Questions wrt Crownet Under New Management
So... Crownet is anonymous, but some characters are distinctive in their posting.
For example, some characters have always used a specific font color for their posts; would it be safe to assume your character can tell who someone is (or someone is attempting to pretend to be) if they use a specific font color? I'm asking because Zodiac just posted in Zodiac-purple; I don't need to look at user info to know that's her. Same with Karina/Scorpia and their shades of red. Constance with pink. Roderic with his font. Freyja with blue. Some characters also have very distinctive sentence structure.
To what extent are we, as the players, going to be accused of crossing for being able to identify these distinctive character traits? Is dishing out warnings for crossing over this going to be a thing?

Re: Questions wrt Crownet Under New Management
I think you'd have an idea who it is, but you couldn't be completely sure. It could be somebody spoofing them, for example. However, as handles are applied to posts retroactively, you could simply look at older posts to determine who most of the existing crowd is. The older posts wouldn't show their true names, either, but Phoenix might remember who posted what. The anonymity will play a bigger part with newer characters who have never posted, or with those choosing the "anonymous" handle.

I created a handle, & posted with a quote but removed the original poster's id. Should I have/could I have input the handle the player might have used in it's place?
I'm feeling quite trepadacious about this, I think we'll be seeing some confusion and conflict about this 'new' anonymity.

That's an excellent question. If we're supposed to be sporting these new handles, when we quote something it should have shown up as the handle, but I don't know how hard that would be to do.Alexandrea wrote:I created a handle, & posted with a quote but removed the original poster's id. Does all of this also apply to the private family/faction crownets?

Up to you. You can put the person's handle instead, that's fine but this is something people will have to remember to do themselves when quoting.Alexandrea wrote:I created a handle, & posted with a quote but removed the original poster's id. Re: Questions wrt Crownet Under New Management
In the Canon thread, David had stated if a vampire gave their password to a human that human would be able to read and post on Crownet using the vampire's account.Firstly, humans can no longer see Crownet, even if they have a maximum hacking skill. It simply does not let humans view it, because Crownet is an enchanted network which has been once again secured.
Is this still true or does the new update bar humans from even doing that?

It stops humans from even doing that, as it did when Crow was in charge.Monique wrote:In the Canon thread, David had stated if a vampire gave their password to a human that human would be able to read and post on Crownet using the vampire's account.Firstly, humans can no longer see Crownet, even if they have a maximum hacking skill.
