With Bancroft now in power as Mayor of the city, changes are quickly coming into effect.
Gun Control / Firearm Crime (Immediate change)
Bancroft had promised near the start of his campaign to try to crack down on gun crime, and bring in measures that will ensure gangland crime seldom bleeds over into more populated areas, and it seems that he is keeping good on his word. Though in a roleplay sense, these changes will be gradual, they have already begun in game.
- Increased security in certain public buildings.
- Slightly better trained police (more chance to spot and hit criminals).
- Some extra cops on the streets to enforce the gun control measures.
- Fighting in a public place is more likely to get you spotted, and boosts your police notoriety by much more.
Tax on Big Business (Immediate change)
Bancroft talked about introducing a temporary big business tax in order to help with reparations and security in the city, and again, he's making good on his word.
- Between $100-$200 less earnings per day for businesses earning over $2500.
Crackdown on Narcotics Trade (Eventual change)
Bancroft blames a lot of the city's problems on the rise of organised crime and the illegal narcotics business. As such, there will be operations put into place to bring the fight to the criminals. A side-story on this note will be forthcoming some time early next year.
Further Consequences (Eventual, main story related)
The full consequences of allowing the thrall of an unknown vampire yo get into power are yet to be felt. How this plays out will depend on who Bancroft's master is, what he wants, and if he has the power to see his designs to fruition. This consequence will be seen in a later chapter, where it will play a major part.
