Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Long golden hair caressed the pale, yet pristine skin of Opal Clementine. She was in the caverns, had been for a long time now. Since the talk with Kelly about her own dietary needs she had no desire to go back to the apartment where her sire, and sinclair family resided. Once her mind was on something she couldn’t get budged. Kelly was a nice guy, sure. He could also be an asshole and he had pissed off the shadow, ten fold. She had told him that she would not drink from her sire, his wife.
Despite her need for vampire blood the woman was growing weaker by the day. She was becoming thin, not yet frail. Opal needed blood, but with Nakia growing silent, Jersey doing what she does - and Kallista being protected by her obsessive husband, Opal’s blood donors were growing scarcely thin.
There had been a woman that had caught her attention. Opal had been watching her, day in day out. She had been coming to her spot. Leaning against the wall with her. They didn’t speak much. Why would they? She didn’t even know her name.
All the tattooed vampire knew was that she had hair that reminded her of black coffee, not yet black - not yet dark brown. Her pale bony hands etched out to pluck a loose sapphire from a nearby wall. She brought the big blue rock to her eyeline, and saved it by shoving it into her her leather pant pocket. She growled a little. Fangs tingling - needing blood, she always needed blood. Her hunger never satisfied. How many days now had it been since she had last fed. Six?
Stubborn little Sinclair runt she was.
Her shadow sometimes taunted her, like it normally did. Dancing back and forth. She ignored turning her eyes to the woman again, she was walking towards like she normally did around this time. Sometimes she would drop a shield down for them. This time though this time she would say something. She wanted too.
“Sapphire for your thoughts?” She said, turning her ocean blue eyes towards the brunette, offering her the blue rock. Watching her carefully. It was about time they spoke, really. They had been spending enough time together.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Progression that was what mattered when it came to training. Aviana had started in one area of the city and worked hard to get where she was at currently. She knew she had a long road ahead of her still, having only scratched the surface of what was needed to learn and work towards. Hunting in the sewers had become too troublesome, more often than not, she had ended up home and wounded from the Hunters or Paladins. The caverns had seemed the next best step, and getting to them had been no trouble at all with easy access to a portal. It had been getting home that was the tricky part. That first night after training, Avi had found herself far too tired to venture back. Not wanting to risk getting caught out in the sun, she had decided to stay in the caverns for the day and simply venture back to her apartment after resting. It seemed many others had the same idea, there were several others who lingered in the caverns. It was during that first night that Avi had seen her, the beautiful tattooed blond, sitting in a little nook area of the caverns. There was a wall behind and too one side, water lining the other side. Avi had a seat not far from the woman, her back pressing against the wall of the cavern as she looked ahead to the only direction another could enter. She had not spoken a word then, but the silence was welcoming and in no way had felt awkward.
It would not be long after this that Avi would manage to make a home bound tome for her apartment. Yet even with the convenience of being able to return home whenever she wished with ease, she still found herself returning to that part of the caverns where the fair haired woman sat. She would cast a shield upon the area when she could and had lately began to linger more often. Something just didn’t seem right, though Avi had not yet felt compelled to inquire. She couldn’t help but wonder several things about the silent stranger. On this particular evening, Avi had trained as usual but it had been in the direction of that familiar spot. As she entered, her eyes would linger over to the familiar sight as she walked in her direction. Avi would have a seat in the familiar spot, throwing up the shield as she stretched out her legs. Her eyes would linger closed for a moment but something caught her attention. The woman had spoken, and Avi’s eyes would linger over to her. A small smile played upon her lips, as she took in the woman’s words. “Thanks.” Said as she reached for the sapphire.
For a moment thinking about what had been lingering within her thoughts. She had been looking at the stone, before closing her fingers around it within her palm. Only then had her gaze lingered back to the woman. It had been days, and something seemed to be changing about her. Avi could guess, and it was truly just a guess but she had been thinking about it and could not help but to voice such a thing aloud. Maybe it was rude to assume or voice such a thing to a stranger, but it had been what she had been thinking about recently. “Are you alright? If I had to guess, it would seem you have not left the caverns recently…. I could be wrong. Are you thirsty? I could get you something and bring it back for you?” The offer was sincere, Avi couldn’t explain it but she had formed an attachment of sorts to the stranger. It seemed the right thing to do, offer something to the other woman if she needed it. She had given her a sapphire after all, and the quiet company had been far nicer than being home alone for the past few days.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
It was a while before the woman spoke up then, reaching out to pluck the sapphire from her grasp. She opened her palm fully letting their skin brush against each others before she pulled her palm away. Opal wasn’t one of those girls that were sentimental. She really wasn’t. The sapphire itself was a way of saying thank you for the shields.
