Watching the woman... fly... down from the roof was surreal. It really made no sense at all. He had figured from the conversation of the fuckers trying to kill them that she had been a vampire and they were hunters but to see such absolute proof, well, that was beyond the norm. Ok, proof positive vampires exist. Now that crazy ***** yacking away on the internet talking about paladins and vampires and ****... now she sounded... nah, she still sounded ******* crazy but now Luc figures he's going to sound crazy too. Out of the frying pan and into the fire?

He casually picks up the magazine he had earlier ejected, stuffs it into a pocket while he puts his gun away and walks over to the sewer lid, prying it up with his knife and pulling it off to the side. This part at least makes sense to him. Dispose of the bodies. Yeah, let's focus on something that isn't a blood drinking Britney Spears corpse thing that can fly. He grabs the paladin by the feet and drags the body over to the manhole, dumping it in without a word while casting sidelong glances all the while at the woman. His rational mind is trying to fathom what he just saw, some normal way that could happen and it's failing. The thudding squelchy sound as the body hits the sludge below seems to wake him from his thoughts and he motions to the other two bodies. "Drop those in here and let's get the **** out of dodge before cops show up there Britney."

He finally reaches up to his bluetooth and turns off Taylor Swifts voice in his ear.

"And keep your fangs to yourself... do you have fangs?"

If it was possible for the sociopath to actually be terrified he might be. Instead he finds himself curious, he wants to know more about everything. This chick doesn't seem to mean him harm or he figures he would be dead already.

Kira watched as the man said nothing but dragged one of the bodies to the sewer. She wondered how bad setting them on fire would be, would the sewers blow up? What he did say got her focus off blowing up the sewers. She huffed and stomped her foot, not that it was intimidating, her heel made no sound on the pavement. "Do not call me Britney." she growled, "My name is Kira." she added.

She looked back at the two hunters, walking over and grabbing each by the wrist with either hand. She had no point in hiding her strength or anything else now, the cat was out of the bag. She dragged the bodies over to the hole and tossed them in. Sure the gun shots might bring the cops over this way, but the sound of gun fire was so common in this town it might be delayed but better to get out of the area anyway.

She rolled her eyes, "I didn't need blood before, but I do now." she said, "But don't worry, I'll get it elsewhere." she added with a grin, showing her fangs. "Of course I have fangs. Do you think we cut people open and drink blood from a glass? There's no need to kill people for blood. Humans walk around with a fuzzy head and no memory of the event, so there's no need." she said, of course there were still people who went and killed people they fed on. If she realized that they remembered her feeding on them, she wouldn't dare feed on a human again. She did stick with mostly blood packs nowadays since it has been far too dangerous to feed, unless it was a thrall.

She shoves the manhole cover back in place with her foot. "I take it you knew about vampires before all of this?" she asked, she sure hoped so. She just said her name and if he went spreading that about, she would have both vampires and hunters out to get her. Damn Spears, her temper got the better of her when she should have withheld her name until she knew for sure this guy already knew about this city.

Kira zipped her jacket up to hide the blood from her stomach. She had a feeling her hair was getting covered with blood from her shoulder wound, she would pull it up but there's no way she was going to be able to do that comfortably with the wound. She suppose it might look like hair dye. She thought about healing that wound but she wasn't sure what happens to a bullet, if it stayed in there or if the healing power would push the foreign object out. Would be something to test out but if it stayed inside then one would have to cut into the body to get it out. Didn't sound like fun.

She moved out of the alley towards the main street, surely he would feel a lot better about being around a vampire on a main road.

Fuzzy head... yeah he's well aware of that little fact. "Then I've been bitten a **** ton. That fuzzy head feeling you were talking about. It's happened quite a few times." He feels violated knowing that he's been fed on my dead things. Nothing right about that. "I didn't really know you know? I heard the rumors about Harper Rock's 'night life' and seen some other pretty crazy **** like zombies and a couple other things. I'm guessing you guys use traps and **** around your lairs or whatever you call them?"

Yeah, he bets they do and suddenly a big *** puzzle piece is falling into place. "There's a tree house up on the north end of town. I stepped into a ****-storm of traps there. Is that some vampire nest?"

That little trip had him in intensive care and the scars aren't healed from it yet. He doesn't say that, leaves that part alone. "You look like Britney Spears," he says bluntly. "Show me back to the Handle Bar. I left my bike out front. I'll give you a ride to wherever you are going unless you're planning to grow wings and fly again."

