Done being a recluse (OPEN)

Post by Klara »

Klara slid her black pea coat on and slipped out the door of her apartment. She had no particular place to be or destination in mind, just to walk and clear her head. The night was cool as the stars shone brightly against the midnight sky. Very few humans were out this time of night but she was able to relieve her hunger without being noticed.

Sliding her hands into the pocket of her pea coat, she no longer watched or cared where she was going. Klara kept walking until a deep voice came out of the shadows, “What’s a pretty little piece like you doing around here?” Instantly her hand went to the dagger she always kept in reach wishing she had brought her sword with her cursing herself for such a stupid mistake. She turned to him as she assessed him realizing he was only a human and not a hunter and relaxed killing him quickly as she drained all his blood from his body. The look of horror etched on his face as he realized what was happening made her smile this night. She dumped his body into a trash bin and moved on.

Klara replayed the past few years in her mind and wondered when she had become a recluse. She had been excited to be here. Her father knew many people and she looked forward to making friends but instead he made her work while he socialized. She had made friends along the way but of late, she had been gone for so long that some had left the city and some had forgotten they were even friends. She determined things were going to change. She would force herself out of the house.

Looking up she noticed a bar and figured it was time to try. She entered the place, noticing it was a lot nicer on the inside than it appeared on the outside. She looked around seeing a few patrons, some in groups, and others by themselves. She went to the bar and ordered a beer; one that came in a very dark bottle so others could not see if was disappearing. She sat down as a house band took the stage and began to play several cover songs. She pretended to sip at the beer as she looked around wondering who might be the most approachable.
