Black Thursday Group 17

Post by Spade (DELETED 5913) »

It was a Thursday night and Spade had just exited the Ivy Bluffs Apartment Building. He'd just exited his dinners apartment with a grin. A perfect blunt was being examined between the tips of his thumb and index finger. The wind was hitting the sides of the building harshly, causing him to look up and glance out the window. Tree branches were falling down. "Ice must be getting heavy." he muttered. Growing up around lake effect snow, he saw what he thought were winds like this all the time in the winter. He had no idea he was about to be walking into a war zone between mother nature and mankind. Pushing the ground button on the elevator, he sent a text to two people. Both messages were the same. 'I'd like to talk to you, are you free?' One after the other, to Every and Velveteen. Ding! The elevator door opens and he's standing in the lobby of the building. The blunt goes between his teeth, and as the door of the building opened the wind nearly took it out of his hand. "Damn.." he muttered before exiting the building.

He held a lighter in his right hand. Which, once he turned the corner, that lighter went up on the inside of his hoodie, and he used his clothing as a block so a flame could be sparked. His blunt was lit, and smoke went all around his face. As he stood up straight and attempted to walk straight, the wind had knocked him into the side of the building. Already his blunt was boating, burning in an uneven fashion. Oh, he was irritated. The rain was picking up. The night was getting louder, with the cries of the wind. Tree branches cracking and hanging over power lines. His eyes were widening a little bit, as he underestimated what exactly was going on by a large shot. He figured that out once the ground beneath him began shaking, and he dropped his blunt. The small amount of people on the streets began scattering and the people who stayed in the abandoned buildings and homes all around the Westwall Area. Police were telling people to get off of the streets as each rumble brought down more tree branches, and people were scattering.

As the trembles got worse, the pace Spade was moving in picked up. Until the ground shook so hard that he couldn't keep himself up, and his flesh went skidding across the street. He felt nothing, though. He was just trying to focus on any land mark to help him get back to his feet. What helped him was the sudden crash his body had against the wall of the abandoned school. That hurt, so it took him a little bit to get back to his feet, but once he did he just kept moving. Each step was harder and harder for him to keep his balance and everything felt heavier since he was completely soaked. He hardly realized his feet were submerged in water. Flooding, earth quakes, winds. Is the world coming to an end today? Is there going to be fire next? That's what he was thinking about. Once he finally found a building that was surviving the war, he marched his way towards it. Hammer and Tongs Pub. He had to get out of this wind to get a plan that made sense inside of his head, and with this kind of weather, he wasn't making it home tonight. He needed shelter.

His hand clutched the knob of the door, and he forced his way inside. The door slammed behind him, and he just stood still. Not a clear thought in his head. He could hear buildings crumble to the ground causing the ground to shake more. People screaming, the wind forcing trees to their sides. It was overwhelming, more than anything for him. There was still a few hours left until sunrise and he knew this. So Spade took shelter in this pub with the intention to figure out a plan to help these humans. In order for him to survive, he needed them to survive this, too.
It is not violence that sets man apart.

Kira didn't watch TV let alone the news but her wraith told her that the gossip they were hearing were people talking about a storm that was coming, and it sounded bad. She stared at the screen even as it started to fade in and out. "Should board up the windows it seems." she muttered, the animals in the house were uneasy and didn't want to leave her side. She turned the TV off, making sure the animals had plenty of food and water but she felt bad about leaving them alone. She wasn't sure where Reggie was at, she sent him a message about the storm and she was boarding up the windows to the places she owned, the temple was going to be hard to do however.

She summoned Dave to her.

"****! Some warning would have been nice." Dave said, annoyed.

"You weren't busy were you?" Kira mused, her eyes said don't bother arguing with me right now. "Stay with the animals. I need to go protect my properties." she said, without letting him say a word she hurried upstairs to change clothes. Heels would be no good, even if she would just float above everything, it would look out of place. She wore sneakers, something she hardly ever wore. She zipped up the hoodie and headed outside.

