<Clover> Clover really wanted to repeat herself over again, just to stress the facts and share more details, but she settled for sinking down onto a sofa. The cushions sunk down beneath her sudden assault. She placed her wounded arm on the armrest and pressed her palm down on the cushion just by her thigh. “I don’t even know what to say right now. I’m probably pissed about my ******* hand. I could heal it, I think, but **** it, right?” Sighing, she raised her remaining hand and pressed her fingers to her temple, massaging it. “Kae likes to kiss and cuddle with people. One of those people happens to be Jesse. And he lets her. Or he used to let her. I assume he still does. I’m jealous of her. I don't want her touching what's mine. I don't want her too close. And yet she's my friend," she frowned.
<Raven Talius> Raven glanced to the bloody stump of Clover's hand as she listened to the words that came from her sire. A growl softly worked its way to her lips as her fingers curled into fists. "So he left you, to go after Kaelyn, who will probably want kisses and cuddles and left you behind to face off hunters on your own?" Damn she could kill Jesse, well attack him anyway. Raven was furious. Her sire had been attacked by hunters because she had followed Jesse through the fadeportal. He could have made sure that she got back to the den safely. Slowly, her fists uncurled as she forced herself to walk over to the sofa and she slipped off her leather jacket as she did so. The woman hung the jacket over the back of the sofa and proceeded to pull off the cotton t-shirt that she wore, revealing a black singlet underneath. Lately she wore a shirt and singlet, just in case she got blood on the shirt itself. She then moved to seat herself down upon the sofa and reached over to place the shirt over the stump of Clover's arm. "Don't worry, she won't get close to me. I gave her a test tonight and she failed."
<Clover> Clover tipped her head to the side, regarding her childe with something between curiosity and contentment. Perhaps they’d gone through the same fadeportal, but perhaps not. Clo hadn’t been paying attention to which portal Jesse used, only that he took off and left her, and then she’d left. As much as she wanted to blame him, the words so sweet on her lips, she just sighed and shook her head from side to side. The movement was slow, as if she had to be careful not to interrupt the moment. “I went to the slums and I made a mess. If he were here, he would have been able to help me clean up. That’s all.” That was all she needed to say, but she wanted to say more. “Do you know why I’m so worried about you, so protective of you? Part of the reason is that opening up to others does open you up to other problems. You gave her a test, but if she’d passed, what then? You let too many people in and you get stabbed too many times. People make you weak. That’s the truth. This,” Clo stopped and nodded toward her injury, “is a result of a weakness. I want to say we’re all alone. We only have ourselves. But that isn’t true either. I’ll just reiterate, be careful how many people you let close to you.”
<Raven Talius> Raven sighed as she propped her elbows upon her knees so she could rest her head in her hands. Everything that her sire said was true. She would get stabbed if she did let too many in. "He should have made sure that you were following him and I should have made sure that you went through the right portal." However, she knew that Clover cared about her and for some reason or another, she felt the need to protect and be loyal to her sire. The woman hadn't felt such a thing with anyone else and she honestly doubted that she ever would. "I wouldn't worry about me having too many friends anyway. I end up pushing them away one too many times and they leave on their own. It's why I very much doubt that I ever will find someone to let close; someone that isn't you. Because I'm too damaged, too much of a handful." Finally she shook her head and looked up at her sire, "We need to see to your arm, get it bandaged for now."
<Clover> Clover reached over with her good hand and placed it upon Raven’s shoulder. She allowed her hand to stay there for a while, just long enough for her to try and decipher the words she wanted to say. Clo had to be careful, to walk the line between friend and sire. There were so many examples of failure that she didn’t want to see her relationship with Raven crumble and fall away. “I want you to have friends though. I want them to keep coming back, to prove to you that they’re worth it. I just,” she stopped to lick her lips, “I just want you to learn from my mistakes. I want to teach you so that you’ll never experience disappointment. Even though it’s impossible. I’ll try my damndest. I saw something in you. I envied the spark I saw in your eyes and in your movements. A lot of the time, I see myself in you. You don’t need a sister figure to break your heart, to stomp all over it. You don’t need a man to show you he loves you and then dance back into his wife’s arms. And you sure as hell don’t deserve to have your childe look at you and say what you just said. My hand will be back. Once I’m calm, I can focus on healing it. Until then, let it bleed. I can at least destroy this sofa as a big ‘**** you.’” She’d removed her hand from Raven’s shoulder, but she nudged her hip to the woman’s.
