It's all in the first post of the Chapter 3 thread in ooc roleplay planning. Some of your characters might already be aware (IC) that X candidate is a thrall, Y is a demi-fae, and Z is backed by criminals. But there's a lot more to find out about them. While some of these things might be revealed via in-game rumours, rare dirt to dig up and so forth, we're going to leave some of these secrets open to be found via roleplay. So, if you're curious about a specific detail regarding a candidate's motivations or how they might change the shape of the story and the game, a roleplay impact thread could be used to get me to reveal a certain specific secret about them.

For me - I need more info than I have at the moment to even contemplate an impact thread.Psyche wrote:Looks like we need to start with some impact threading then. We have until November after all. And he stated larger pieces of info can be found through those rp.
However, it may also be the fact that it's politics that's stifling my creativity. To me; looking at the options, thinking about politicians, and thinking about previous chapters - I'm not seeing a good outcome from any of them. So I'm not feeling too inclined to try anything with this chapter tbh.

Well we know now that we can learn more information from the Developers if we do create some impact threads. We have a minimum of three options for chapter outcomes. We have until November. That is longer than last chapter gave us but it is still not that far away.
While I can see why you may wish to stand back for now to see what happens, or from a sense of frustration? You have it in you to think outside the box. You have shown that. Most of the players here have. So get nosy, ic. Poke around and dig things up. I'm not sure what I will do myself, with any of mine. But by not doing anything? Decisions still get made... they will just made FOR you. Not BY you.

Not in my experience. And here in the states, no one has the balls to vote for a third party and open up future options by getting them the percentile they need to get the matched funding next election so, so it's a choice between two evils most of the time and with no clues or ways to change the outcome much at all unless you are in the 'good old boys club'. And I will shut up now. O.O

Sing it, sister! I've voted Independent for the last 4 Prez elections and see no reason to stop now.Alexandrea wrote:Not in my experience. Re: Lugosi for Mayor?
The lack of information about the candidates was partly due to the fact that the other information isn't pertinent to the chapter outcomes. But also, I didn't want to make it all about politics. I wanted it to be simple enough for somebody who isn't into politics to be able to get a general idea of the chapter's possible outcomes, and to be invested based on those assessments.
The chapter outcomes won't be as unpredictable as they have been before. It makes it more fun to fight for something when you're reasonably sure what the end result will be. Moreover, more pertinent details about the candidates, their motivations, and the people backing them will be revealed over the following few months. This will happen mostly due to impact threads, but partly just with news reports and secret information you'll be able to uncover (I liked the suggestion about making the "dirt" you can dig up give little pieces of the puzzle, as it'd encourage people to work together to figure out what's going on).
I know there's a lack of wiki information and info on stuff like NPC personalities. I'll try to improve that a lot before the end of beta. As far as meeting important NPCs in roleplay goes, that would involve people roleplaying them, and when that happens it can get a bit messy OOC. However, I'll speak more on that soon.
