Second Chances [Luther Chase]

Post by Eureka »

<Luther Case> * Luther had entered the bar and took a good hard blurry eyed look around then went to go take a seat. reaching into his pocket and pulled out a wad of $20s and put them on the bar. the man looks like he hasn't shaved in days. He had that stride about him that was confidant but also at the same time a broken man walked in those shoes. His jacket was dirty and torn in some places and he could have used a good shower and a good nights rest. Maybe two.* "Give me some rum..please"

<Eureka> The man's appearance didn't bother Eureka much. It was what had drawn her to him to begin with. So many people these days were so clean cut; showers, in her opinion, were overrated. She liked someone with a bit of animal to them. Someone who embraced their wild side. She'd followed this man to see what kind of wild he could be - she found herself both intrigued and disappointed. Maybe he was just a drunk, and there was nothing more to him. She slipped into the bar not too far behind him; her hair was up in a messy bun, dried bits of dirt (or blood) clinging to it in places. She wore a long baggy jumper she'd stolen from Aaron, and no shoes. She was entirely out of place. She didn't like going inside, anywhere. But she sat just inside the door. Watching, and waiting.

<Luther Case> *Picking up the glass, He downed it and motioned for another and told the Bartender not to skimp this time. He was being eyed by a few men sitting in the back that obviously recognized him and some very malicious grins began to appear on their faces. He just sat there and took another drink as one of the men came and took a seat right next to him and took his glass out of his hand and drank it right in front of him. Luther could only glare and then smiled as he ordered another Glass of rum but offered it to the very rude man. The man just smiled and took the drink and began to sip, before he could get his second gulp, Luther smashed his fist into the glass at his mouth, shattering it and causeing the man to bleed. Maybe even choke.* "Dont ever be so rude as to take another man's rum you asshole" * he pulled a gun from inside is jacket and Leveled at the remaining men sitting at the other table* "unless you want your companion to choke on his own blood and glass i suggest that you good sirs get him to a hospital"

<Eureka> The scent of the blood wafted toward the red-head, and she relished it. She sucked it in and held her breath, her hunger waiting just below the surface. She watched the entire scene with an avid kind of fascination, her green eyes hooded as she waited to see what the thugs would do next. How many of them were there, compared to this one man? Was he looking to get himself killed, or start a bar brawl? Though, she'd been following him for a few nights, now - brawls were his thing, or seemed like they could be. She crossed one leg over the other - now was not the time to interrupt, though she mused - if this man were like her, he could do far more damage. His threats would mean something more. The idea took seed in her mind, waiting for the nourishment to flourish.

<Luther Case> * Then men looked at him and then their companion then back to him. Four of them remained and he welcomed their challenge. All at once they rushed him and he pulled the trigger but anly thing they heard was a resounding click.* "Aww ****!"" emboldened by thier luck they came at him but he wasnt going to be easy. He took one of the eating utensils and stabbed it into one of the men's neck as he kneed the second man swung at him, Connecting with his jaw and another to his gut. Luther doubled over almost falling to his knees but he kept his balance. Raising up he grabbed the third man and slammed his head into his knee so heard he broke the mans face in as blood began to flow like the rivers of babylon. Luther was beginning to laugh as he took hit after hit and returned in kind more devastating blows. soon not one of his opponents stood. The Bartender Stood there as he looked at the bloody ex-cop. Luther motioned for him to give him the rest of the bottle rum and the man shakily handed it over* "Thank you.. but would you have any asprin? no? Well Damn...

<Eureka> Eureka watched the scene with a bold confidence; the other customers shifted out of the way. Some people walked out. And yet Eureka stayed. When all opponents were downed, she finally stood. Like a cat, lithe and silent, she made her way to the bar. There was broken glass on the ground, but she ignored the shards that threatened to break through the soles of her feet. At the bar, she nudged past the unconscious bodies swimming in the scent of blood. Leaning against the counter, arms crossed in front of her, her body turned toward the drunken ex-cop - though she didn't know he was an ex-cop. "Was that fun?" she asked, almost purred. It looked like it was fun. Though, if it were she in his footsteps, there'd be a little more blood. A little more guts.

