[Canada Day 2014] Leiren/Ishani-Snow

Post by Leiren »

Leiren was almost excited for the festivities of Canada Day. While it wasn't the same, since she didn't have anyone to spend the holiday with, it was still a holiday and the carnival like attractions that came out were at least something to do and see. Plus there would be fireworks and Leiren loved fireworks. The bright lights and bangs in the sky that you could see for miles put a smile on her face which was rather rare. Wolf, her estranged partner, and Amaranthia, her very dead sire, where the only other things and it was obvious that wasn't going to happen any time soon.

At least this meant that she'd get out of her daily routine of hack, ********, steal, make things, repeat. The life style was boring even to her, it was like being on autopilot, a robot with no issue just drifting through tasks with no mind of other things. Truly a horrible lifestyle even for her in her depression. This was an excuse to paint her face, put on a nice dress, and walk amongst the people of the city who all came out. She did secretly hope to see someone she could at least recognize but then again, if she did, it would somehow likely be Wolf and she simply wasn't ready for that conversation again yet. Even though the gem on her finger had been removed the bond wasn't broken and that was another one of those painful things she'd have to deal with that was better left buried.

Ishani-Snow's grandfather was business today, most likely with Alexandra now that he had been made into something known as a thrall to many vampires, she had no idea what that really meant other than he seemed to really like Alexandra. Which was funny to the litter girl because he hadn't been pleased when she had gotten Baby as a birthday gift... and Baby had been in the bathroom. Still it allowed her another hour of outside time, so instead of 9pm she was allowed to be out until 10 most nights. This pleased her greatly. It meant she was able to do more of the things she liked to do... which was mainly stealing and fighting old looking demons, that people called ancient zombies.

Grabbing her bag of goodies which includes a new ipad thing, she hadn't really figured out yet, a cellphone she had stolen from some guy, that was now a dead guy, with his body down in the sewers for the rats to eat, if rats ate them, she skip out of the apartment. Not that her grandmother was pleased, she tried to get her to come back inside but then one of grandmother's friends for cards had appeared and she began to fuss over her instead of trying to get her back inside.

Ishani-Snow was pretty sure the tree fairy had done something to her as well but it just wasn't as strong as whatever had resulted in her grandfather's change,.Just meant that she was going to have to do it herself, well when she could figure out how or what the Tree fairy did. After all if the Tree Fairy could do it she had no doubt that she could do it too.

She smiled at the old lady another one of her grandmother's friends as she got off the elevator, "Why hello Snow darling. It's a bit late for you to be out isn't it dearie?”

"Grandfather said it was alright.”

"Did he now... might need to have a talk with him... it's not safe”

She smiled warmly at her as she walked up to her taken her hand "I know how to keep myself safe"

The old woman smiled down at her. "Oh? Is that so?”

“'Yes”

"and how do you keep yourself safe?”

She wouldn't help but beam, “like this” her fangs descended as she sank them into the woman's wrist, draining her of some blood. As she pulled away she stared at the glazed look on the woman before pushing her down the hall. She might wander, she watched them wander sometimes but at least someone would find her. With that she hopped into the elevator and hit the button. She would have to tell Grandfather she fed so he could make sure it was taken care of later when she got home.

Leiren, almost begrudgingly, dressed herself for the events. It was a simple white and red dress that she thought looked very 'Canadian Flag' and accompanied the outfit with a bag and shoes that had little maple leaves on them. She didn't typically carry cash around, but she wasn't sure if vendors would take her card so for tonight at least she did. She'd had to make a quick stop at the underground markets, which really were just typical shops with back dealings as far as she could see, to sell off some 'junk' items that people who actually had lives could use. Traps and the like. She'd also brought along her set of lock-picks just in case there was a good opportunity.

Setting her feet in motion she moved out the door and across the top of her boat, which she'd been staying at as to stay as under the radar as possible, through the dock and out into the early nights air. It was refreshing but suffocating in that same stale taste of utter defeat in this city at every turn. She pushed those types of thoughts out of her mind and made her way to the celebration, forcing a smile upon her face as she crossed paths with humans. There were people everywhere and it wasn't likely that she'd get out of the night without creeping people out if she didn't at least try to be happy about the fireworks and festivities.

The smell of the food made her stomach turn with the thought that she couldn't ever taste it again, her desire for just a simple piece of funnel cake or a caramel apple was enough to make anyone go into a horrible depression without being able too. She could almost feel tears in her eyes just because of that one simple thing. Leiren, unlike a lot of vampires it seemed, wished she'd never been sired at all. It was like a curse that corrupted your life and screwed you up six ways from Sunday.

Practically dragging her feet by the carts of food she spotted a little shop with trinkets. It wasn't anywhere near as good as being able to eat, but she'd buy something none-the-less just to help out the local economy. Even if it never made it home with her that didn't really matter. She'd just hand them money, but that wouldn't typically go over well. There were tears and a scene and she didn't want to deal with that. So instead now she just shopped and accumulated random **** she had no use for and no one to give it away too.