Kira went to the shed and grabbed boards she had left over from other projects and made the place she called home as safe as she could. She stared at the barn. Was it best to put the horses in the barn or let them run? She heard of horses running into fences and getting hurt. She jumped the fence and called Ahern and Epona over, leading them to their stalls. "It's for your own good right now, okay." she said softly, petting them. The swans were wild animals, she wasn't sure what she could do to protect them other than she hoped they stayed in the house she built for them. One last thing to protect here was her motorcycle, she pushed it inside before leaving the farm.

She realized she owned too many buildings for her own good, it would be easier to just fix the damage to the house in Willow Court and Larch Court. Willow Court, no one lived there now and Larch Court was merely a recording studio for her. This left the Temple, her businesses in the mall would be dealt if they suffered damage within its walls.

A teleport later she stood in front of the temple. Should she leave it open as a shelter? That would be the right thing to do. The wind started to pick up, it started to downpour. The problem with floating, she got knocked around way too easily. She held onto the side of the building. "****.." she muttered. It could be worse. It could be a new moon which at that point she would be freezing to death right about now.

"Time to start praying to mother earth." Warrior's voice sounded in her head.

"Little late for that." Kira grumbled, there wasn't any way she would be able to do anything about the higher windows. "This is just the way of things. People die in natural disasters."

The tree next to her cracked under the weight of the rain, freezing to ice. Kira hurried away before it fell towards her, hitting the side of the temple. "Damn." she said, but the wind was pushing her back away from the temple, she was rather helpless against it. She turned her nails into claws to try and steer and slow herself down. Her claws slipped from the ice and she slammed into a building.

"Kira what the hell are you doing out here?" Marcus's voice said. Kira looked up to see her wraith. "Went to the farm and Dave was there.."

"I had things to do but now I'm regretting it. I have insurance for my properties right.." Kira said, distracted by cars, their tires trying to find traction on the road, people screaming. "Why were you looking for me anyway?"

"Your idiot worker is at the lounge instead of being at home. Though you'd want to know." Marcus replied.

Kira looked up at him again, "Which one?"

"The one guy, you put in charge a lot." Marcus said with a shrug. He didn't know her workers by name, he didn't care.

"That doesn't make any sense. He's the smart one.." Kira said, if he was still there then he would be stuck there. If he got hurt, that would be bad for the shows. She sighed. She got to her feet, using the building for support. It was hard to tell where she was with the wind and rain, it made it hard to see. "There's no way I'm going to make it to the mall or home on foot." she said. She should just teleport. Before she could, the ground started to shake, parts of the ground rose up, others fell. Cracking of the Earth and buildings.

Kira lost her grip on the building and went floating off. She started to curse in her head, what was going on now? An earthquake? Was there suppose to be earthquakes here?

She heard screaming as a taxi got pinned, power line fell across the metal, the doors were smashed by the pole. Kira frowned, there was a kid in there. She cursed again, this time directed toward the dumbass parent who would put their kid in danger. She used the cracks in the road to make her way towards the taxi. She tore the doors off to free the driver and the passengers. They were still screaming because of the power lines that danced around. Using a combination of her allurist powers, lure human and her voice, she got them out of the taxi. Once she stopped using her powers, they started screaming again and ran off to get out of the storm.

"You're welcome." Kira muttered, she bit her lower lip. She got burned saving them but it was easily healed. She had done her good deed for the month. She needed to get out of the storm as well. She felt like a cat who was just tossed in the tub. She tried to run off towards the nearest building, the wind pushed back and she just had to let it push her and hoped it pushed her into another building.

Kira dug her claws into the side of the building to slow herself down, grabbing a hold of the door handle. She was tired of being a Kira kite and she knew she had used too much power to teleport again. She turned the door handle, getting it open, using the building to step inside instead of being pushed down the road. The door slammed shut, she heaved a breath like any human would do after fighting their way to shelter.

She pushed the hood off her head, her blonde hair was plastered to her face. A raincoat would have been a good idea, not that she owned one. She took the hoodie off, strolling over to the sink behind the bar and ringed it out, water pouring out of the fabric.

Kira's green eyes looked over at the bar tender. "Greetings. Mind if I start a tab? I need a drink for sure." she said with a smile. "Bottle of wine please." she added. The man handed her a bottle.

"Time to warm up, eh?" he said.