It had helped her training against the shaman’s and lessers but tonight she was tired, tired and hungry which put Opal Clementine in a grumpy mood. The scottish lass rarely had a grump on but tonight she had a mood on her - she wanted to open the vein of every vampire around her and she knew if she did that it would mean the death of her.
Death would be swift, and quick.
“Yer welcome, lass.” Came the strong scottish accent. Chapped lips parted into a smile, as she raised an eyebrow in the direction of the brunette. Taking a moment to soak up her looks. Oh yes, she was a delicate specimen, something that should be treated with care, and she would do just that.
“No.” She started, eyes transfixed on the nape of her neck. She fought the urge to jump the woman, to bury her fangs into her and drink from her. She grabbed at the wall and held herself up, not for strength - to stop herself for lunging. Fingers dug into the wall lining of the cavern.
“I’ve been here for six days.” She said. Shrugging her shoulders. “Had a fight with the sire’s husband, over my sire. So, here am I. Avoiding him like the plague.” She gave a dry laugh, as if the argument was some kind of petty thing.
“I’m very thirsty.” She told her, instinctively licking her lips. “My dietary needs are different to yours.” She said, shrugging her shoulders. She knew she probably wouldn’t catch on. Why would she? Not every vampire you came accross knew of another vampire that drank solely from other vampires. Those who drank from other vampires couldn’t feed on humans, or even blood bags - or animals. Opal had tried them all since drinking Kallista’s blood. Threw them all back up.
“You don’t need to worry about it, as soon as the argument blows over. I’m sure I’ll be able to feed again.” Fat chance.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Aviana sat with her back pressed against the cavern wall. Her head hung tilted as she looked over to the woman beside her. Her fingers played over the sapphire she still held, the feel of the stone helped her focus. As the tattooed blond spoke, Avi would note her accent. She couldn’t help but want to listen to her speak further. Avi surly had an accent of her own, but the Chicago accent was far less interesting when compared to how the woman beside her spoke. Just upon sight there seemed to be several differences between the two of them. Avi had always considered her own appearance to be quite plane. Noting compared to the beautiful near exotic look of the stranger beside her. Just with the way she spoke, paired with the visible tattoos Avi could see, had her forming such an impression of her.
This all made it quite easy for the woman to hold her full attention as she spoke further. Explaining how she had been in the caverns for six days. Six days without feeding?! Avi could imagine how horrible she would feel to have gone so long without feeding. The caverns were not like the sewers, at least in the sewers there were rats to drink from. Avi had to stop her thoughts from wondering, and she would listen intently as the woman spoke further. A fight with her sire’s husband over her sire? It had been tempting to inquire what had brought on the fight, but Avi would hold her tongue. It would perhaps have been rude to press too much in another's personal affairs.
At the woman’s words of thirst, Avi would bite lightly down upon her own lower lip for a moment. Her eyes held to her sympathetically, as to say of course you are. What was shared next had Avi curious though. How were her dietary needs different from her own? Clearly the woman beside her was a vampire. All vampires drank blood…. Right? The confusion perhaps played a little in her eyes. What the woman shared next, really had her thoughts turning. What about this argument was preventing her from feeding? Avi first thought maybe the woman didn’t feed from humans. She knew blood bags were expensive, that perhaps a fight with her sire’s husband had left her without funding.
Yet that didn’t make any sense, money was easy to come by within this city. Several things could be found, items that the shop owners were always willing to buy (such as the sapphire she held in her hand). ”I’m sorry things are not going well with your sire and her husband. Surly things can be worked out? I don’t know much about those type of relationships… I have not seen the vampire that turned me in many many months, not that he and I were ever close or anything.” She would stop herself, before rambling on even further.
Aviana still held the urge to help this woman in any way she could. ”Do you not drink blood?’ The question just slipped, but she was curious. How exactly was the woman’s dietary needs different from her own? ”I’m Aviana by the way….. Figured at least we don’t have to be such complete strangers now?” Said with the small play of a smile. Introductions could somethings feel so silly and awkward. Yet in this case, it felt a little odd that it had taken her so long to introduce herself to the other woman. “There is no telling how long before the argument blows over with your sires husband… At least until then there might be something I could do to help? We could get you something to drink…. Surly it does not rely on your sire alone?”

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Opal shook her head. Things were good between her and her sire. It was just that asshole Kelly. She laughed a little. “Nah lass, me and Kallista are perfect. It’s just the husband. He’s a twat honestly with his protective ****.” She shrugged her shoulders. Her nails still dug into the lining of the cavern wall.