<Luther Case> * He glanced at the girl frowned as he took another swig from the bottle* "Fun?" He shifted his eyes to the floor where the men lay in heaps of moaning and pain a couple of them dead from bleeding out* "You have an odd idea of fun. I was only finishing what they started" * He Put the bottle back on the counter and moved to pick up the gun and pull out the clip which surprisingly had been full of rounds. He wasnt out of ammo. Pulling a small pin from his pocket it puts it back into the gun and closes the hammer* "Well I should Probably go before someone gets nervous and calls the cops." * He looked back to the girl and frowned again* "So you just stood there and watched the whole thing? and didnt even bat an eye?"

<Eureka> Eureka stretched as she followed the man's gaze. She gave a small shrug. For all intents and purposes, she looked as if she would stay. As if she might let him go, and not follow. She had other ideas, however. "You don't think we could handle the cops as well you handled those thugs?" she asked, but gave another shrug. The cops were just other humans. Humans with uniforms. They were nothing special. "I've seen worse..."

<Luther Case> "Its not that. some of those cops are good men. They have families. I'd rather not be a fugitive from them. Its bad enough i have these assholes on my neck as it is. " He reaches down and scrounges through the men's pockets and pulls out their wallets and begins to take whatever money they had and place it on the counter* "For the Damage Bartender and your troubles" * He looks to the girl and Smiles* "I dont know about you but im getting the hell out of here" "Dont stay to long here. You dont exactly look like you belong in a place like this."

* He moves to the door and stops to pull some shards of glass from his fist then lick the blood clean*

<Eureka> Eureka arched backward, catching the expression on the bartender's face. Flummoxed, really. He'd glanced at Eurekaas he thought she might be able to share in the confusion, but instead he saw only a sinister smirk and a girl who'd much rather the brawl to have been much bigger. She waited until the man had left; waited until he was out on the street before she stepped out after him. There was a shard of glass in her own foot which she ignored - a mere splinter that she would pull out later, and lick clean like that big cat she sometimes believed that she was. She would wait until he was out of the light. Wait until she could have him all to herself. And then she would make her move.

<Luther Case> *Luther made his way down the street and to a corner of the street and look both ways before crossing. He wasnt going anywhere particular. Just away from all the crap and corrosion that was this city. He was really beginning to hate this place and was somewhat confused at his own actions. Did he actually start laughing as he was fighting back there? And who was that Strange girl? And why wasnt she wearing any shoes? . Luther was already tired and was beginning to look for a motel to stay in and catch some sleep. But fist he had to get First aid supplies to clean up his wounds. ******* assholes.*

<Eureka> Eureka wouldn't ask. That wasn't in her character. There were things she thought that she knew; what she saw in this man was someone down on their luck. Someone who'd hit rock bottom, just as Eureka herself had hit rock bottom. Chad had never asked her. Chad had forced this life on her, and she had never looked back. It was the best gift anyone had ever given her, and she would forgive him his absence. What did his absence matter, given what he had given her? She didn't stop to have a conversation. As soon as they were in the shadows, she pounced; her chest up against the man's back, her arms around his shoulders and her legs wrapped, boa-constrictor-like, around his torso. Without any hesitation, her canines sunk into the flesh of his neck.

<Luther Case> *He never looked back. He never heard or saw her coming. All he felt was the hard Shove and the Arms and legs wrapping around him from behind and squeezing. He felt like Whatever had him was going to break every bone in his body. He couldnt breath so he began to panic. Thats when he felt it. Something Sharp as razors bite into his neck and he grunted and let out a gurgled yell. He Squirmed and tried to get free but the grip only got tighter. He tried to go for his gun but he couldnt reach it.*
