The following transcript was a live chat roleplay
*Emma* Emma had spent most of the day indecisive, about how to wear her hair or what to wear that evening. She had changed countless times before deciding upon a fitting pair of dark denim jeans and a long sweater that clung close and gathered at the waist. The fabric was soft and the pastel pink color paired well with the moon kissed white color of her completion. She has curled her hair and put it up, though ended up letting it down, and simply pinning back her bangs with a decorative flower clip. The moment the sun would set, Emma would slip on a pair of black boots and set out with her three animal companions. Two were Alaskan Huskies, one solid white and the other a mix of white gray and brown. Apollo and Artemis, they were siblings and Emma had had them for over four years now. The third was a Miniature Pinscher named Alexander, he was almost ten years old. She took them for a short walk and then got them settled back at home just in time for when Tright was to meet her. Emma would head out once again, only to linger in the lobby area of the sanctuary.
*Tright* Tright had never met anyone outside of those he passed on the street. He was nervous, and very much uneasy with his appearance and look. Since he had come to Harpers rock the only person he had known was the one that had changed him and he had not seen her in over a year, now he was meeting someone, someone who was not a thief, cop or human but like him someone the city had basically engulfed and he found her company amazing. He tried over and over to look like he was something more but his few belongings and lack of wardrobe were not doing him justice, he pulled on the white t-shirt that the jacket he had found months ago would cover the tear in the shoulder, one of his two pairs of jeans he had managed to buy with his meager earnings and his boots the only thing he still owned from his old life. He finished getting himself ready and left his small tent hidden deep in the underground world of the city to meet with Emma, his only acquaintance in the city.
*Emma* She started to get a little worried that he might not be coming. It was still early, so there was no need to have such thoughts. Taking hold of a small curl of her red hair that hung over her shoulder, she would twirl it around her fingers nervously as she decided to step outside the building and wait for him. Her eyes would linger around but she didn't see the man at first. Maybe he wasn't coming? Emma would bite down lightly at her bottom lip with the permanent vampire fangs she was still not used to having. Her and Tright had met under an unusual set of circumstances, but she was rather fond of his company. The young vampire was looking forward to seeing him again. The man was attractive, and kind (even if he had stolen her wallet the first time they met, he had given it back) and he was like her.... a vampire.
*Tright* He stopped just down the street when he saw her standing outside, he could feel a change, he stood in the shadows a moment watching over her, feeling like a school boy ashamed of his awkwardness, what the hell why was wrong with him he had jacked hundreds of wallets, watches and other things he was never afraid of anything before. Seeing her though scared the crap out of him, he was nervous.. A deep breath and he approached further hoping to catch her eye with a bright smile.
*Emma* Catching sight of him then, her smile would match his as she made her way in his direction. To say she was happy to see him, didn't quite do how she felt justice. The young shadow would only stop once she stood close beside him. "I'm so glad you could hang out with me this evening." Shared as she smiled still, it seemed unfading. So odd, the way she felt all giggly and nervous inside. "How was your day? Mine passed rather slowly...." the last of her words fading, it might have sounded silly for her to confess it had been the excitement of the evening that had the day drag on.
*Tright* He watched as her eyes sparkled* my day was too long I couldn't decide how to dress for you *he opened up with a small laugh*
*Emma* At his words her smile would brighten a little more. "How to dress for me?" Said as her hand would brush over the shoulder of his jacket. "You look absolutely perfect.... Think I must have changed at least ten times." Shared as she would fidget a little with the bottom of her sweater. Emma would loop her arm through his, as to walk at his side then when they chose to set off to wherever they were going. "I wasn't sure what you might want to do this evening? There is a bar nearby that has pool tables and such or if you wish for a more quiet setting we could maybe have a walk along the river? It's quite nice." She didn't care, the idea of spending time with him was what mattered. She found him incredibly easy to talk with. He never seemed to mind the way she rambles on.
*Tright* hmm lets just see where our legs take us, you know there is a spot on the river where they say you can make a wish upon the night and it will come true... *he felt stupid even saying it* well it's a nice place to talk anyways....
*Emma* It sounded absolutely perfect! "It's settled then, the wishing spot sounds lovely. Please lead the way." She definitely looked forward to talking with him more and getting to know him a little better. Emma was not used to knowing so few, being she came from a small town where everyone knew everyone. There had always been someone to talk with, though here she spent far too many hours left to her own thoughts.
*Tright* He walked along the water till it came to an open setting where a few trees some shrubs grew and a soft sandy beach laid along the river between building. He walked with her over to the sandy beach and pulled off his jacket not thinking and set it on the sand for her to sit on. "So you what do you think?"
