Hacking w/ SysAccess

Post by Temperance Avila »

Sysaccess v6
Security level 21
Awesome!

File Total: $2638
Not cool!....I would have made a profit selling the script I spent 21 days + some codes making.

Any advice for next time?

NOT intended to sound snarky at all, but yeah, next time just sell the thing. That's what I plan to do with any that I make.

The randomness is just too much. You don't get to choose which hack to apply it to, it just goes on the next one even if it's terrible.

I can see people buying up a bunch of these to amp up several hacks in a row and break the Leaderboard records, or for a forum competition, but they don't seem like they're consistently profitable in the least. A lottery ticket at best.

they raise sec level, not dollar value, that still follows the generic randomness

I believe the mid-level SysAccess scripts are worth it, but not the higher ones unless you're trying to break records or get extra EXP.

By midlevel, do you mean SysAccess 4's?

It depends how cheaply you can produce them for. I was talking lower level, though. But that's based on calculations I did a long time ago.

Since you're here, does the Skill attribute have any effect on hacking? or is it JUST Intel and Hacking? What exactly does Skill do?

Skill used to help with hacking, but we decided that it already helps a little bit with too many other skills, which are far more skill-based. Hacking, we decided, takes more mental ability than hand-eye-coordination, as just about anyone can learn to type pretty fast anyway. This change was announced, but it was a while ago.

Willpower is the other stat that's now used for hackers, but only programming scripts. For a hacker who doesn't program scripts, they only need hacking and intelligence.
