Is there a rule for forum banners?

I know the majority use 500 x 200 or 500 x 250, but is there a rule?

I know about avatars it says: Maximum dimensions; width: 120 pixels, height: 300 pixels, file size: 100.00 KiB.

And on the character sheets, it gives you the size dimensions.

But I can't find anything for the forum signatures. So for example, if I wanted a 700 x 200 banner, is that acceptable?

There is a rule. Or was and as far as I know that rule still applies. Or did half a year ago or so. But nope, not seen that rule around for a while. It would be good to know.

Graphic Sizes

Forum
Avatars for the forum should be no larger than 100kb and 120 pixels wide x 300 pixels tall.
Banners for the forum should be no larger than 200kb 500 pixels wide x 200 pixels tall.
Grid Character Sheets
Grid CS Avatar (displays on character sheet, 150 wide by 500 high)
Grid CS Banner (displays on character sheet, roughly 746 wide by 150 high)
Banners and Avatars are considered OOC, and not visible on the IC forums including CrowNet.

Yeah that thread's a bit outdated... Plus David was always against stickying it because it creates clutter to have a lot of stickies - and all of the relevant info should be on the Wiki.

Are there any rules concerning off-site URLs in the signature area that one should be aware of?