"Indeed." Kira replied, more like she just wanted to pass out knowing the sun would be up and she wasn't safe at home. While she did have daywalker, she still feared it. Then again if the storm kept up, would the sun even go through this gloom? Either way, she didn't like it.

Kira sat down, pouring a glass of wine and drank it down as she used her cell phone to try and get a hold of Renzo. She heard a faint hello. "Renzo, what the hell are you doing at work? You should be home!" she growled.

"I feared looting if the storm got bad so I...*static static*"

Kira frowned, well damn. Looting wasn't something she had thought of but there wasn't much there to loot. She suppose she would have to give him a bonus. She shook her phone, looks like it needed to dry out as well. If she was going to contact any of her friends, she would have to use mind speak.

Post by Wolffyn »

Stalking her prey just as she would any other night, Wolffyn worked her way through the tunnels of Harper Rock's sewer system as the storm raged on above. It amused her greatly that so many of her own kind were still even bothering to try to walk around outside up on the surface. Her amusement had begun to fade however, as the hunters and paladins that were her targets became increasing harder to find.

A naked woman was around the next bend in the sewers and the redhead grinned as she quickly moved forward towards the distracted paladin up ahead. Just as the target came into range and mere seconds before Wolffyn was about to raise her gun, the woman looked up around in alarm and caught sight of the vampire heading her way as she did so.

Wolffyn had pulled up her gun at the same moment that the two locked eyes and was able to pull the trigger when she noticed the fear in the paladin's eyes. It was a fear that had nothing to do with Wolffyn. She just somehow knew that. The vampire hunter was terrified of something but it wasn't the vampire that was aiming a gun at her.

Curious, the redhead didn't fire her weapon but it wasn't lowered either. The staring contest lasted less than a minute but with a swiftness that Wolffyn hadn't been expecting, the tattooed human had managed to dart up the service ladder that led to the exit out of the sewers. The words; "No time for this!" hissed out of the paladin as she made her escape and Wolffyn darted after after her just as the walls and ground of the tunnels started to come to life.

"Whatthefucccckkkkk!!!" Wolffyn shouted as she ended up using tunnel to dig her way to the surface, the Westwall sewer entry collapsing around her a now very dead lady paladin. The twisted metal that was once a ladder cut a deep gash into the vampire's leg as it had been ripped apart like it was string cheese but at least the redhead hadn't eaten a man hole cover like her unlucky friend with the tats.

Razor claws helped the tiny woman to get free of the sinkhole that opened up in the road even as Wolffyn had tunneled her way topside, and as she pulled herself free from the widening collapse of the street into the tunnel below. She looked up at the the train station with people rushing in panic coming from the exits as the building shook and started to fold in upon it's self as if it was an according, the subway below it crushed by the weight of the building above it crashing down in just moments.

"Screw this side show!" Wolffyn shouted into the wind even as a telephone pole crashed down beside her, missing her redhead by only an inch. Grabbing her tome out of her pocket she parted her lips to begin to read the spell that would bring her home. Even if no one else was there, it was were Wolffyn felt she she be. Looking out for things and being there for when the family did come home, and she knew that they would.

The sound of her own voice was lost in the storm as the wind ripped them away one by one as Wolffyn uttered them, the last few fae symbols she knew by heart and had begun to re-roll the scroll when the wind stole more than the words from the vampire, it stole her tome as well.

"NOOO!" The redhead screamed and dived after it, chasing it as it started to vanish out of sight. There was NO way that Wolffyn was going to lose that tome. She finally pinned it down in the doorway of the pub that somehow still stood it's ground despite being so close to what used to be the Westside train station and decided to try again next inside someplace that was out of the wind.

She saw Kira as soon as she walked however, and before finding a spot to read her tome and go home figured she would check on the woman and fellow Misfits.

"Hey Kira. Nice weather we're having, isn't it?"

Post by Luffy »

The wind and snow blew around Luffy as he walked through the streets of Harper Rock. The blizzard made visibility nearly impossible, at least for normal people. While most people were panicking and getting indoors from the destructive snow, Luffy was headed to the river. Snow meant Otter Sledding. He passed by a dark alley, vaguely noticing the shapes of people hiding from the storm. He thought nothing of it until he heard a tiny sneeze ride the raging winter wind.

