“Seiji,” she said, “I asked you out to dinner. I’ll pay for the meals.”
She placed her hand over his and shook her head as he tried to place his money on the table. Tiamat reached down with her other hand and picked her purse up. once she had placed it on the table, Tia moved her other hand from Seiji’s and pulled out a small black wallet from the tiny silver bag. She slipped two one dollar bills from the small folds and tucked them under the glass she had used for her wine.
She tilted her head slightly at him as he seemed to collapse in on himself. Her delicate thumb and forefinger rubbed the sides of her nose softly as she sighed. Her black eyes went from the soft orbs to hardened steel as she frowned at him. Her voice lowered so that only he could hear her words to him.
“You’ve not been a great date tonight. You’ve spilt water all over the table, ruined my meal. You could have ruined my dress if it had been anything but water. You’ve nearly coughed up your lungs all over the floor. You’ve barely spoken all night. I’ve been putting myself out there and you haven’t even tried to flirt back, let alone even attempt to touch me. And, right about now, you’re probably bouncing back from worrying if this is a pity date to me being really...really annoyed.”
She sighed again before opening her mouth to speak again, “I don’t do things out of pity for others Seiji, especially going on a date. I’m here with you because I want to be here with you. I can certainly overlook the mess made tonight because, well, your nervousness is part of your charm and what also makes you cute.”
She slipped out of the booth and held her hand out for him to take it. “Now, if you’d be so kind to make some kind indication you’re interested in me here, I’d settle for gentle kissing, I’d like to take you back to my place. You can at least meet my cobra Irra and my newest pet, a lovely blue inland taipan named Ur.”

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
Guilt burrowed deeper yet at Tia’s words. She was right, of course, and it was almost scary how easily she saw through him, cutting like a knife right through his fears. He’d been so caught up in his own mistakes, he’d only made more, and he knew he was being unfair in this way. Seiji swallowed thickly and dredged up every drop of courage he could, clasping the offered hand as he stood.
His palm felt clammy, but at least he did his best to keep his hand from shaking, as well as his voice. Even though his own heart rate was currently trying to choke him to death, he somehow managed to speak almost completely evenly. “You’re right,” he answered, somewhat softly. “I’m really sorry for that, Tia. I didn’t mean to seem.. inconsiderate.” A little awkwardly he pressed his lips to her cheek, and struggled the urge to duck his gaze, giving her hand a weak squeeze. At the very least he offered her a small, but honest smile.
“I am interested, really. It’s just.. Been a really long time since, well..” he gestured meekly. “I- I guess I couldn’t believe someone as beautiful as you would have been interested in someone like me...” Here he couldn’t help but break the stare, feeling as if he’d been a little too honest. Biting the inside of his cheek, he quickly ducked for a change of topic before he made a bigger idiot of himself.
“Ur? Isn’t that Egyptian?” A good portion of his brain was pretty sure he was wrong, and he’d just failed, but there was a small nibbling suspicion in the corner of his mind that suggested he might be right, as he reached to hold the door for Tia in a sort of gentlemanly manner. Sort of, meaning that he smacked his hand off the handle, winced, and then actually opened the door without miraculously hitting either of them with it.
All he had to do was possibly not fall on his face before they reached the car, and just maybe he might have a second chance with this woman. Or faint, for that matter.

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
The spot on her cheek where Seiji kissed her radiated the warmth from his lips. She smiled slightly at his actions. He was making this far too easy for her to direct this night in the direction she wanted. He certainly seemed a little more lively for someone who had just been “scolded” for being a bad date. He’d probably have been dissapointed to learn she was merely pushing his buttons, testing him, to see what he’d do. Luckily, he’d played along exactly how the raven haired woman had planned.
She shook her head slowly as he smacked into the door on the way out to the car. She had the realization that he’d most likely never be fully cured of his clumsy nature. Though, perhaps some training could lessen the effects of it. She pulled out her small keyfob and pressed the button to unlock the doors as they walked to the car. She was still plotting out to “prepare” the young man, when he questioned her about the snake’s name.
“Ur was a city in ancient Mesopotamia. A very prosperous one that once bordered the sea coast. Of course it’s nothing but dusty ruins now.” Her words conveyed a slight tinge of sadness to them. One she quickly abandoned when she changed topics to his statement prior to his question.
“Seiji, thank you for the compliment. Also, try to have a higher image of yourself. When a woman goes out with you, don’t over think it. You’re better than you think you are.”
She released his hand when they got to her car and lifted her door up. She turned back to him and ran her slender fingertips down the side of his neck. with a small grin she lightly kissed his cheek befor winking.
“Shall we go back to my place for the night then?”

