Sharing stats

Post by Bjorn »

I know we cannot see the stats of others, including roleplay traits, which makes me wonder whether it's something shared at discretion or something generally kept to oneself / within the family. Are there advantages or disadvantages to sharing? I reckon the RP traits are shareable should you play in circumstances where the curse or powers are applicable, but what about the Powers (capital P - from your chosen path line)?

I ask because I'm working on my character sheet and don't know how much is wise to share.

I'm a naturally sharing person. I gab to everyone and anyone about what mine can do/are afflicted with.

I share all of Pi's stats cause it doesn't bother me :D

She's mildly unimpressive, and I'm a pretty rubbish gamer. She's not horrendous.

I don't like sharing powers, but I'm paranoid. I think I've shared everything with five or six people since I started playing? All out of necessity. RP curses/powers? I'm more willing to disclose. :))

I just don't have anything to hide with her. And her stats are pretty secondary to what I generally do with her (which is nearly all RP) - I figure it's just data.

Oh there's nothing wrong with disclosure. Don't get me wrong. If others want to share, I think it's fine! It's just a personal preference. *nodnod*

I don't actively share any information, but if people read threads in which my characters are involved, then they'll probably pick up on various curses or powers that my guys have. For instance, The Master has the sensory overload curse, and my writing has alluded to that on several occasions. He also has the power of hiding in the shadows, which has also been hinted at many times. Similarly, I wouldn't openly share my characters' stats, but again using TM as an example, I regularly mention what a charming bloke he is, which suggests that he probably has a pretty high charisma stat. I suppose that I'd prefer people to get to know my characters by reading their storylines rather than simply looking at a list on a character sheet.

Having said all that, if someone really wants to know some information so that they can use it in a role play scenario, then they only have to ask :)

I have been so long master that I would be master still, or at least that none other should be master of me.

Yes! It's right there, buried in the threads. For Clover, I listed her powers and curses in ooc Fforde to help with plotting/planning. I also pointed out when she obtained Extreme Depression, and hinted when it was removed.

Anyway. Yes. Love this. :P

I share both roleplay traits, and game stats, but that's mainly because I don't care about who has that information. I don't think there's really a 'right' way to do it one way or the other, so long as you're comfortable with sharing. Different strokes for different folks!
