--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Revelation Jon walked into Lancaster’s and made his way over to his favorite table. He takes a seat and chills out waiting for Cori to show up. He’s got on a nice black sweater he picked up that night and a pair of nice jeans. Not cargo pants like he likes or carpenter style, but a well fitted pair of Levi’s. They look distressed. He guesses that’s what passes for style nowadays though he always fucked his own jeans up at work anyway. No one thought those were stylish after he wore them to work. He doesn’t really see a difference.
He orders a ‘special drink’, blood of course while he waits. He hates drinking from a glass but it’s better than a bag of course. Besides, can’t sit and sip from a blood bag out in the middle of a bar. That don’t look right. People would be more than a little suspicious. He glances at the clock periodically while he waits. He’s never been a super patient person.
When Cori finally walks in his jaw damn near drops. Hot little blonde wearing a little dress with those sexy strappy heels? **** yeah she’s hot as hell. He’s not the only one who thinks so obviously. Several pairs of eyes turn in her direction. Jon wishes that things had been different between them. Wishes he’d had a chance with her. He doesn’t know where she’s been since she left out of their old apartment building after they were both evicted. Since then, up until today he’s been staying in the sewers and the mausoleum. He’s killed a lot of those old zombie things and made some decent cash selling things he’s stripped off of gangsters and other horrors that are more like him than what the gangbangers are. Still, he feels closer to the bangers, he used to hang out with some people like them before he started college. He was used to the hood-rats, women you didn’t take home to your mother, you just took ‘em behind the school or out to your car.
Cori looks more like one of those women that were always out of reach for Jon. She was every ***** that didn’t give him a job, looked down at him in the courtroom, every professor that flunked him and every woman he couldn’t have.
He can still remember the taste of her blood on his tongue that night… he wants her so badly he can taste her. He stands up seeing her and waves her over, keeping those thoughts to himself.
Trahir Trahison Trahir had been waiting for about a half an hour before the doors opened up and in came Jonathan ‘Revelation’ Masterson. Trahir recognized him easily enough since he had stalked the man in his early nights, making sure he hadn’t done anything to violate the Masquerade, and in truth to get a feel for what type of person Corentine was before deciding to meet with her.
In front of him is an ice water. It is untouched. He feels no real need to feign drinking it since he is apparently absorbed in his newspaper. He lowers the paper long enough to see where Revelation sits before returning his gaze to the fascinating world of Dear Abby. That woman has to be a vampire. She’s been doing this column in nationwide papers for about a thousand years. Same old tired questions, same old tired answers. Still somehow she remains popular. Trahir doesn’t understand it. Periodically he glances up at the door to await Corentine’s arrival.
Eventually waiting pays off. She is a vision as she enters. Elegant, tasteful and dressed to kill. The way the lights glint off her golden hair is dazzling. He gives no outward sign he has noticed her lest the cretin look over and notice him. He stands though as he sees Jon rise and makes his way to a table further away but in sight of Corentine, situating himself behind Revelation so as not to be seen.
CorentineCori arrives at Lancaster’s, right on time. She messaged Revelation to ensure he was still willing to meet, he obliged. She opened the door and took several steps into the bar, stopping to scan the room. She immediately spotted Trahir and gave him a quick smile. Not one that would be noticed...well, maybe only by him alone. She then spotted Revelation over at the corner table, it was one of the darker sides of the bar… and she would have not chosen that spot for a discussion, herself. She walks over to where he is seated, still analyzing all who are in the room… she is counting the steps from the entrance of the bar to the table where he sits, as well. She approaches him with caution, but it is not apparent. She is hardly fearful of what he is capable of, more what Trahir is capable of, if he senses anything is wrong. “ Hello, Revelation, thank you for meeting with me on such short notice. Can I sit?”
Revelation “Of course,” he says offering her a chair. It actually takes him a second to realize he should pull it out for her. He mumbles an apology as he does and waits for her to be seated before returning to his own seat. “So wassup? Where you been crashing out at?” He has a million questions, that seems a good place to start off.

Trahir Trahison The idiot has all the etiquette of a dead moose. He almost allows the lady to draw her own chair from under the table. At least he corrected his erroneous behavior before she actually did. Trahir figures the imbecile is stupefied, and rightly so, by the vampiric beauty before him. Trahir wants to push the man’s face down into the carpet, make him bow down to her, he doesn’t care at that moment that Revelations blood is more potent of that within their lineage he is a generation older than Cori. Corentine is his and this peon doesn’t deserve to be in her presence.
Corentine “ Thank you.” Cori sits in the chair that he pulled out for her, wishing it was the one directly across from him and not the one adjacent to him. He looked nice, as nice as could be expected. He seemed more put together than she remembered, life as a vampire must be treating him well. “I have been well, Revelation.” Cori had no intention on explaining any more than she had to explain… not yet at least. “ How about you, how have you been?” Cori signals the the bartender on duty..who knows she wants an ice water with a lemon. It is what she keeps on hand her entire work shift, to maintain the illusion. She feels it best to maintain said illusion, even while this is her day off.
Revelation Rev frowns. She’s so cold. He’s trying to warm her up to him with his best smile but it really doesn’t seem to be helping much of anything. She really is just like all those upper class high brow women never gave him the time of day… damn. “Yeah I’ve been here and there. Bought a place today. Figured I’d offer you a room if you wanted a place to stay. It’s just down the road a few blocks. Veil Tower? You know where it’s at?”
Trahir Trahison Making out the last two words the man speaks Trahir’s dark mood turns rapidly into something much worse. Within the vampire’s already icy heart a frigid and icy wind picks up and if looks could kill Revelation would have exploded in his seat.