Kira nodded, "Yes, if you have been waking up in strange places with memory loss and feeling fuzzy in the head, that would be a vampire's doing.." she said. "Oh.." she added when he said he didn't really know. "Humans tend to find the zombies first it seems."

She raised an eyebrow when he brought up traps. "We have homes just like humans.." she replied but when he brought up the tree house, the nest, she blinked. "By the goddess I'm surprised you're alive if you found that. Those are the worse kind of vampires. They kill without a second thought, human, vampire alike. If you trespassed, would have thought you'd be tracked down and killed.." she said. She wondered why this man was still alive. She thought back to her own protective mansion. "Yes, we trap certain places to protect ourselves from each other, expressly those at that nest. My hiding spot is way out there and hopefully no human would be misfortunate to come across it."

Then he just had to say she looked like Spears. She growled, her eyes turning to that of a cats. "Who says she doesn't look like me. Stop saying it. I told you my name, Mister DeathWish." she grumbled. She moved closer, "I don't need a ride and I can't fly, just kinda glide. I have plenty of ways to travel." she said, grabbing his arm and teleported to the Handle Bar. She wasn't in the mood to walk and have this man call her Spears yet again.

She looked around, making sure there wasn't anyone there that saw them appear before looking towards the bikes. Made her feel like she should go for a ride on her own.

She pulled her phone out of her pocket, scrolling through the contacts to her thrall's name and clicked on it. It rang and rang, going straight to voicemail. She sighed, "Dave, where are you? I need some bullets pulled out before Reggie finds out. Don't make me track you down or summon you." she said before hanging up. She could summon him but she always feared he might be in the middle of something. Just like she was paranoid of being summoned while taking a shower, a warning was always nice.

She put her phone away and turned to the sewer man. "My advice, stick to crowds. Being seen feeding is a crime and if people are grouped together it makes it impossible. And don't walk into random buildings. The next one you walk into might be your last." she said.

Suddenly being in front of the Handle Bar not thirty feet from his bike Luc feels a wave of vertigo at the instant change of surroundings. He blinks away the stunned look of disbelief on his face. Britney Spears is a vampire and she beamed him up to the Handle Bar in Harper Rock after he aided her in a triple homicide after meeting her in the sewers in a shithole city in Ontario Canada.

Oh, and he pissed off the worst kind of vampire. Apparently that means they aren't the amber-eyed sparkly type that mischievously feeds on deer and mountain lions off in the forest while good-naturedly mocking Native American werewolves or whatever-the-****-they-were. "This is all a little much," he says in perhaps the biggest understatement of his life. His hands are shaking. Adrenaline, not fear. Luc has never really been terrified, he is generally very stoic and even-keeled. Really though... what the ****?

He looks at the Britney look alike as she plays with her phone for a moment checks out the bloody wound on her shoulder. "I'm not a doctor, but I reckon you heal out like the vampires in the movies or something right? I can dig the round out if you want." He doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and a little blood has never bothered him. True be told he enjoys it.

"As far as the part about poking my nose into other... creatures business... I'll take my chances... Kira." he leaves just enough pause for the unspoken and apparently dreaded name. Bravado. Luc has been accused by his superiors of having more balls than sense back when he was in the service. They told him he should have been a Marine, maybe Army infantry. He had always laughed them off. He enjoyed putting bullets into others, not playing catch with them himself. His black ops training allowed him the chance to slip in, kill and slip out. That was what he did best.

He hadn't expected the traps he had run into to be there. Had he known of them he would have tried to approach in a different way.

"So you say those ones I almost met are the worst kind, I'm seeing 30 Days of Night in my head. What are you? Twilight?"

"Sorry, it always is a bit much when it comes to explaining this world." Kira replied, it could be worse. It didn't seem like he was freaking out so that was always a good thing.

Kira tilted her head when he offered to get the bullet out. "Yes, I heal fast." she replied. "Though I don't much about vampire movies, I never really watched anything." she added. She had no need to explain she had no memory of anything prior to Halloween 2010. She moved away from the bar, it wouldn't be good to be seen digging bullets out. Even though the place was ran by vampires, she was sure there were plenty of humans who come here. She slipped a throwing dagger out of her sleeve.

"Well, thank you for finally using my name, Mr. DeathWish" Kira said, "Take your chances, that's your choice of course." She used her nails, or rather claws to dig the bullet out of her stomach. She dropped the bullet and wiped the blood off on her shirt. She took off her jacket.

