Vagabond Tales

Post by Charlie »

Leather-bound and visibly worn, the travel journal is only half written in as evidenced by the stark difference between the frayed and voluminous pages of the first half compared to the the thin, compressed second half. The spine of the book is cracked, and there are various rubber bands stretched across it, holding in place tickets, pictures, receipts, and cards she’s deemed memorable. It truly is as heavy and cumbersome as it looks, roughed up from its time spent at the bottom of her backpack. A quick glance reveals small, neat handwriting on unforgivably straight lines. From appearances alone, it’s author is meticulous. A deeper look reveals many days unaccounted for. The last entry is titled Remembrance Day, dated November 11th, 2015.