*Emma* She walked along as he lead the way. Happy for the company at her side, and the thought of knowing she was not alone this evening. Things had been getting her down, being alone so much. She was grateful for the job her sire had given her, though with so much work there was hardly time for meaningful conversations. As they neared the place, Emma's smile would linger once more as he took off his jacket and put it down for her to sit on. Such a gentleman he was, kind and considerate. As he asked her what she thought, her eyes would not drift away from him as she spoke. "Absolutely perfect...." only then would she look around, and it was a beautiful spot. The night sky was so clear and the light of the stars even seemed to sparkle across the water She would have a seat then, her eyes lingering up at him. "Join me?"
*Tright* *he sat down beside her and turned and looked out into the darkness of the water* I remember what it was like to sit in the sun and watch the water flow, but those days are long gone.*he sighed
*Emma* Follow his gaze out over the water, she would ponder over his words. He spoke of the sun, and she too missed the warmth of its glow. Though she was used to darkness, where she grew up there were times of complete darkness though also of absolute light. " Maybe you will see it again one day? I have heard of a power one can possess to do such a thing?" Shared as she looked to him. Her eyes would linger back out over the water. "So how does it work? The wishing?" Asked then as a playful smile would hint her lips.
*Tright* *the smile crept back to his face* well you have to wait for the moon light to hit you as it comes up over the ridge and hits the water then you wish upon its glow and the water.
*Emma* "A wish made upon the glow of the moon? It sounds so mystical and it would seem I have only more time now to think of my wish." Spoken as her attention lingered back over to settle upon him. It was so nice, to share the company of someone she felt comfortable around. "So what shall we talk about while we wait on the light of the moon?"
*Tright* How about we start off with you telling me why you hang out with those dogs of yours?
*Emma* She couldn't help but smirk at his mention of her dogs. "Just always loved animals. Was always bringing them home.... would drive my parents crazy." She shared the words as she pulled out her wallet and would flip to the pictures she had of them. She had never had children and her pets had always been like family. They were really the only family she had left now. Emma would show the picture of Alexander first. "This is the old man, his name's Alexander.... I have had him ten years...." flipping then to a pic of the two huskies. "This is Apollo and Artemis, I adopted them from a pet rescue about four years ago, they are siblings. They are all I have left of my family and that old life I had. I used to run a dog grooming business.... Though I'm not sure what might have become of it now. Ryland said I can't contact any of them..... it's hard, and I can't help but wonder if they will be looking for me." But maybe she had said too much but she didn't want to stop. " Guess the dogs are like my way of holding on? That must sound a little crazy..." her eyes would shy away a moment and look back out to the water as she spoke. "Do you like animals?"
*Tright* He contemplated the question did he like animals? hmm I guess I don't know I have never really had animals.
*Emma* Never had animals? Emma found it hard to even think about such a thing. " Well, maybe you could meet my dogs sometime? We could go to the dog park one evening?" So maybe is was a ploy too at getting to see him again after tonight? She held no shame in knowing that, the evening with him now had only started and she already seemed interested in seeing him again after this. "So tell me, what brought you to this city of vampires?" She was curious, though if it were too personal she would understand is he didn't wish to respond.
*Tright* I was lured into the city by felicity, she basically told me about this life and I thought why not my other life was not going anywhere so here I am. He was very much enjoying his time with you first time in a long time the city didn't seem so dismal
*Emma* "Your sire lured you here? Are the two of you close?" It just sort of slipped, the whole sire relationship thing still confused her a little. "I have never spoken much with my sire.... He doesn't seem the talkative type. I know him and his girlfriend live in one of the upper apartments of the sanctuary. I have never met her. Though part of me feels maybe he's a little ashamed of having turned me?" How silly was that? But Emma could not help but feel at times maybe she was just turned on a whim, because he felt sorry to have found her near death. Odd how easy it was to open up and talk about such things with the man who sat beside her.
*Tright* No we are not close, we have not spoken in a year, or longer and I am doing ok for the most part I must admit though meeting you has become much more interesting in the city
*Emma* It was a little unsettling to hear he was not close with his sire. Was that just how it worked? Emma wasn't sure, but they had all the time to work that out later. Maybe he would become close with his sire and maybe one day Emma would come to know hers better. His last words had her smile play once again. She liked how he could stir up a smile from her with such ease. "It certainly is nice to have someone to talk with, that talks back. I love my dogs, but they are not much for conversation." She would tease a little. It was absolute truth though, especially lately Emma often found herself talking with the three pups.