Luffy paused then backed up. He turned down the dark alley and approached two dirty and clearly freezing children huddled between a pair of rusty dumpsters. A young boy and a girl. He knelt down in front of them and held his hand out. “Hey there kids,” he said, “Let’s get you somewhere warm and some food.” His leather coat was tossed around the shoulders of the older boy; his heavy sweatshirt over the younger girl Luffy then gently picked the children up and took them to a tiny nearby diner. Luffy sat back and smiled as the kids ate the food that was placed in front of them.

Then the ground started trembling. The few people there began screaming and running around in a panic. Luffy yelled to the kids to get under the table as the building shook and pieces began to fall. The shaking subsided and the three crawled out from their shield. The diner wasn’t completely crumbled, but the doors were sealed off with debris. The other patrons had all left or had been crushed. The only ones left appeared to be Luffy, the Kids, and a lone waitress. Luffy Stood up and brushed himself off.

“Okay here’s what we’re going to do I’m going to throw a table through that window and we’ll get out of here.” The others nodded their agreement and stood back as the large man picked up a nearby table and hurled it through the plate glass window. The impact caused the entire building to shudder. The children and the waitress ran through the gaping maw into the world outside just as the building crashed down round Luffy’s head.

A lone otter with a small duffel bag bounded through the broken streets, far from water or any other kind of secure dwelling. Dark blood stained patches of its fur, a small piece of metal still sticking from a shoulder blade. A building loomed overhead. The Hammer and Tongs Pub. Luffy stood up to his full three and half foot height and pressed a paw to the door and pushed hard. It swung open with such force that it nearly came off the hinges when it hit the wall. He dropped back onto all four feet and entered the bar with a very unhappy look on his face.

Spade had been standing by the doorway, chain-smoking cigarettes as each person came scrambling into the pub. Though he wasn't a human, this was very stressful for him. A vampire can take damage from this storm and heal, but those humans out there that were trapped by this storm can very well die. Though, there will always be enough blood in this city to feed the lot of them. He knew hearing their screams and cries for help would be a test of his sanity, tonight. Kira came in and instantly greeted the bartender with a level of politeness he hadn't seen often. His eyes followed her until she was seated, then he just lit another cigarette. He could tell by the looks he was getting that maybe it wasn't such a great idea to be smoking like this in a building with humans. That whole cancer thing seemed to bug them, and rightfully so. Spade turned to open the door and stand outside, then he remembered what happened to his blunt. Oh, that angered him. He put the cigarette out and stood there, silently, for a moment.

Upon Wolfflyn's entrance, he had made his way to the nearest window. Even though it was the wisest thing to do staying away from it during weather like this, he had to see. This must have been hell for humans, buildings crumbled, small floods. It wasn't too long ago he was one of these humans, and had he never met Velveteen, he'd have likely gotten trapped in this storm as a human. "Poor souls..." he muttered to the glass, his blue eyed gaze bouncing around to see how everyone was being effected. Normally, Spade is a heartless man who would love to kill these people. But there was something about this storm that had him feeling like it was wrong to leave them trapped and stranded the way they were. Human soldiers would show up eventually to help, but not until the storm calmed. By then, people could die in shallow graves.

He thought for a long moment. He had to. What would be expected of him right now. Probably to stay inside and let nature take its course. Helping humans could make them more aware to our existence, especially if we're out there lifting things that are too heavy to be lifted. But if people are trapped in that, chances are it could be explained through shock. He thought about the children who would grow up without parents because of the harm done to them, be it an accident, or a building falling down, or a tree fell on their car. Natural disasters happen, Curtis, remember that... he thought to himself, even though the screams of the people trapped inside of a broken down building were playing with his nerves like he was a violin. Out of frustration, he looked in the other direction to see the hospital. That's when he blinked his eyes wide. A thought hit him in the head, like a bullet to the brain.