Corentine Cori did not let anything show on her face, she was expressionless. Maybe she was absorbing some of Trahir’s less attractive qualities, who knows. “ I am glad to hear you have a new place, Revelation. I have heard that is a very nice place to live.” Cori completely ignored the offer of a room.. she was not even opening that can of worms.
Revelation “Yeah, so, you look like you are doing good. Glad to see that. So what’s up? What did you wanna talk about?” He picks up his glass and sips the cold blood ~yuck~ and makes a slight face at it. He’s never gotten into the cold blood thing. Damn he wishes he could pin one of the chicks in here against a wall and take what he wants right from the vein. Nice and warm like it’s meant to be. From an instant a feral look comes into his eyes, one that Corentine has seen before and with a great effort he composes himself, forcing the thought from his head.
Trahir Trahison Trahir gives the slightest of approving nods at how she is handling herself. She is appropriately aloof and distant, giving him no signals that could be construed as being willing to rekindle any type of relationship. Perhaps Trahir had worried for nothing. Still he wants to tear Revelations throat out and use it to beat the man to death with, but his feelings on this particular encounter are nowhere near as strong and driving a factor as they were in that.
CorentineCori did not really have a good answer for that. She felt it best to not explain the whole sire and childe thing to him. It may give him some ideas, that do not seem to be in his mind, yet. “I merely wanted to meet and see how you were doing. I knew that my apartment was no longer available for you to crash in, when the sun rose. I was a bit concerned.” As she spoke she had a flashback to that night… the same look he had as he stood across from her in her kitchen, just came about his face..once again. The bartender brought over her water and she nodded at him, with a smile. Her index finger circled the rim of the glass, as it was something else that she knew he did… Trahir. She felt something coming from him and she did not like it, at all. She wanted him to know that she was his and that this would be over soon enough, and this was a message to him. Hoping he was not in one of those aloof moods and that he may pick up on it. In that moment Cori got one of those feelings, the sort that made all her senses go on high alert. She had two vampires, both with eyes on her..that may be able to take her out at any moment. She did not like the feeling, not at all.

Revelation “Yeah I got me a place earlier today up on the 14th floor. It’s got a nice view.” He frowns slightly thinking about something. “So you never told me where you been staying at. I’m guessing you don’t need a crash pad from the looks of it though.”
Trahir Trahison He notices the gesture and his face softens almost imperceptibly still, Cori would notice it if anyone would. He flips the page on his newspaper and draws out his pocketwatch, noting the time before turning his gaze back to the paper in his hands.
He does have a server refresh his ice water when they come by. He assumes from the heady scent of blood in the air that a lot of vampires hang out at Lancaster’s much like the mortal woman Dhara had told him when he met with her in Corvidae Flats. He had been negligent on that front, rarely going to the apartment he had bought to keep an eye on the potential Masquerade breach but since he had also heard of nothing coming from her that did cause the Masquerade any risk he was content to forget her existence for the moment rather than end it.
Corentine ”I have been spending many nights in the sewers, hunting. I find it cathartic, in a way. Other nights, I spend time with a mentor that I have met through my travels around the city. They have been most gracious.”Cori does not know how to respond to his offer of a spot to stay, yet again. “ Thank you for the generous offer, I will take it into consideration.”
Revelation “A mentor? What do you mean? Like a mentor like a professor or like a mentor like us?” He looks worried for a moment, “You know there are some bad peeps out there. I heard of this group that kills off others whenever they can. They use the Crownet list to do it you know? The like, hack computers and cameras and stuff and then they put the people they don’t like up on this list and then they hunt them down and kill them.”
Trahir Trahison Trahir’s eyebrow goes up suddenly. Undoubtedly it is not from what he is reading in the business section of the newspaper. There is a slightly amused look in his eyes though, his mood has certainly lightened. Ah if the younger vampire only knew how much Trahir desperately wanted to see his name on the list he speaks of...
Corentine” A mentor is one who shares knowledge. It could be about this new life or anything else I am not up to speed on.” Now, how to respond to his line of questioning...she needs to be cautious. “ I have never heard of anything like that happening, I do spend much time underground.” Cori glances around the room, making sure she catches Trahir’s eye. She wonders the time, and if it is getting a bit late. She would really like to be back home and on the couch with him, talking or simply doing nothing. The thoughts bring a smile to her face. “Well, Revelation, I am glad you are doing well… it was good for me to see.”
Revelation Jon looks a little confused. Maybe he was expecting something… more. Maybe he’s concerned. Either way he doesn’t say anything about it. He looks at the clock and nods. “Yeah I should get going too. I have to get furniture tomorrow.” He laughs. Wonder if there’s a 24 hour furniture depot of something around where you can get stuff after dark.”
Trahir Trahison Trahir closes the paper, drops it on the table along with a $20 and stands, making his way toward the door being careful not to get in Revelations direct line of sight. He steps out of Lancaster’s and walks across the street, pulls out his phone and sends a text to Cori. “Just across the way. Waiting for you.”
CorentineCori smiles and extends her hand to him, before she stands. “It was nice to see you again Revelation, thank you for meeting me.”
Revelation Revelation takes her hand and shakes it with a warm smile. “If you ever need anything Cori, I’m in 1401. Drop by any time.” With that he motions over to the bartender with a gesture meaning ‘check please’.
CorentineCori stands and nods to Revelation and offers him a smile. With that she begins her exit of the bar, making sure she send a little smile to her babysitter. With that she exits and returns to Veil tower, before Revelation is even out of that corner spot.
Revelation After paying his tab Revelation heads on out, walking the few blocks back to Veil Tower. He's got a lot on his mind and the first thing on it is finding out who Cori's mysterious 'mentor' is. Not that he knows where to begin. Maybe he'll ask Pi if she knows how he could find out.
