Mystic question

Post by Renee »

Okay so when a mystic dies, unless they have the power to keep their body, they change. Well here is my question. When you come back in a new would your character sound the same (accent wise at least) or would that change as well? Like your original character is from Australia and (if your into writing about the new bodies past (say you do research) ) and your new body is from Italy or some place like that, would you still have the Australian accent or no?

IMO

The voice would be as the new body's voice but WITH the accent. And/or gradually shift to become that of the new host's voice.

In the past, I wrote the accent as being based on the body, because my understanding of accents is that they are phonetically keyed into the brain, not personality. For a while Az actually spoke with a faint English accent, for that very reason. Because the body he took, the brain was wired for that accent.

That's what I was thinking but I just wanted to make sure before I wrote something up and just be totally wrong about it.

Thank you both for the help :D
