The moment he started talking about wanting to buy silver bullets, her stomach dropped. Kaelyn was suddenly very nervous. Was this man a hunter? If he wanted to kill other supernatural creatures, then he would surely want to kill her kind as well. Her kind...but not her, right? She still felt like this man could do her no harm. Maybe if he found out about her, he’d change his whole opinion on supernatural creatures, or at least vampires. She leaned against him a little as they walked, reassuring herself that he was ok, she was safe.

“I’ve not been to Europe...actually I’ve never been out of the country at all. And now I don’t even leave Harper Rock, really.” Her blonde head tipped back to look up at him. “Why would you want to kill werewolves? Do you kill other supernatural creatures...or have you ever at least?”

He noticed her nervousness as he brought up werewolves? Could it be possible that she was one? Or some other were-person? When he had just arrived in Harper Rock and was new to all the supernatural things here, he had seen a woman change into an animal. And believed she was a werewolf. He later found out that shapechanging was an ability many vampires had mastered. There were no confirmed werewolf (or weretiger, wereraven, werebear, werepenguin) sightings in Harper Rock, not even in paladin circles. But part of him still wondered if there were any. And he wanted to be the first to find them.

“What would you do, if you you walked around a dark corner like this one” he answered after a moment of silence, “and suddenly a werewolf attacked you, or a vampire, a zombie etc.? These things happen around here, frequently. Gotta be prepared always.” He realized that he sounded like he was trying to scare her. “Don’t worry though, I’d protect you.” Stagger Lee added with a smile that hopefully was convincing.

They had reached the station now, the area getting a bit more crowded now, with people from all walks of life on their way to or from their evening entertainment - pubs, clubs, bars, the movies. Some of those people already quite drunk others looking like they were halfway there. Stagger Lee wrapped his arm around the young woman by his side protectively pulling her a little closer. She was cute, he didn’t want anyone to do her any harm.

What would she do? If something attacked her, it would be dead in its tracks. She would pull her gun or blade, depending on the creature, and end it. She had gained the training and strength and what not to kill most of those types of creatures. She didn’t fear them. But that’s not the answer she could give, was it? A normal human girl wouldn’t be boasting supernatural killing skills. And with his talk about killing the supernatural, she wasn’t quite ready for him to know what she was. Instead, she feigned a scared shudder and leaned in closer to him as his arm wrapped around her. Her head tipped up a bit so she could push a kiss to his cheek. She liked the idea of him protecting her...even if she was probably more capable of protecting him. Unless he was one of those paladin or other type humans. She still hadn’t gained all the abilities she needed to protect herself from them.

“I’m glad you’re here to protect me. I’m not sure what I’d do if a scary monster creature popped around the corner!” She said that in mock horror.

Kaelyn tried to speak a little more quietly now that they were in a public space. While for some odd reason she trusted him, she didn’t trust anyone else who could over hear conversations. And it was important she not talk about the supernatural in front of humans. It had been driven into her mind to keep the Masquerade. But apparently not with this man… “Stagger, what all kinds of supernatural creatures are real? How do you know they’re real? And you kill them...what ones have you killed?” He had mentioned vampires...so she knew he at least knew of her kind and zombies. She was trying to gauge how much he actually knew.

The kiss caught him by surprise. For a moment he just smiled a bright, dazzled smile at her. This young woman acted like she knew him for at least a bit of time. This all could be a trick, a trap in which she either was the hunter, or the bait.

As much as he enjoyed the walk together with her, he knew he still had to be careful. He noticed a slight irony in her tone as she spoke about him protecting him, at least it seemed so to him. She most likely wasn’t what she seemed to be. But no one was in Harper Rocker.

They arrived at the platform right on time for the subway train and he heard her speak in lower volume now, but still inquiring about supernaturals. “I had to deal with quite a variety of them”, He replied, then placed a little kiss on her lips, only baring touching them. “This is not the right place to discuss these matters. Soon we can talk about that more freely”, he spoke, then spotted a vacant seat in the crowded train. “Lets share the seat!” he announced, holding her close to him as he made his way through the crowd. Sitting down he patted his lap with one hand, while giving her arm a light tug with his other. “Make yourself comfortable.”

