Character Bio
I'm pretty new to roleplaying and have started working on my CS. I have some basic information on my CS right now but have been working on an in depth back story. I guess my question is, should a CS tell your life story so that after reading it someone pretty much knows everything about your character's history, or should it be a little more vague so people actually have to talk to you if they want to get to know more about you? Or, maybe it should just be things people can see by looking at you?

Re: Character Bio
I'd say to just go with the amount of information you're comfortable with. There's no standard answer across the board. Some people prefer to spell everything out in a bio - others want to leave it extremely vague to either explore their character in writing, or for the sake of not spoiling some major plot points for their characters.
I'LL USE YOU AS A WARNING SIGN THAT IF YOU TALK ENOUGH SENSE THEN YOU'LL LOSE YOUR MIND

This. I'd add in give enough that other writers have enough to decide if they want to write one of the characters with yours. Totally up to each player though.Azraeth wrote:I'd say to just go with the amount of information you're comfortable with. There's no standard answer across the board. Re: Character Bio
It depends on which character and what's going on with me ooc when I do a CS. Some have more details than others. Some had very little. Alex's is a 'TL;DR' CS.
I can tell what I LOOK for on a CS tho.
Age, height, scent (yes, some have those details and I like to use those observations that would be noticed IC in roleplays. When I write, that is.) and just a basic description of 'how' this character might present himself. Do they seem confident or timid for examples.
I love seeing a list of roleplays on a CS. I'll often lose track of time after just taking what was meant to be a brief peek at a charry because I like their style and find a treasure trove of new stories to read I hadn't noticed before.