She held the dagger out to him, "This should be able to dig it out." she said. She was confused by the 30 days of night and Twilight. "Those are movies right?" she asked. She was sure she heard the name Twilight before, sparkly vampires? It was brought up on the Crownet. She closed her eyes, looking up the names on the internet. "Hmm, I'm not sure the vampires here truly fit into a movie but since I don't know movies, I guess I can't be sure." she said, opening her eyes. "But I most certainly do not fit into Twilight. I'm very dark most of the time. There's only a hand full of vampires who could be considered light. I can play both roles though, I guess but being good gets boring. I've always had a need to fight, even before I was turned.."

She thought back to her first murder, the blood, the screams. The enjoyment. She blinked, pulling herself back from that memory and back to what was going on.

"Sorry, rambling." Kira said, "Have any questions? The more you learn, the longer you'll be able to stay alive." she added, using her other hand and letting the light show up so he could see what he was doing. "Yes, this is the light I was using in the sewers. A built in flashlight. Not all vampires have the same gifts I do. We're all different.."

"Yeah my bad on the name thing. The resemblance is kind of uncanny." He gives a shrug and a little apologetic smile. "As far as questions, let me get that bullet out first. You probably want me concentrating while I do that.."

He reaches out and plucks the throwing knife from her hand and shakes his head. "Yeah, this would make a ******* mess of things." He walks over to his bike and gets a pair of needle-nose pliers out of one of the saddlebags. Better he thinks. He jogs over to where she is waiting and looks at her hand for a long moment. He shakes his head slowly, mumbles a "**** it," under his breath and then tells her to kneel down facing away from him.

"It'll make it easier for me to see what I'm doing and I get be more steady that way." He's done field surgery out of necessity in the past, though only on himself and nothing lodged in bone. How hard can it be? he thinks to himself. I wouldn't trust half the field medics to put on a band-aid and they seem to manage just fine.

If she kneels he'll go straight to work using the knife to pry the wound open to see and reaching in with the pliers as delicately as if he were playing that old board game Operation. Don't touch the sides he would think to himself.

"I know I know. I just really get tired of being compared to her. I got green eyes, she does not." Kira replied, "Yes, concentrating would be good." she added. She watches him as he goes to his bike to get something. Yes, that would be helpful. "Well, I don't carry tweezers with me." she said.

She wasn't too keen on the idea of kneeling but it was better than listening to Reggie talk about her getting into trouble yet again. She pulled her hair off to the side, out of the way and knelt down facing away from him. "Don't worry about hurting me, I've been through much worse." she said. In the mean time she healed her stomach wound up and as soon as the bullet was out of her shoulder, she'd do the same to that wound.

Digging the round out wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. Using the dagger to maneuver it so he could grasp it cleanly was tricky, but he managed. Once he withdraws the pliers from the wound he drops the round onto the ground and says simply, "You're good. Dr. DeathWish saves the day."

He steps away from her and holds the knife out to her handle-first. "So I guess this is where I get to ask a billion questions huh? Let's start with how many of you guys are there in the city?"

He figures there has to be a bunch of them since he keeps waking up dazed, one time twice in one day. "And then we can move onto how come it seems to be restricted to Harper Rock? I haven't heard of this type of weird stuff anywhere else I've been and I've been around."

Kira waited for the round to be removed from her body, she heard the metal sound of it hitting the pavement. She stood up, "Pfft, Dr. DeathWish." she said, taking the dagger back, wiping the blood off and slipped it back into her sleeve. "Thank you." she added, she suppose the nickname will have to stick since he doesn't seem like he's going to say what his name is.

"I hope not a billion questions. I need to get home before sunrise." Kira laughed, not to say a shower and burn these clothes. She thought about the first question. "Hmm, that's hard to say. You have one vampire, and they sire a few people and they sire a few people and so on like rabbits." she said, "There's a lot though for sure."

The next question, the answer could get her killed but if he ever talked to the right paladin, it be something they would know. "Well, its because this area is the only area that if we are killed, we can return to. If I go for a trip to New York and die, I can never return. When vampires are killed, we go to this hellish nightmare of a place. We're stuck there for awhile then we can return. The veil between those worlds are thin here, so we can return." she said, pulling her jacket back on now that her wound was healed. "But the thin veil also allows some nasty creature to come through. The veil also the reason for the zombies." she explained.