*Tright* Well I am sure they have much to say but whether or not it is relevant to the situation you are in it may be a bit misguided lol. *he reached out and touched her hand as the moon began cresting the mountain*
*Emma* She found humor in his words, so her expression of amusement lingered. With the touch of her hand, it felt natural for her to take hold of his hand and hold as she leaned a little closer at his side as she looked out upon the sight of the moon. "Its beautiful.... Thanks for bringing me here." She was glad they had this quiet moment, and were not overshadowed by some over crowded area. Emma hated that she had to focus on certain things when in public. Like to cast a shadow, or never to open her mouth too wide for fear of some human catching sight of her permanent fangs.
*Tright* He took her hand and as the light of the moon reached up the banks of the river and shined upon them he made his wish.
*Emma* She would give his hand a light squeeze, watching as the moonlight danced over the water. It was beautiful and she couldn't help but tease a little. "So you just make a wish? I don't have to throw in a coin or something?" She would joke with her words and think then of her wish.
*Tright* Nope just wish upon the light * he smiled at her*
*Emma* "Sounds easy enough. I thought of my wish, guess it's just a wait now to see if it comes Watching the water Emma would imagining herself walking out over the water as it reflected the beautiful light of the moon. "So how did you come across such a lovely spot? This city has its share of scary places, though it seems to hold a beauty of its own." Emma had oddly come across the city in passing. She had just planned on staying the night after having had car trouble but fate had other plans it seemed. This strange unfamiliar town was now to become her home. She had wished it would become more of a home, a place where people wanted and cared about her.
*Tright* Just walking about the streets, there is good things and bad things about the city, like the qz ugly place full of creatures or the catacombs, but then there are places like jardin and the shops they have the beauty
*Emma* "The jardin? Never heard of such a place before. Honestly I have not explored much around the city. Mostly just stick to the area around the sanctuary where I stay." She almost felt a little foolish admitting such a thing. "Have you lived in the city long?" She didn't know if such was appropriate to ask, yet she couldn't help but be curious.
*Tright* I have been here over a year now since my sire called to me
*Emma* "Called to you?" And with that Emma would laugh a little at herself. "Sorry, I tend to be full of questions at times. It's just so much about this new life, this city.... Much of it is still so confusing to me." Shared as her gaze would linger over to him and she couldn't help but smile once more.
*Tright* yes I just felt I belonged here and I sought her out and well the rest is history
*Emma* "I was actually on my way to vacation in california, i had been driving down from Alaska... Had never taken a vacation by myself before." With a small shake of her head, recalling those that advised against her going. Especially her older brothers.... "I stopped here in town to stay for the night because of some car troubles. Never got to leave that morning." She recalled very little of what had happened. Her throat had been cut, she remembered all the blood and how her sire had found her.
*Tright* I see, I am sorry that you got stuck here, that's not really a choice, but I am glad that you're here now. I must tell you I don't have many friends, and I just well i'm not entirely social, as you can imagine being a pickpocket doesnt bode well for someone. But hey I am making my way..
*Emma* "I'm thankful to be alive at least..." if what she was could be considered alive. Emma had never grasped the concepts of the whole living dead. She gave his hand a light squeeze. " You can definitely count me as a friend now..." she hoped he would think of her in such a way, dare she hope that it could lead to something more. Emma missed having connections, being close with others. She found herself intrigued to know more about this man beside her. "I think you're making your way just fine... and I have a feeling things have to be looking up for us soon."
*Tright* oh how do you figure that? *he smiled
*Emma* "Well...." She would smile and lean in as she spoke then. "We both just got to make a wish on the moon light. Definitely looking forward to mine coming true."
*Tright* *he smiled* an old man once told me the best way to have a wish come true is to make them come true for yourself
*Emma* Her eyes would still linger in his direction. "That is definitely some great advice. Think I might just do that, work at making my own wish come true." And this was definitely a start, being here with him.
*Tright* *he leaned into her* I really do enjoy this spot it's very peaceful compared to the majority of the city. I always seem to be on the wrong side of the things. *he laughed a bit inside knowing that the distance he felt from the city was quite unique
*Emma* As he leaned in closer, her cheeks would have flushed if she had still been human. Emma made no attempt at pulling back, she found comfort in the closeness. "It really is a beautiful spot.... Thanks for bringing me here and sharing this with me." she knew she would likely visit this place again, if anything just to be reminded of him.
*Tright* Tright had never met anyone outside of those he passed on the street. He was nervous, and very much uneasy with his appearance and look.
