It was a sight indeed. Doc and Uncle Dick sitting next to each other and there she was standing out like a sore thumb. Talking about party crashers. These two mastered the art of ruining a girls fun. Doc wins she knew she would be eyeballs deep in work. Manual labor likely involving peeling potatoes for the asylum or tooth brushing the toilets while the nuns and Mother Superior chastised her for whatever they forgot to last time she saw them. As for Mr. Sunshine. She was a bit concerned as to what was on his twisted mind. It likely wasn't sheet rock and dry walling the hole in his apartment wall. Last she checked it could be done for a lot cheaper. Charm at this point was a plan.

"Imagine my luck. My two favorite guys right here." If that didn't make things worse what could? "I can change your oil, rotate your tires and still make a killer pan of brownies."

I ignore Doc's inquiry for the time being as Dominique makes a broad claim about Doc and I being her two favorite men. It could be true, it might not be. I don't care if I'm one of her favorites, or she flat out hates the sight of me. I give her two fingers this time, before returning to Doc and his question.

"Good as new. I've been through worse." I say, putting both hands on the surface of the table before shaking my head. "No side affects. Nothing she can't fix." I nudge my head to his Dominique before raising my hand and placing another bid. "Ten thousand-five hundred." This bid pales in comparison to most life insurance plans, so I suspect anyone and everyone, including Dominique is worth that much.

I turn back to Doc and give him a small grin. "But thank you though. How's the wife? Ran into her a couple nights ago."

Doc was satisfied, the bid was now at a respectable level. He would bow out gracefully. Granted he still thought the bid was low. However, a low bid would help teach the spawn a lesson. What lesson? The lesson that said, “If you put yourself for sell with a ******* low minimum.. You need to be prepared for **** coming your way.” The fact Minx did not know this at the get go, after all she had been through, meant she needed that ******* lesson.

Doc nodded at Ric’s comment that there was no side effects, “Good.” He nodded. He made no move to raise the bid. He turned to look at Ric pointedly, “I have a septic system that needs cleaning out.. “ He shrugged a bit, “Should you need things for her to do..” He smiled innocently, “merely a suggestion only..”

Doc looked around the assemblage, “If you need some coin to secure the bid, just let me know.” He said in a low voice, while appearing not to be speaking at all.

Yes. Dominique would rue the day.

Something about the whole idea of sitting there like a bird on a wire, and increasingly hot at that, had her coming up with all sorts of ways she could have alleviated her initial boredom that brought her to the auction to begin with. Top of the list was to take a trip. A planes, trains and automobiles type thing. Skipping around during the night hours taking in the midnight sights and meeting a few night owls like herself along the way. Second runner up was to do some renovation on Vita Bella. It could use some updates. Third was to bypass all this public verbal sparring and just give the one offering up a two finger salute in her direction a few reasons why she was being sorely underestimated.

It wouldn't be the first time she was in deep **** with Doc over roughing up one of his few tolerances. Ric certainly was not there spending his ten thousand plus to whisk her away to a night of fine dining on some rooftop overlooking some foreign city skyline. Her eyes pinned back on the two and she deadpanned as they continued their low chatter. Yep. She was mentally preparing for a trip to some sort of boot camp. Boredom had just became her worst self-induced nightmare.

Ever since that fatal night, Cytherea had religiously been keeping a watchful eye on Doc; mostly his movements. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, it was more curiosity, right? At least that's how she tried to delude herself. It drained her, mentally and physically, once or twice now she had fallen asleep at work, she was surprised the staff hadn't relayed the information to Doc, or maybe they had? He always was twisted like that; was he watching her, whilst she was watching him? It didn't matter, she knew she didn't have the powers she had, he couldn't be as thorough as she was.

And that was how she ended up at the Necropolis, her slim 'brow's drawing together. Why was he here? Another opportunity for him to sweet talk more lesbians? A smile curved at her lips as she recalled that encounter, she'd deliberately played up irritation. Why? The truth be told, she actually wasn't that affected when Doc flirted, but she enjoyed the fight; his obvious delight at riling her up. She wondered if he knew, if he too was playing along for the enjoyment. No, he actually thought she was insane, that was pretty evident. Oh well, no point in revealing that card anytime soon.