<Raven Talius> Raven chuckled then as Clover mentioned childer. She killed far too many humans to be bothered to make a childe, so she found it rather humorous that Clover would ever think that she would have any. Her humanity was something that she was trying to distance herself from and she had been for so many years. "That spark you saw only rises when I get to fight someone, to feel pain spark and stab its way through my body." The woman shook her head then as she looked up at Clover and smirked, "As for family, I don't really want it, because the last family I had didn't care as to whether I died or not. However, I promised Jesse that I'd try to be apart of his, so I have been trying even though I don't want anymore siblings. I've already had a twin try to kill me and I've never let that mistake happen twice." She finally straightened her form and ran a hand through her red and black hair. "Besides, if experience has taught me something, is that you don't get to be the way you are just because you felt like it. Something happened in your past and it fucks with you in your present." Raven smiled at Clover then as she glanced over towards the silent TV. "Did you kill the hunter that took your hand? Because I'm all for going out and ripping his head off to teach him a lesson."
<Clover> Clover snapped her fingers and pointed at Raven, motioning that the woman had hit the nail on the head. Raven understood. Raven had a past that forced her to understand. Kaelyn didn’t get it. It wasn’t as if Clover woke up one morning and decided to distrust the girl. Clover had experiences that made her doubt Kaelyn; Jesse had experiences that made Clover doubt Kaelyn. “This family meant a lot to Jesse. He used to spend a lot of his time trying to hold it all together. And Kae helped him. There were parties, and we came together for the social occasions. Some of us hung out at a bar just northeast of the Newborough station. And then we started to drift apart. The family just...disappeared.” Her eyes narrowed at the many memories. It was as if she relived every single moment, unable to forget a second of the past. “You would have liked the family before. Now, I guess I can’t blame you for being wary. With your past. With the state of things,” she trailed off.

<Clover> Clover didn’t know what else to add. She could have described some times from her past, but Raven had changed the subject near the end, and Clover took the offered out. “No, I didn’t kill the hunter that took my hand. He--or she, I guess--came while I was resting and chopped off my hand. I should be glad the hunter didn’t stab me in the heart. I’ve been stabbed there enough. The shriveled organ can’t take much more.” It was a joke, a genuine joke, and she laughed.
<Raven Talius> Raven chuckled at Clover's joke, a joke that she surprisingly got. "That little wimp and a half. It's supposed to be a hunter and yet here it was creeping up to chop a vampire's hand off while resting. Such a cowardly little creature." She than clapped her hands together and rubbed them a she formulated a plan to hunt down the hunter after her meeting with Enzo later that night. Oh that hunter was going to regret ever touching her sire, this she was going to make sure of. The hunter wouldn't die quickly, oh no, Raven was going to make sure he suffered. It was at this point though as she leaned back into the sofa and smiled at Clover, but that smile soon left her lips as she knew that she would have to return back to the previous topic. "That past with Jesse and Kae, is probably why he is trying to get her back, because he wants the family to be somewhat functional again." A shrug of her shoulders was given then at what she said. The woman was just simply guessing at this point, because she didn't know Jesse all that well. "Remember what Jesse said to me before he went through the portal? He said that it wasn't my right to tell someone to prove anything, because I wasn't the head of the family."
Raven smirked then as she leaned her head back to rest it upon the sofa. "Well, when he said that, it was the moment that Kae had failed my test. For you see, when I had texted her after she had left all hurt, I told her to prove that she wasn't a spy." A shrug of her shoulders soon followed then, "I'm not sorry for hurting her, because I was only confirming my belief in your words. She can't be trusted to keep a simple conversation to herself. So, she is very much a sibling I don't want to be close to. Being stabbed once in the back by a sibling is enough for me, I don't want that to happen again in this family. So, each sibling that does try to get close, will always be tested, no matter if they try to say that I can trust them. Actions, speak louder than words, it's why I always enjoy a fight." She lifted her head so her brown hues could look at Clover then and shrugged, "It's why I'm not sorry and rarely do apologize for hurting others. Although, should I hurt you, I'd more than likely apologize because I don't want to loose what we have."