She was so thirsty - to the point it was burning the insides of her throat. Despite her hunger, Opal seemed transfixed by the woman in front of her. She was in awe of her raw yet natural beauty that she was. How could someone be so naturally perfect? She kept the comment to herself. She didn’t want to frighten her, why would she? Considering she could be quite scary sometimes with the way she spoke. Not many people knew a scottish lass.
She spoke though, about not seeing the man who had made her for a long time and she simply blinked her long, yet thick eyelashes at the woman. Perplexed. Her sire had always been constant person there for her since her turning into one of the immortal. She knew the woman before she was even turned, they were friends - roomies.
They raided together - Kallista knew what she was a sorcerer, and she knew what Kali was, a vampire. She simply couldn’t imagine being turned into a vampire and not having contact with the one who made you.
“I feel for you, lass.” She said pushing her free arm out to touch her shoulder gently in a comforting manner. “Have you learnt how to be a vampire on your own?” Opal was grateful for the family she had, how they had been there for her in her time of need - accepted her as a vampire. She just couldn’t get her head around the idea of being alone in this world.
“I drink blood.” She said nodding her head. She could see where this was going, Aviana was curious. Most people were. “I’m Opal. Opal Clementine.” All this time spent together and they had only now just exchanged names. Odd, but they were out of the way now. They could move forward.
“She’s one of the few that understand. That and my two siblings.” She said. “They are both busy.” She leant in close so her mouth was inches away from her ear, she whispered her next few words. “I drink vampire blood. It’s frowned upon by the community. It’s all I can drink. I haven’t drunk in days because I haven’t been able to drink from Kali, because of her husband.” She paused. “That’s why it’s so hard for me.” Do you know how hard it was to find a willing donor?

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Avi listened intently, as the vampire beside her spoke further. There was obviously something she was missing. What about the overprotective husband would be preventing her from feeding? She wouldn’t question or press for answers to her curiosity, but would simply be a listening ear. Sometimes it was nice just to have someone that would listened. Avi surly missed that about some of her friends back in Chicago, well the friends that had stayed true. Sadly even they were gone now. None had voiced such to her before, but was certain contact with those from your past life was a big no no when becoming a vampire. She couldn’t help but wonder what they thought had happened to her, but tried not to dwell on such often. Sometimes it was just best to forget and move on when you had to, no matter how painful it could be.
The woman had surprised her then, with the simple touch to her shoulder. It was such a simple gesture, but oddly Avianna found true comfort in her kindness. It felt truly sincere, and her words had Avi smile a little. “Some things, yes. Though I have met a few other vampires that have been a big help. I just hate to bother them too much about things…. They didn’t chose to turn me, so I’m not a responsibility they should have to deal with. I keep to myself a lot, just try to stay out of trouble the best I can.” Her last words were shared with the small play of a smile, but the words were all complete truth. She didn’t go out of her way to attract attention to herself, to what she was.
The woman was speaking once more, and again held her full attention. It wasn’t hard, the way she pronounced her words drew her in. Not to mention her appearance, she was strikingly beautiful. Had she been able to feed from humans, Avi would have seen this woman having no trouble luring away any human alone. She had shared her name then, Opal Clementine, such a lovely name Avi would note within thought. It felt fitting, even if she didn’t know the woman all that well. Yet it seemed the more Opal spoke, the more questions would swirl within her mind. She did drink blood? Avi drank blood, but Opal claimed to have different dietary needs?
All was made clear though, as Opal had leaned in close and whispered. At first Avi had been a little distracted by the closeness, but would quickly pull herself back to the conversation. So her sire and siblings were the only ones who understood? From the brief mention of her sire and siblings then, Avi got the impression that they were all very close. Avi imagined had she, herself, had something like that, perhaps her transition would have been easier. Avi still felt there were many things she struggled with and was sure there was much more for her to learn about what she had become.
Aviana perhaps didn’t find it all that shocking when the woman admitted that she had to drink vampire blood. Avi had never heard of vampires that did such, but she could not exactly understand why such a thing would be frowned upon. It all came together then, the over protective husband, who didn’t want Opal drinking from his wife. Was it because Opal was beautiful? Maybe he was jealous of something sinking fangs into his wife? Or was it all just the idea of it being an act that was frowned upon?
