to the front of their group, to meet the group head on. He didn’t want Blonde going she-hulk on the crowd, because that would be a PR nightmare. Once he explained who he was, all sorts of writs, injunctions and other paperwork was shoved at him. It would take him a bloody month to get all them read and sorted out. But the upshot was, the crowd had gone by the book and the law to register their discontent and were, as the paperwork declared, right to protest.

The thing about protests is, in the United States, It's not what you say—it's the way that you say it. Your right to express your opinion is protected no matter what beliefs you hold. What matters is how you use that right. If you organize a protest that causes serious disruption, the government may be able to intervene. But with a few notable exceptions, nobody can restrict your rights simply because they don't like what you say. Which is why, the protesters started chanting and never shut the hell up. They never pushed, shoved or caused bodily harm. They chanted. Nothing anyone could say or do, could get them to shut up. He looked at Ms. Knight.. She had a way about her.. Maybe she could calm them down...

Boston had been a **** storm. Enver was glad to have left it as soon as possible. It was good he had reservations about bringing Grace after all. The second they arrived there was a strange 'feeling' to the place and Enver called both the nanny and Elizabeth to not come as originally planned. Sure, he knew some people wouldn't be so accepting, but anything and everything that could go wrong had. After a weary few days and nights and a large bonus donated to the Boston police department to have a squad car circle the block every hour on the hour, they had all survived Boston. Which meant it was time to head to New York. Hopefully they were more accommodating and open to the idea.

----

Each stop had a designated bookstore or two that Enver had hand selected especially. It was based primarily on the sole fact that they were open until at least ten or eleven p.m. New York had two bookstores within a five mile radius that had two that were open until eleven p.m. which really motivated Enver to hit them both. Not on the same day, but neither one would be bypassed. The hotel was between both locations, and while they were five star quality, Enver definitely noticed the 'swank' appeal of New York, that San Antonio and Boston just didn't have. This was laid out as three apartments on the rented floor, both with two suites that held their own bathroom along with a main bathroom. Why three bathrooms were needed in a two bedroom style apartment was beyond Enver, but it was what it was. Adley and Indigo had been given their own apartment, only because it seemed fitting, while after a debate with Lelantos, ended up with Wilson getting his own apartment, and Enver and Lel sharing one. He could share an apartment with her for a few nights, he supposed. She did make sense in the idea that it would be safest for him after things went bad in Boston. Hopefully nothing went bad and Wilson was left to defend himself.

Each book signing had it's pluses and some negatives. One bookstore just simply wasn't big enough and the lines were out to the street. The other bookstore was so large that it probably made Lelantos's job difficult as there was a lot of open space around Enver. Other than that, everything went phenomenally. Books were bought, autographs given and even a few fan pics too. All of it for some good p.r. On the third day, everyone had an 'off' day to do whatever they wanted to, Enver choosing to slip away (as best as he could with his shadow of an ex-wife behind him) to pick up a few novelty items for Grace and even for Lizzie and her daughter. The fourth night was their night to travel to Chicago, where anything and everything could happen...especially these nights.

The Skype business meeting with Nigel and Ross caught her up on the group of new artists that had apparently migrated in a beat up van all the way from California to good old Harper Rock. Currently the five were couch surfing between the van parked in back of the recently married couple’s driveway and their living room. When she returned she was informed where the van load of fresh talent was going to be next was up to her. With the typical side gossip finished up she was told to soothe a rather displeased appearing Adley who was not hard to miss in the background behind her.

Signing out she turned and discovered the guys were right. It was going to be good to get back home to the Hive where all of it would be sorted out. That much she was betting on as he was not exactly beaming with joy. She couldn’t exactly blame him. It wasn’t like she had ever been in subjected to an angry mob of picketers throwing everything at her but their kitchen sinks. People came out demonstrating and even rioting to prove what? It was a mess of all types and proportions. Stepping out of the hired car had her tasting tomato and discovering a lemon hitting the nose was quite an attention getter. Her hand brushed over the top of the lap top to soak in some of the heat before she left it abandoned on the provided desk in their assigned room.

