There was amusement that danced about in her eyes at his words. Her laugh though, had been short lived. The man she called Johnathan had served her faithfully ever since she took over the club, but there were times she knew he found it hard to serve her simply because he knew what she was. At least he hadn't taken too long in retrieving the drinks for her guest and well, now, employee. “He is a good man despite being grouchy with me from time to time. He..hasn't had it easy with..working with me.” Johnathan was weary of her on most nights, overly cautious in how he handled his business with her. He knew not to tell a soul, unless she said it was okay to do so, which wasn't very often. Her expressions changed as often as her thoughts did but no matter what, she always found herself smiling a bit when she turned her attention back to Sony.

Her gaze followed his hand as he set his drink back down and as soon as there was the sound of the glass making contact with the table she looked back up at his face. It was then, that she realized she had been holding her breath, so to say, while waiting for his answer to her question. Finally! A human that didn't just go for the cliché answer she had been expecting. It was definitely something that made her happy, more so than she was prepared to show. It was fairly easy for her to maintain her composure while listening to him talk, or at least it was until he mentioned that silly little song. Jez simply couldn't help herself, she ended up laughing along with him. She heaved a soft almost content sigh once her small fit of laughter ended. Oh he was sounding more and more perfect by the moment and temptation was being a cruel ***** to her the longer they sat there chit chatting.

She looked around simply to stop herself from staring at him. Any sort of social situation was awkward for her or perhaps she just made them awkward, whatever the reason she didn't want to freak him out by staring at him. It wasn't until then that she realized exactly how dull and boring the room was to be in all the time. Such plain walls and flooring. She would definitely have to fix that at some point soon. A thought crossed her mind. The little goth woman could turn the room in to her new office and turn the old one in to something else. Brilliant idea! She would have to remember to inform Johnathan of her plan so that he could then remind her of it at some point.

Ah yes, he turned her question back around on her. She had a feeling that he would. There were a few moments of silence as she thought over her answer. The woman could lie or she could tell the truth. If she lied, what would she say? If she told the truth, would it scare him once he realized she wasn't playing? The lie would be the best choice for her to go with, but she did have a bit of a reputation for not doing what was best, like all of those times she killed the cops just to piss off the jackasses that were hell bent on keeping their existence a secret. Plus, she did enjoy the attention a bit. Being hunted was actually a form of fun for her. Oh! Back to his question she went. Jez scratched at a spot on the back of her neck before smiling at him. “It's what I am. I don't look this way for the attention, though as a human I did, but even then it's how I had seen myself.” Now the fun part, waiting to see if he believed it or just took it as her being a bit batty.

A couple of the bartenders stayed fairly close to where Markus and the rest of them were. They always listened out for anything that might cause their employer problems. Sure, they carried about their normal duties but every so often one of them would glance over at the group, just to keep an eye on them. All they heard though was the normal stuff, nothing new. It was more than enough to cause them to go back to actually doing their normal work fully since there was nothing for them to worry about with the group.

Her weight shifted about in the seat, “Johnathan,” she called out to him again, no doubt her constantly doing that was getting on his nerves, “get me a fresh drink please.” As usual he said nothing and just wandered off to go get her that fresh drink. She was so damn picky at times. If the drink wasn't just right then she wouldn't even touch the damn thing. A small chuckle came from her, “Eventually he'll get tired of fetching me drinks and yell at me like he usually does after a while, telling me to get up and get my own damn drink.” Carrying on with mindless babble was just her way of trying to fill the silence with some sort of noise.

“As I said, it is what I am.” Her gaze went down to the table for a moment while she chewed on her bottom lip. The wheels constantly turning as she tried to think of ways to continue filling the silence with some sort of noise, even if it was just her voice putting an abrupt end to the annoying silence. “I didn't feel like myself until I came here and ended up becoming this all because someone,” she paused and gave a small shudder at the memory, “shot me and left me to die. I didn't end up in the hospital to be treated for the injury. A man that has abandoned me, in a way, was responsible for saving my life.”

She reached across the table, oddly no shadow was cast upon the surface. The woman touched his hand, lightly, like the caress of a feather. “You say that this is how you see yourself, how you feel most comfortable...” It took her a little bit to be able to gather her thoughts and to form the rest of what she had to say correctly in her head. “I can make it a reality for you. You won't have to pretend to be this anymore. All you have to do is just tell me what you want, if this is what you want, and I can make it a reality for you.” Without any warning Johnathan came barging back in to the room with her drink. He startled her, causing her to jump and almost immediately she picked up Sony's glass of water and threw it at Johnathan, barely missing his head. “Don't do that to me!” All he did was smirk and set her glass down on the table before walking out of the room, leaving her grumbling to herself.