This time it was Avi who would reach out in a comforting way. Though her hand didn’t rest upon the woman’s shoulder. Instead she would turn her wrist up and hold it out to her. “I’m sorry Opal…” Only the few words shared, but the look she held told of so much more. It showed that she was sympathetic towards her struggles, but most importantly that she didn’t judge her in any way over what she fed from. ”Can you feed from any vampire?” Those words had been pressed upon the woman’s thoughts, only Opal would hear them. It was why Avi had held her wrist to her, she would be willing to help if she could. ”It seems quiet here, though we could go somewhere else if you want? I have a couple of places around the city.” Avi felt more than willing, she could not imagine going days without feeding and then to sit in an area surrounded by the very things that held the blood craved.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
Sorry. People were always sorry, she wasn’t. Things were said that obviously needed to be said, maybe she was the feral vampire Kelly made her out to be, perhaps she did belong in the dead zone as she liked to call it, she did get dirty often in the sewers with moss in her golden tresses, she could pass as a zombie, perhaps even a feral for sure.
Ocean blue eyes looked at Aviana with mild curiosity, she tipped her head back slowly. Revealing the pale nape of her neck as she used her other hand to brush hair from her face.
She laughed though, you couldn’t knock the brunette’s enthusiasm despite her predicament in the sire area. “Well, as sucky as it can be. I think you’ve done alright for yourself. You’re down here. Can you kill these guys?”
She threw the thumb over her shoulder pointing at a worker. He wasn’t paying them any heed, he was simply sharpening his blade. Watching everyone with a weary eye and with good mind too, people loved to kill the workers. So did she when she was feeling 100% and not thirsty.
Ocean blue eyes turned back to the brunette before her with a cheeky smile upon her lips. She didn’t give anything away. Nothing just yet, the smirk dissipated within seconds when she saw Aviana outstretched her arm to her and then turned it upside down to reveal the wrist. Opal stared at it, blinking a few times before dragging her hues up to look at her face.
The look she gave her stopped her dead. She didn’t move, she was as still as a statue staring into those big, empathetic eyes of hers. She was sympathetic, she could tell that much as she slowly out stretched her own arm and slowly curled her hand around the wrist, watching her. Her ocean hues never once leaving the woman’s beautiful face.
Words pressed into her mind. It wasn’t uncomfortable. Jersey spoke in her head sometimes it was a telepath thing people did, which proved that Avi was that of the telepathic nature. Cools.
“I can.” She said out loud. Watching the woman, she didn’t drop the wrist but she made no motion of biting, she simply held it for a moment her thumb brushing against the flesh of the wrist, stroking the skin is such a gentle manner that was unlike the characteristic Opal Clementine held.
“Do you want me to… feed from you?” She asked the woman.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
At the mention of the workers, and if she could hunt them, Avi would just smile and give a small nod. At first she had only had rare moment of success, now she had far less trouble hunting in the caverns. It had definitely paid off, and the workers were not like those she had hunted in the sewers. At least she was safe from what she hunted now. Maybe it was the other vampires that lurked, that she should have feared. Though so far she had not been harmed by any other them. The only thing that happened was the occasional vampire trying to rob her while she slept. Avi never carried cash on her, so truly it was a pointless task for someone to try and steal from her anyways.
Opal was different though, not once had she tried to steal from her. Even before they had spoken, Avi had found she felt quite comfortable around the woman. As Opals eyes had lingered to her, Avi would note her smile, and then the moment the smirk faded. Had it been wrong of Avi to have offered such a thing? It’s not like Aviana would expect anything in turn for what she offered. She just simply wanted to help another. This woman was not just anyone though, it was someone Avi wished to get to know better. Opal had shared the secret of her dietary needs, one that was apparently frowned upon by other vampires of the city. She had trusted Avi with such knowledge, and just that small gesture had her intrigued and wanting to return the offer of trust.
Her gaze lingered, watching as the beautiful woman beside her seemed frozen for a moment. Was it shock, fear? Avi simply waited… Her eyes wouldn’t drift from hers, but felt when she had taken hold of her wrist. Not once would Aviana flinch, or make any movement to suggest that she was unsure of what she was offering. A small smile would linger at her lips, she wanted Opal to feel comfortable. Wanted her to know that she didn’t judge her for what she drank. Vampire blood, human blood, it didn’t seem all that different to Avi. Yet she still know very little about what it meant to be a vampire, but regardless, her choice of offering her wrist would still have been the same.
As the woman spoke then, and it confirmed what she had assumed. She could drink from any vampire, but there was always the chance that she didn’t like to drink from just any vampire. Avi knew the blood she drank could vary in taste. Was it the same with vampire blood? With Opals question then, Avi would not hesitate a moment with her response. ”Yes, I want you to.” Her words sounded sure, because she was sure. Perhaps any other time she would have added a, if you want to, but Avi didn’t want to even suggest at that this was something that she didn’t want.