Seating herself far away, but enough to eavesdrop, Cytherea waited to see how this unfolded. Who was he meeting? And as the events unfolding, a sense of pity developed in her stomach, poor Dom. It looked like Ric and Doc were in cahoots, and she was in for a world of unpleasantries. And then she'd heard Doc's last little tidbit of information for Ric; '“If you need some coin to secure the bid, just let me know.'' Mm, is that a fact. Well. Lets see how far he was willing to splurge, and in the end, he'd be paying either way. Wasn't marriage wonderful like that?

''Twenty thousand,'' she shouted, clearly and firmly, sending a wink towards Dom; hopefully she'd catch on. If they wanted to torture her, they would have to pay in buckets and spades, and either way, Doc was going to be out of money. Served him right for trying to be a twisted twat to his own childe. Using her telepathy she spoke to her step-childe of sorts, ''Lets see how high they'll go.''
With her offer cast, Cyth lifted her glass, saluting it towards her husband now.

There was no mistaking the owner of that bid. It was the Ball and Chain’s voice. Doc glanced over his shoulder just in time to see Cytherea salute him. He blew her a kiss, and grinned at her before he turned back to Ric, leaning toward him and sending him a telepathic message.

MS ~The Ball and Chain can be ******* stubborn and tenacious. Hope you have some deep pockets. ~

Aloud Doc said, “You just had to ask about her didn’t you?” He had a feeling Cytherea was intently listening to every word he said, “Don’t you know that merely saying her name is tantamount to summoning Devil spawn?.. And presto.. Here she is..bidding against you. At least this time she managed to park outside. She is an abysmal driver. Last time she drove, she parked the car in a building.

Doc motioned to a waiter, ordered a Manhattan and had it delivered to Cytherea. He gave the waiter a substantial tip with the order, “Keep her well stocked..

Readheads.. Wives. It is said you can't live with them and you can't live without them. Cytherea fit this on many levels. The woman was a wild card in any game and a reason to fold if you knew what was a safe bet. The shadow received the telmessage loud and clear and her horizons were instantly brighter. Seems the odds were finally balancing out. Not that she was doing bad. But who was she to turn down the beautiful allurist who seemed all too willing to shake things up? Her eyes went to all three and HOPE and LESS were perfectly aimed in those flesh finger guns sends shots out to all. When the invisible rounds were all fired each received a final puff to each fingertip barrel before holstering at her hips. She winked at Cyth and blew the fiery tressed lady a kiss. Several nights with Cytherea...her sires wife. Isn't that what scandals are made of?

"Welcome to the party, Cyth." She grinned rocking on her heels. "Gentleman, I do believe this just got a hell of a lot more interesting."

There was a new bidder, that caused me to glance in her direction. Doc's wife. Anyone and everyone tied to Elliot appeared to want to be a thorn in my side. Doc's message in my mind doesn't get a reply, I just keep looking at Cytherea. Doc decides to talk out loud and finally grabs my undivided attention. I shrug and chuckle ever so softly. "Well, some buildings shouldn't be standing." I think the city could do without a few buildings, but not everyone saw things the way I did. Things would be less complicated if they did.

Deep pockets? My hands dig inside of them and I shrug my shoulders. "They seem average." I finally reply to Doc's mind message before looking at Dominique. She seems cocky and confident, but I've already put a price on her head. A ball park figure, but for now..."It's only interesting if we're interested." I call out to Dominique, as I sit back in my chair. "I can go to Silks and get a girl dressed just like you for an eighth of the price. Why should I pay more?" A insult? Probably, but if you fit the part...

Oh so that was where he was going to shoot from? HOPE patted the inked flesh over the spot of her chest where a heart ended its rhythm several years ago. Her face winced as if she was wounded. In dramatic fashion LESS finally waved to the place behind her where a deep pan of homemade brownies rested. She raised an eyebrow to the vampire asking the million dollar question.

"Because I make the best brownies to touch any lips. And as for Silks you likely know they aren't selling brownies now are they?"

Kenlie watched from afar for some time, remaining near the bar where her glass stayed full. The woman kept the filter of an unlit cigarette between her teeth, and her hands stayed busy by spinning a quarter on the counter. She was watching her sire and Roderic go back and forth for a little while, until Cytherea joined in with her own bid. Was she crazy? Twenty thousand dollars was not a lot, by any means. Crinkling her nose, she hopped down from her stool and tucked her cigarette into a pocket on her leather jacket. As she approached, she locked eyes with Dominique.

"Thirty thousand for my sister."