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
Seiji, in contrast, seemed fascinated by her answer. “I think I read something about that back in high-school,” he murmured, though he seemed a touch sympathetic. “It’s too bad... If you think about it, all cities go through that eventually. Everything here’ll be dust and ruins one day.” In a rare sort of moment, Seiji almost seemed wise, if a bit saddened. “The only way they really survive is through shared stories and memories. Just like people.” He shrugged a little, then shook his head. “Sorry, something my mother used to say all the time,” he added with an embarrassed sort of laugh.
The compliment in return caught him off guard, but the smile on his lips was both relieved and sincerely touched. The light kiss and touch made him shiver involuntarily, but her words eased some of his remaining anxiety. Enough so that he was still smiling afterwards, and even partially meeting his eye. Much as her confidence unraveled him, there was a friendly charm that eased his mind. He couldn’t help the heat behind his ears as she winked, but he didn’t falter as much as usual. “Y-yeah. I’d.. I’d like that,” he agreed, clearing his throat once before jumping in the car, shutting the door behind him.
While he waited for her to join him inside, he collected his breathing a few times. He was... More than a little happy tonight, enough so to forget about the past and enjoy to present and close future. She scolded him in an almost friendly way that reminded him of being a child, but wasn’t so much so as to seem parental. To Seiji, Tiamat was the one thing he’d needed that night, if not all year, to turn things around. Things might just take a turning point here, he thought to himself.
If only he knew just how right, and wrong, he was.

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
She grinned as she climbed into the car. Things were beginning to proceed better now that the boy had seemed to have gained some confidence in himself. He would need to build up on that confidence, if he wished to “perform” well in what he thought was going to a night of sex. Her idea, was far different of course. Though, she hadn’t decided on how she was to kill him in preparation for the turning. Perhaps, for him, she’d make it a more pleasurable experience. When she had fed from humans, most seemed to enjoy the experience. some even seemed to get a certain high from it. It was something that peaked her curiosity. she had studied it in a few “tests.” Often times using her thrall, other times the random stranger who thought they’d also be having a night of pleasure.
“So the place we’re going to is called Sanctuary,” She explained as her car hummed to life, “I live on the seventh floor with few neighbors. We can be as...loud as we wish to be.”
She wound her way through the narrow path of the parking garage. Before long, Tiamat slid into her parking spot and killed the engine. Turning to her companion, she ran her fingers along his leg slightly and lightly kissed along Seiji’s ear lobe and cheek. She smiled gently as she continued to play her little game with the young man’s mind. ~He makes this far too easy~ she thought as she slid back to her side and out into the cold night.
“Well, I don’t know about you, however I’d like to get inside and get into something a little more...appropriate for the evening.”

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
Seiji could hardly focus on the world zipping by his window. It was hard to believe this wasn’t all a dream, that she was really there, leading him on to what promised to be either a great or terrible night. He was way out of his comfort zone here, but he was happy all the same. He was drawn quickly out of his thoughts by her words, and when he processed them he had to turn his face away to hide how red it became. How loud would they be? He really didn’t want to think about that which open a whole new box of potential embarrassment. Sanctuary? It sounded at least like a nice place.

And it looked even nicer. He gazed in slight wonder up at the large building, but was quickly deterred from his gawking at architecture by the wonderful figure at his side. He made a small, involuntary noise of surprise, and suddenly found the dashboard extremely fascinating. Though the moment was short, the feelings that lingered were not so, but he turned his head too late to return the affections and felt a pang of guilt for his hesitation. To make up for it, he fought a few words free in answer to her comment. “Y-yeah.. I um..Yes, you’re right.” Lame, his sisters voice, a memory taunting in the back of his mind.

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
With a push of a button, the car was locked. Tiamat walked into the building and waited for the elevator to come down to the ground. She leaned against Seiji and sighed, a slight smile on her face. Anyone passing by would naturally assume she was happy just being with the tall young man. Truth be told, she just figured out how she was going to “change” him. She was certain she still had some local anesthesia. A quick injection into the neck, a slit throat, and he’d become her new assistant in no time.
The door in front of the pair made a loud beep and slid open. Tiamat slipped inside, pushed the button for floor seven, and waited.
“Well, Seiji, Heaven awaits,” she said with a playful wink.

Re: Comedic Tragedy (Seiji)
Seiji found the warm weight at his side pleasant, and he reacted by wrapping an arm loose around her, smiling down at the confident female. He’d never been fond of elevators, but his usual anxiety was all but forgotten for the moment, even as the doors shut and the sudden change in gravity took hold. Her words brought another touch of color to his face, and he sought for some sort of smooth answer. “I..thought I was already there,” he finally offered, cringing at the somewhat lame response. The uncertainty in his tone didn’t help, and he cleared his throat softly as he studied his shoes, hoping they didn’t have too many more floors left to go.