The slight kiss to her lips had her insides melting. She almost quite literally swooned. Cheeks brightened multiple shades as she followed him to the seat. He was right. This wasn’t the place for this sort of chat. They would need to be somewhere a bit more private. Maybe the place he was taking her at the moment would offer that. She nearly floated on the way to their seat as he pulled her along side him. She was in quite a daze of happiness from the peck he gave her. That was only the second man who had ever done that. And the other, it hadn’t really been wanted from.

Kaelyn’s cheeks grew even darker in shade as he offered his lap for her to take. There weren’t any other seats available, and at this moment, she probably would prefer his lap anyway. She plopped down onto his lap, one arm swinging around his neck to hold herself in place and against him. “Why thank you for the seat!” She giggled a little and then with a more serious look, she nodded a moment. “You’re right though...we shouldn’t be having this discussion in public like this. Will we be able to talk at the place you’re taking me to?”

“Yes, definitely”, he replied eagerly. If there was any place that was best suited it was Fang Spotters, a place specialized in tours themed in the supernatural. It would be interesting to see how she’d react to it. Depending on what she really was it could be everything from enthusiasm to open hostility.

Although right now it was quite impossible to imagine her being hostile. “You are very welcome,” he replied, his hand gently brushing a strand of her out of her face, his brown eyes studying her facial features. “You are beautiful,” he softly said, now looking into her eyes. The bright blush his kiss had brought to her face just a few moments ago had brought her beauty out even more. And it made him wonder about his suspicions. Could someone who blushed that brightly and innocently really have a secret hostile agenda? He wrapped his other arm around her to pull her a bit closer in his lap. Right now he felt very comfortable.

“Good!” She was excited they’d get a chance to talk in private. She wanted to dig in a little more, learn a little more about this man. He knew about the supernatural...seemed to know more than he should, honestly. But maybe that would help her out in the end when he found out about who she was...or it could make it a ton worse.

A small giddy smile pulled at her lips as his hand brushed her hair from her face and she heard his words. Fingers danced over the nape of his neck as they sat there on the tram. They would be at their stop shortly and this ride on his lap would be over in an instant. She almost wished the ride was longer, but she was excited to get to where they were going. She wanted to talk much more. Instead of focusing on what they were going to talk about when they got there, she commented on the compliment she received. “You really think so?”

“Yes” he replied, “very much so. Such charming blue eyes, such kissable lips.” His fingers gently traced her lips as he talked. He leaned in to steal another kiss, just before the train stopped again, and “Wickbridge” was announced.

“Let’s go!” he announced enthusiastically, sounding more excited than he usually did. The last time he was that excited most like was when he opened Fang Spotters. But that was some month ago now, and he didn’t do much there lately, except for adding further trophies to the exhibits. But everything was still well maintained, the Countess looking after it while he was busy with his day job or hunting.

Soon he’d be showing this young woman that place that meant so much to him. How would she react? Did she have the same interests as him? Apart from a shared interest in the supernatural, which was at least a good start.

The 8th Dimension Mall wasn’t far from the station, just a few blocks and they’d reach the huge mall and its shops. Stagger Lee had his arm wrapped around Kaelyn’s shoulder again as he lead her there.

Her cheeks once again flushed as his finger brushed against her lips and then was replaced by his own lips. Glossed lips pressed to his gently, returning the kiss. She looked a little disappointed when Wickbridge was announced over the intercom.

With a light sigh she followed him off the train, leaning against him. One arm looped around his waist as his arm wrapped around her shoulders. The girl was curious to where he was leading her within the mall. What would she think when she saw that he had everything she worked so hard to keep secret on display for the world to see?

The mall was within view and she smiled a little. "We're almost there!" She had noticed his enthusiasm and it had her even more excited to get there.

It was a rather quiet evening at the mall. There were some shoppers around but it wasn’t crowded at all. Not even in the entrance area. Stagger Lee’s shop was on the second floor, thus he lead her to the escalator.

“Yes, almost there” he said to her, pulling her a bit closer to him as they stood on the escalator. “I’d like to ask you for a little favor” he spoke softly, “because I want to surprise you. Are you ready for that?”

He had realized that leading her straight towards the store might cause her to react in an undesired manner, especially if she was a vampire. Thus he had to use a little trick to get her into the shop.