<Clover> Clover couldn’t agree more. The hunter was a coward. But one-on-one, Clover would have grabbed him, or her, by the face and crushed his, or her, skull. It would have been in one swift movement too. At the thought, Clover parted her lips and made a noise of agreement. And then she continued listening. Yes, what kind of hunter claimed a hand as a prize? What kind of hunter didn’t go for the heart or the head? Clo didn’t know. As it was, she couldn’t really complain. A hand lost was much better than a heart lost. Clover knew that they couldn’t keep talking about the hunter and her missing hand, so when Raven turned the subject around, all thoughts of smiles and laughter seemed to dissolve. It made sense for Jesse to want to go after Kaelyn and salvage the possibilities, but what about them? What about Clover? What about Raven? They suspected Kae was betraying their secrets. They knew Kae to back out of confrontations with other people. And yet he still went to her. He had to have gone to her. Or would he have gone to work?
Clover didn’t really know. She didn’t even have the opportunity to ask. “I’m not sorry either. I don’t like apologizing, unless I truly mean it. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change what I said. If she wants to eavesdrop, then it’s not my fault when she hears something she didn’t want to hear. Did I mean to hurt her? No. But the truth is, I don’t trust her. She’s hurt me enough. This family has hurt or disappointed me enough.” Clo shrugged her shoulders once to signal that she was done on the subject, but she shrugged them once more to show she just gave up. She gave up on talking about it, talking about the family. “You know,” she tried again, “you have the right to ask someone to prove loyalty to you and for you. You don’t have to be the head of the family. I don’t care what he said.”
<Raven Talius> Raven softly chuckled at Clover's words. She knew that she had a right to ask people to prove themselves, it was why she had barely reacted to Jesse's words in the first place. She sighed then and simply relaxed, purging all thoughts of their conversation from her mind. They could talk about it until they were blue in the face, but that wouldn't change a thing. "You know? I really enjoy the talks we have. We should get a drink some time," she said. The woman knew she couldn't drink alcohol, but biting down upon a human? They could do that. "Or, we could chase down a few hunters and play a little game." She snickered at the mention of game, oh she would love to terrify one of the less experienced half to death.
<Clover> Clover smiled, the expression slowly blossoming on her face. First, there was a subtle movement of her lips, and then the corners tilted upward. “We should. You know, I like bringing snacks home. We should grab two and have a little fun. If you want to snag a hunter, then we’ll snag hunters. Otherwise, I think I want a pretty blonde. I have a thing for blondes,” she grinned. Raven wouldn’t get it, since Tracy was a time she shared with Jesse. “But if we bring the snacks home, we leave no trace. We make it look like a disappearance. That means no crime scene. No screaming.” Her words were interrupted by the chirping of her cell phone. Sighing, she took the cellphone from her right pocket, struggling until she freed the device. “Great. Kaelyn.” She tapped out a message with one hand, her finger gliding across the screen to form the words. “She’s hurt that I don’t trust her, so she’s spouting ****. Let me help her out,” she sighed. She fumbled with her phone again and then crushed it in her palm, tossing the pieces over the arm of the couch. “There we go. Now where were we? Snacks. We could do that later? I'll show you how I used to handle myself? We could meet back here.”
<Raven Talius> Raven smirked as Clover started talking and planning about snagging a pair of humans. Blondes 'ey? Well, they did hold some kind of appeal, especially when they whimpered with some pathetic little hope. Silently, she listened to Clover mention Kaelyn texting her before she destroyed the phone and tossed it. She chuckled, "Make sure you text me your new number so I know where to meet you for the little hunt of our snacks." It was then that she moved to stand, stretching as she did so. "Welp. I'd love to stay and help you destroy a few more things around here, but I have a meeting with pretty boy shortly. Afterwards, I'm going to look forwards enjoying a snack with you right here in this room and possibly, right here on this couch." She winked then as she smirked, "It'll destroy this couch even more." She chuckled then as she started towards the portal, but stopped and turned back to Clover. "Oh and a pretty blonde will do just fine." Oh she could only imagine the blood shed that would happen in this very room. "Have a sleep, I'll be back to have some fun with you afterwards." The woman waved at her sire as she snagged her jacket and moved towards the fade portal to step through it.