As he turned around to face his group of people, Luffy had marched in. In all of his otter-greatness. This caught Spade's attention more than anything, and he had no shame in staring at an otter tugging along a duffle bag. And I thought I saw everything... went speeding through Spade's mind just before snapping back to reality. The thud of a tree's branch crashing into the building didn't wake him up or anything. Stepping towards the center of the pub, Spade waved his hand awkwardly at Kira and Wolfflyn, assuming Luffy was a circus creature who ran free. Being a fresh vampire still, never seen Meaner Things at it's glory. "Hi. Ladies. Just uh, wondering how we're all doing..." he tried to break the ice. He really didn't give two shits how they were doing, but he knew if he went out there he was going to need some help. And that was what he intended to do. Help these humans trapped until an hour before sunrise. All he had to do was get some to the hospital around the way, and they can get back here just in time.

Kira was on her second glass of wine, then tried to get the water out of her hair. She still felt like a soaked cat, really wishing she could change clothes. She looked towards the door, spotting her favorite redhead. "Mactíre..." she said with a smile. At least she found someone she knew, well, Wolffyn found her anyway.

"Oh yes, lovely weather." Kira replied, "Wonder if I was safer in New York...weather wise." she added. She spotted the tome, it seemed the woman wasn't staying long. If only she had been able to complete that damn ritual, she could also just leave without using her own power.

She closed her eyes, the sounds outside. Why were there still people outside? How long was this storm going to last? The damage done to the city would take awhile to fix. She opened her eyes when the door opened up and an otter stepped through.

Kira blinked, she couldn't remember ever meeting Luffy in either form even though they were both Misfits but having an otter stroll through like that with a bad, there was no doubt this had to be him, not knowing any other otter vampires. She wasn't sure how durable a vampire was in their meaner things form so the blood was concerning.

She was distracted as a man started to talk to them, her green eyes were focused on him. Trying to figure out if this was a lame pick up in time like this or was he actually concerned. She suppose that it could have been the easiest way to try to talk to them, which meant he wanted something.

Kira looked to her fellow warrior woman, "I'm fine. Just a bit soaked." she said, course part of her outfit had burnt marks but her skin was just fine. All thanks to the power of healing. "Excuse me for a moment." she said, hopping off her chair and went over to the Luffy Otter, kneeling down, she spoke to his mind. "Luffy..?" she said. Either way, the 'animal' was hurt. She quickly took the metal out of its shoulder blade. "I hope that's clothes in that bag." she added, an otter wasn't going to be much use if something were to happen. Which how bad this storm was, who knows what would happen.

She straightened up and headed back to her seat. Course the bar tender had a confused look on his face.

"What is that animal doing in here?" the worker asked.

"Can you really blame animal or people from trying to get out of harms way?" Kira replied, she flashed a smile. "Don't worry about it." she added, using her allurist ways to calm the man. He strolled off to clean up the wet floor.

Kira sighed, the fake smile faded quickly, "Hum..." she started, getting back on track. "Are you alright?" she asked the man, "My name is Kira.." she said. She would have offered a drink to those around her but that would have been a useless gesture she was sure.

Re: Black Thursday Group 17

Post by Wolffyn »

Wolffyn looked up with rolling eyes, projecting boredom as Kira spoke. Not out of disrespect for her kinswoman but out of annoyance at herself for having been unsettled enough to have engaged in any kind of small talk at all. Wolffyn seldom spoke any more words than were absolute necessity, and even then only to a select few. Her words upon her entrance to the bar had been trivial and unnecessary in retrospect, and her already foul mood intensified. So in other words; Same ****, different day.

Somewhere buried down deep inside the volatile redhead, a young girl named Gwynn Morgan struggled not to panic as the aftershocks continued to shake the world around her at unexpected intervals. But the shadow that was known as Wolffyn, knew none of that. Her long lost memories of who she had been and who she had tried to be, were so long buried now that the petite woman hardly even bothered to pretend to give a **** anymore.

Yet she was still always alert, and the natural born hunter watched as the other occupant of the room besides herself and her kinswoman as he did some projecting of his own. No Telepath, nor any fan of the breed, Wolffyn however had the eye of a predator and was alert to how the other as yet unknown vampire seemed to be fairly excitable, maybe perhaps even distressed at the situation.