“Oh, don’t be so ******* melodramatic Mike” Leo said first. “The world has changed over the past few years, these rumors about vampires and zombies and **** had to have come from somewhere. It has to be true, especially with how hush hush the government is being about what really happened in the quarantine zone.”

“Yeah, and don’t forget about the Mausoleum being cordoned off because of the supposed outbreak. People have heard what sounds like fighting, constant gunshots, coming from both ends of the city,” Amber added after Leo finished.
~~~~~
Sony had been stunned into silence by her revelation, her confession even, of her being a vampire. He sat there staring at her in silence, at least he was silent. He heard every word she said, trying to figure out if she was going to kill him, feed on him, or just didn’t give a **** about who she told, about who knew. Or maybe she was just crazy, maybe the gunshot she was talking about had just done the woman before him some brain damage, and left her confused? Of course all his questions were quickly sent packing when she reached out towards him, the fact she cast no shadow causing his eyes to widen when the movement had caught his attention and he looked down.
~~~~~
“******* batty *** nutjobs. No ******* way is there things like vampires, or any other ******** crap like that!” Mike exclaimed, though in a hushed voice still, so as not to gather any unwanted attention to their conversation. “Nope, no way. I’m not buying it, not for one moment” he added in a more calm voice. However, Markus had caught part of what they were talking about from the bar after noticing the staff kept looking over at them discreetly. He got up from his barstool and joined them. “We’re being watched you three. I don’t know what all you’ve been saying, but it’s caught the attention of the guys behind the bar. Don’t think they noticed I saw them watching you” Markus said as he sat down.
~~~~~
Johnathan left them alone after the glass of water narrowly missed him. The crashing and shattering snapped Son out of his silence. “It’s what you are?” Sony asked shocked, finally. It was not what he had expected at all, and shock was not all that he was experiencing. He was suddenly afraid, afraid and excited all at once. “Wait, what? You want to make me like you? You want to turn me in to a vampire?” He reached up to run his hands through his hair as he tried to process all of this, knocking his hat to the floor in the process. His instinct reaction was to reach down and pick it back up, but he didn’t, not wanting to take his eyes off her, worried that if he even so much as blinked something bad would happen to him. If something was going to happen he wanted to make sure he at least saw it coming. “What about the others? You going to make them the same offer you just made me? Or is it only me you want?” Then he asked himself, if she only wanted him, why him? Why any of them for that matter.
~~~~~
Mike shook his head “oh great, first deluded, now paranoid. They aren’t watching us Markus. They might have looked over, probably curious, as anyone would be. What, you think she’s a vampire too and they are her familiars or ghouls or some **** like that, spying on us to make sure we aren’t a threat to her?” Leo snorted a chortle “ghouls? For someone who doesn’t believe in vampires, you sure do seem to know a thing or two about them.” Mike glared at Leo “oh don’t be so ******* naïve Leo. You don’t have to believe in something to read about it. Did you forget I played VtM back in High School? And then in college too?” Mike shook his head, Leo and Amber sharing a knowing grin at having riled Mike on the matter. Markus, however, narrowed his eyes at the three of them, thoughts whirling around inside his mind about the situation.
~~~~~
“Let’s say you’re telling the truth and I say yes,” Sony added on to his questions before she had a chance to answer them yet “what would we have to do? Do I have to die first? Or is it like the old Dracula movies, having to drink your blood three nights in a row, or something like that?” It was at this point Sony realized he was ready to say yes, that he was entertaining the idea of becoming a vampire. He half expected her to come out with the classic Lestat line from the movie “I’m going to give you the choice I never had” and then hoped that she couldn’t read his mind. All of a sudden the song Call Me Maybe sprang to mind, and his mind changed the lyrics on him, which he quietly said out loud, “I just met you, and this is crazy. I’m a vampire, be my vamp baby,” though afterwards was sure she would have heard every word anyway. He didn’t care, it amused him and kept him from freaking out completely and bolting out the door, or at least attempting too before he no doubt super fast speed allowed her to get to him before he even took two steps away from the chair.
~~~~~
The smashing of the glass and the yelling Jezebel did at Johnathan didn’t go unnoticed by the four. They all looked over at where they had just come from, a worried expression on all of their faces. Leo stood up “I’m going to go see if everything is okay. You guys staying or coming with?” Mike stood up “I’ll join you mate.” For some reason, Leo had expected Amber to be the one to volunteer, not Mike, though he could not put his finger on why. The two made their way back to the door that led to the room where they had left Sony, Johnathan standing outside still looking rather smug with himself. After a short exchange they had asked about the noise and he had told them that he was the one she had yelled at and why, which satisfied them both and they went back to the others.