Before retiring to the bed that was already being turned down she stepped to the curtains to view the sleepy streets of a slowly rising city. While they recharged the world would dissect what their night had left as a loaded serving of awareness. Like it or not. The reactions were mixed but the favorable was giving hope that for better or worse no closets were needed anymore. Many were showing that they could accept that they were not the monsters that some would like to make them out to be. Humanity was a fierce beast all it’s own. All of them were beginning to witness it as work.

Indigo pulled off the oversized shirt that Adley had removed hours prior and she had claimed. Leaving it on a chair that she passes her bare feet carry her to the edge of the bed. Luxury bedding and an abundance of pillows gave it the illusion that it should be better than what they usually slept on. She slid her bare skin across to meld into his own. She wrapped a leg and an arm around him and rest her face against his neck. It was large enough and nice but hardly a contender for their own back home.

Going home. It was a thought that she wanted to be a reality soon. All of it was worth the compromises, the less than welcoming receptions they endured. Awareness was taking place and Enver was doing it on his terms. It was her commitment to make sure he continued to do so with as little stress and difficulty as possible.

The whirlwind book tour was winding down. After the fiasco of Boston, Wilson was braced for the worst in New York. He was prepared to slap a cease and desist order on anyone who got within one meter of his client that did not have the proper permit to exercise a legal protest. He had even gone so far as to prepare several 1829 Notifications, should any of the protestors be organized and there at the behest of a business, agency, church or some other sort of affiliation that he could levy fines against.

However that sleepless night he spent drafting up those documents was all for naught, because Mr. Marshall once the New Yorkers eating out of his hand. There was something new in the Big Apple that Wilson had not witnessed at the other stops. Groupies. There were three 20 something females that he had thought looked familiar to him, and when he approached them, thinking they were from Boston, it turned out, they had been at every book signing in the tour. They wanted to meet and greet Mr. Enver Marshall up close and personal and were not above prostituting themselves out for the pleasure.

Deciding not to take the ladies up on their offer, he did pass on their offer to the tall Blonde body guard. Also known as Enver’s ex-wife. Last he saw of the trio was the Blond herding them not no nicely to the nearest exit. Was it jealousy or just doing her job, Wilson didn’t know, but the problem had been dealt with rather easily and effortlessly for him. For that reason, he was rethinking his reservations at his client, using an ex-wife as his security. Maybe there were exes that could be civil to one another. He wasn’t lucky enough to have one.. But then again, some people were just born lucky and with good looks. While people like himself, were born under a normal sky, with all the hardships and rotten breaks no one should have to suffer.

As Wilson lay on the bed in the hotel room, that was better than his apartment in Harper Rock, he pondered the fairness of life and lack thereof when it came to people’s lives. More particularly .. his. He had three ex-wives, all of whom he genuinely thought were good women when he asked them to marry him. But with each one, they went from deeply committed and accommodating, to cold heartless shrews that were only after his money. Contrast that to Enver Marshall, whose ex-wife now worked for him. Wilson never heard a cross or ugly word come out of Lelantos’ mouth about his client. He could say ‘hello’ to his exes and they shred him skin with their verbal assaults.

And then there Mr. Reed. How the hell did he keep Ms. Knight? That thought actually kept him up the first night he met him. Reed wasn’t horrible. But Reed was too much like him. Plain, ordinary, nothing to really recommend him. He was just a guy. Yet there were times you could slide a piece of paper between the two of them, because that was how tight they were. That boy better count his blessings, because one day that will end, and Reed will never be able to replace that. Yawning, Wilson’s thoughts moved from Reed to his own lackluster life. Apart from work, Wilson’s life was nothing special… unless you count having a vampire movie celebrity as a client. Sure one day he might be able to write a tell all book… but the sad thing was.. Mr. Marshall didn’t have anything newsworthy with which to write about. He was just a guy, that happened to be a vampire and had at one time made some movies. Shortest tell all book there was. Less than twenty words.

Wilson’s last thought before drifting off, was ‘this time tomorrow.. I should be home..’