”I know you must be thirsty…. I’m sure it’s not the same, but maybe it will help until you can feed from your sire again?” Avi had been drained of blood in far worse ways. She would have no trouble getting more blood for herself, should Opal chose to feed from her.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
The first thing Opal wanted to say was that she could get hurt, Opal would hurt her - some vampires had painful memories of their turnings. To be bitten again, whilst a vampire. Seemed to shake up vampires.
It would shake Opal up - if she had a bad experience with her own siring, but she was lucky Kallista had been so gentle, had let her be a blood thief one last time. Even as a human she had a pair of her own fangs. The blood thieves had chiselled her canines into fangs for easier access to a vampires vein.
“If your sure..” She said as she brought her lips towards the wrist and planted a small, yet gentle kiss. She brought her own ocean hues back up to look at Aviana. “It’s a personal experience.” She said nothing else, her eyes dropped to the vein of the wrist, she could feel no pulse but the skin was alluring.
Opening her mouth - her canines extended showing two sharp fangs poised to break the skin of the wrist. She wasted no time she brought her mouth down and began to drink, the blood was cold - as it should be, when inside the host of a dead corpse.
It was addictive though, eyes fluttered closed and she drank - drank as much as she could. Strength was flowing through her - even if it was for the briefest of moments. Opal outstretched her own arm wrapping it around the waist of Aviana’s and pulled her closer - gently, so they looked like two bodies entangled within a romantic embrace.
Minutes felt like hours, she was drinking and drinking. She didn’t know how many pints she took until finally her fangs retracted from the wrist. Eyes as blue as the ocean lifted to look at Aviana. Her hand never left the waist - holding her in case she had become weak from the blood exchange.
“Did I hurt you?” Was her first question. “Did I take too much?” Was her second, worry was in her orbs.

Re: Sapphire for your thoughts [avianna]
She couldn’t help the way she took in the woman near her. Her thoughts seemed to continually be placing details of her to memory, the artistic habit of remembrance, to be used for later inspiration. What struck Avi the most, was the beautiful color of Opal’s eyes. They looked to be filled with the color of the bluest ocean, one of vast beauty that Avi could easily have seen herself becoming lost within. Her attention didn’t stop there, but would linger over other details of her facial features. As Opal spoke, Avi would parrot her words at first. I’m sure….. Very sure.” The words would be spoken softly, but were by no means hinted with any sort of hesitation. The more she thought about it, the more she came to realize that she did want this. It wasn’t the idea that the woman needed her. Surly something could have changed, posing another opportunity for the woman to feed. It was simply the idea that Avi could be of use to someone, could matter, ever for something as simple as a food source.
As Opal lowered her lips to her wrist, she would brace herself, not knowing fully what to expect or how it would feel. Avi didn’t exactly have an accurate memory of her turning, though most of that traumatic experience she had tried hard to push from her thoughts. This was not a life she would have chosen for herself, but she was trying now to make the most of it now. It was surprising though to feel a gentle kiss placed against her wrist then. Opals eyes had lingered up to her yet again, and Avi would smile reassuringly. She could certainly understand how such could be a personal experience. That very knowledge had Avi wanting even more to share such an experience with her. Opal’s fangs had sunk in then, and the pain was something more than she imagined. It hurt, yes, but the surprising aspect had been to find that she enjoyed it.
She couldn’t help but watch, and feel the pull upon her vein as the woman drank. As Opal’s arm moved around her waist, Avi would not hesitate in moving in close against her. For a moment she would even rest her head gently against her shoulder. To any passerby, it would look as if the two were simply resting. Many did such within the caverns oddly. The moment seemed to linger on, and part of her wished it never had to end, this moment of closeness shared with another. In the moment, she could not help but be faced with the reality of just how alone she often was. Then it was over, far too fast it seemed. Avi would raise her head only a little, but still linger close. The first words shared, had her smile linger a little brighter. ”You didn’t hurt me, and you could have even taken more if you wanted.” It was heartwarming, the hinted worry of Opal’s words. Yet another aspect of the beauty that had Avi thinking even more fondly of her.
”Did you get enough?” Avi voiced her own concern then. She could feel her own thirst lingering, though it would be no trouble at all to return home and feed from the blood bags she had access to there. She couldn’t imagine herself leaving right away though. There was simply something so incredibly pleasant about being close to the beauty beside her.