Perhaps he was young and inexperienced and still silly enough to care... but the small Shadow didn't give a ****. Her nostrils flared slightly at his scent. A scent that was familiar and her mind knew immediately why that was and filed it away. After that, the male vampire was mostly forgotten. For the moment. And yet as ever... the redhead had eyes in the back of her head.

The Vampiressi drew in a deep breath of completely unneeded air before she sighed and groaned at the same time, checking out her ruined trousers with a scowl. The wound to her leg was no loner bleeding but throbbing persistently, as if there was still a pulse in the shadows' veins.

The wound to her thigh actually looked alright but Wolffyn wasn't paying it any mind, regardless. She was no clothes horse; the small female only had two pair of pants she liked to hunt in. And most of her other clothes had been gifts and the redhead only wore them out of obligation. So the damage to the garment she did like was the only thing Wolffyn was really concerned about. But what was done was done, it was just that so much of her leg was showing... it was as if her jeans had only one leg at all. Quickly it was deemed 'no longer worth her attention', and Wolffyn started to inventory the occupants and contents of the room.

And as if on cue, the other creature of the night in attendance chose that moment to get acquainted. The Human behind the bar had been drooling over the blonde Allurist the whole time Wolffyn had been there, so she took a defensive stance between her fellow Misfit and the other vampire at first, preferring to have the besotted human male behind them.

At the same moment an otter arrived. And not just any otter, Wolffyn knew this one as Luffy. Even though the only time she had seen Wafa's childe in his animalistic state.... she had drop kicked him like a football across the Lunar Lake Estates. She was pretty sure there were no hard feelings...

The male vampire that had just the two legs had asked how everyone was, and yet the redhead didn't get the sense that he really cared. And so he was ignored. Wolffyn's attention was on the blonde, as Kira fussed over Luffy.
Until a stocky bar-back caught her eye that had escaped the redhead's notice before and she then went closer to the Allurist, just as Kira asked Spade how he was, to whisper her idea to her...

That if Luffy didn't have his clothes on him that the young human male who had just wandered all alone into the stockroom looked to be just about the perfect size to replace them.

The chunk of metal was removed from Luffy’s shoulder. He shook his head as Kira spoke in his head. When she walked off to the bar, he scratched behind his ear before climbing up an empty bar stool and onto the bar itself. Luffy shuffled out from under the bag on his back. He rolled it over and grabbed the zipper in his teeth and pulled it open. The inside of the dark blue duffle contained an axe, sword, assault rifle, pistol, and a small black leather iPad case. He ducked his head inside and began searching around it. He pulled out the small black case and set it down next to the bag before zipping it up again.

Luffy flipped open the leather case to expose the iPad. He pressed on the button with his paw and the device glowed to life. Luffy sat down and began tapping on the screen. He ignored the looks from the frightened people that huddled together. He again scratched at an itch at his ear as he looked down at the screen again. He began tapping at the screen with his paws a second and a cartoon like voice emanated from the device.

“Yo, thanks for getting the rebar out of my shoulder. One hell of a storm going on out there. Also, pretty sure I lost my crown.”

He was standing in the center of the pub with his arms out as if he were about to share his plan, though it was easy to confuse him trying to hit on them while using a line Joey from Friends perfected. He just kind of hung his head in deep thought. They're vampires, and in order to keep them a secret at least for a while longer, they can not go out and help. Too much to lose by doing so. Though those screams were haunting his every second while standing there, he wasn't about to do anything. His arms went back to his sides which caused a bit of a wince, pain lingering from being manhandled by an earth quake. His clothes still soaked from hitting the flooded ground multiple times. So, perhaps it was the pain plus the shock of a storm coming in and raping the city that had him wanting to rush to save his community.

After a moment of people staring at him, and asking him if he's okay, and an otter talking. Which, he really thought was him knocking his head off the ground. He didn't know what to say anymore. Nor what to do. So he just looked at his group a moment, the throbbing sensation through out his torso reminding him that none of this is fair to anyone. He finally just nodded to Kira, though he looked like he was tumbling in a washing machine for an hour. "Yeah." he replied to her question, turning his head to glance out the window at the sound of more rubble falling from the destroyed buildings. "New York doesn't have a quake going on, but in November they had a blizzard that killed thirteen people. National Guard had to dig the city of Buffalo out." he spoke in response to Kira's weather reference.

He made his way to Kira and locked his blue gaze with her own. It's what he did when he wanted someone's attention. "Is it crazy of me to want to go out there and help them?" he asked, confused. The wounds on his body clearly made it obvious that he was struggling with his thoughts. Pain could easily be talking. So could the fact that a month ago, he was a human gangster in the slums. He still felt the love for his community. Spade just grabbed another cigarette, the paper was brown after being wet and drying off in the warmth of the pub. He lit it without thinking and just took a long pull from the paper. The smoke leaving his nostrils and mouth just kind of provided a blanket of security for him. It was all he could do to stop himself from charging the storm.
It is not violence that sets man apart.

Re: Black Thursday Group 17

Kira raised an eyebrow when the redhead took to protecting her from the approaching male. If Reggie was here, he most likely would have been in a foul mood and would have told all males to stay the hell away. Which was why she was glad he wasn't here. She used her powers to get what she wanted, it wasn't her fault that they were male and get the wrong idea in their head. Of course she could see part of the reason she had an engagement ring now was so he could fully claim her, not that she minded that, she did it to him in return with a ring.

Then she realized she hadn't told her fellow Misfits about being engaged. It was on her to do list, since David was MIA, she shouldn't have to worry about him being an *** about it. She blinked, now was not the time about things she needed to tell people.

She came back fully to what was going on when Wolffyn told her that there was a bar worker who Luffy could use his clothes. Her green eyes trailed over to the man, she had never actually met Luffy, knew very little about him other than having a Viking beard and had an otter form.

She looked to the otter who instead of getting clothes, had an ipad. As the otter started to type on the screen, Kira couldn't help but put a hand over her face. She could see how this could be a little strange, not little, very. They were getting far more attention now which made Kira uneasy.

Kira forced a smile, using her powers again to sway people to look the other way. "He's quite a trained pet, isn't he. He isn't really typing anything though, the tablet is making stuff up." she said. Why would an otter be talking about a crown right, that was just crazy.

Finally she focused on the man who had came over with the lame pick up line. "Mother Nature just reminding us who is in charge. No matter where one lives, there will always be some kind of bad weather." she said, "Though this is a bit much.." she said, was it just really bad luck or was there something more going on. She lowered her voice, "I don't know what kind of abilities the fae have but what if they are trying to wipe Harper Rock out, humans and vampires alike...then nature could take control again.." it would be a good plan, one she couldn't really blame them for. She enjoyed nature but killing off people, innocent people anyway, was not forgivable.

She looked at the man again, so far Kira's name was the only one given and this man's name was still a mystery. She was surprised by what he said however. "No, it is not wrong." she replied, "Glad there are more who haven't lost their humanity.." she added. Sure she killed people but only those who were bad, she didn't like innocent people suffering.

She frowned when he decided to light up, growling slightly. Though some kept their bad habits. She didn't like the smell of it. Her eyes trailed off, spotting a spirit. Freshly dead by the looks of it as they tried to get someone's attention, which was Kira's mistake for looking. The spirit came right over, Kira quickly averted her gaze but it was too late as they went into 20 questions of if she could see them.

"I'll...help. I can keep them from thinking too much into if they see super strength or whatever." Kira said, ignoring the spirit. "But I might need some more power.."

"Luffy, I don't know how much use an otter is going to be." Kira said, "So if you want to use the buff guy's clothes, I'll make it easier for you." There was two easy ways to regain power. Nom on a spirit, which she was going to feel bad about doing. And that was spilling her blood, which she would need to feed. So that's where Mr. Buff guy was going to come in. She jumped down from her seat and headed to the back room where the guy had went to. It didn't take much to effort to drain him but leave him alive, sealing the wound, he looked like was just sleeping.

"Sorry.." Kira muttered as she also used the spirit. She wondered what happened to them afterwards. She hoped they moved on. She returned to the main area and took her seat again, crossing her arms. She wasn't sure what powers would be useful but she needed to be prepared.