Ishani-Snow had made her way towards the celebrations, it seemed there were tons of people flooding Wickbridge, everywhere she looked it was red and white, with maple leafs dangling about like it alone could be a tree. Her eyes wandered towards the food, food that she used to be able to eat without getting sick, and without having to hide it from her grandparents. Then there was tents with face painting. A tent that was for grown ups only. Those coming out of that tent didn't smell so great. Away from the food and drink there were places to shop, it was almost as if the idea was to lead the people who were drinking right into shopping for stupid things like fans with a maple leaf that hardly cost the price they were selling them for.

She watched as people laughed, while buying this or that and true to her nature, Ishani-Snow help relieved them of some of their money. The few times she thought they would say something they seemed to not even notice her, maybe due to her height. She was small for her age...

Soon Ishani-Snow was looking for her next target. So far the stuff she had gathered she highly doubted the Tree Fairy would be able to use at all and so most of it she would simply sell off. That was how Ishani-Snow did things. All pens were saved for one person, she tried to save bracelets for Auntie Kitty but she was hard to find. Everyone else she blessed with her ever so wonderful personality. By ordering them to do this or that... didn't always work but it didn't stop her from trying.

Her eyes caught sight of a lady who seemed more out on her own, alone perhaps, or stood up. Her smile seemed sad to her but as soon as she thought her smile was sad, her eyes onto her spending habits.

This woman bought things that didn't even seem to really be into and that made her want to 'help' the woman all the more. With a grin as she made her way towards the woman, choosing to following slightly behind a group of people so she wouldn't be seen or noticed or if she was, this woman would just think that she belonged with these adults. As they made her way to the booth to buy things, she made her way to the woman's bag, slipping her hand inside in hopes of taking what the woman was so foolishly spending on junk, like everyone else here was doing.

Leiren riffled through a few more things before she stepped up to the line to pay for it. She almost didn't notice the hand in her purse, but that tell-tale quick fingers of a thief weren't quite fast enough. She pushed her thoughts into the others mind and tisked. "It's not nice to steal from one of your own kind," leir said unenthusiastically. It wasn't shocking that a thief would try to pick her pockets, really, but she didn't like it. Even if she herself was known to do it from time to time. "Oh, your a Habren kid." Leir turned to look at the thief and was slightly surprised when she looked down at what had to be a child. A REAL child. There was a look of disbelief that went across her face and her eyes narrowed. Habren had turned a real honest to god child into this ******* life? And what, Mircea had let her? She'd never been more disgusted with that women, and the line that she herself had come from, but the look on her face was more one of heartbroken. How anyone could ever do this to a young person was mind-boggling. Ripping away from her the chance to ever grow up, to experience things that were adult, to eat ******* funnel cake ever again.

As she tried to gather her thoughts she stared at the child, her eyes just wandering as her mind processed this. She corrected her earlier statement in her head and pursed her lips. 'Apparently, a child. Guess your mommy must be compensating for her lack of being able to give birth, huh?' But to the girl she simply said "If you need something go ask your mommy. I'm sure she'll have lots of treats for you."

Ishani-Snow was no stranger to the way one reacted to her. Truth be told most didn't know the story and didn't bother to ask why or how she was turned, not that she would believe such things she simply believed her true powers had awoken. When it came down to it, she had bitten Habren, she had been weak, and she had seen Blood Thieves do it, and thought to help her when she had done it. Sure she had helped, but she had gone on with her life as though nothing had really hanged and mainly because in her head, it hadn't.

Pulling her hand free from the woman's bag she began to size the woman up. Her little foot tapping as she did so. "First off old lady, My mommy is dead, my daddy had her killed. She's with God now, where she belongs.”

Anyone who knew Ishani-Snow would know in her mind God was evil, while Satan was the good guy. Yet the child didn't bother to go into further details about what had happened, besides it wasn't her biological father that had killed her it had been Odin and she of course had no idea who had been the true killer of her mother either. She had only heard her mother's screams and begging and cries... much as she had done for food hours prior to her mother's dead.

"Besides what's the point in asking when you can just take it” she motioned to the people who were drinking in the tent, "They're clearly wanting it to happen.'

"I'm going to guess you think I mean your real mommy, not the person that turned you." Leir spoke into the others mind, mostly to be sure they weren't overheard. Leiren was for the masquerade of the city, she just didn't like deaths over it unless it was absolutely unavoidable, and generally that wasn't the case as far as she could see. The girl though, this girl, seemed to scream 'violation omg something is wrong here what the ****' but it wasn't like she could be made human again, so she'd have to live her life locked in a childs body for what could be years to centuries. This really did seem like the stupidest idea she'd seen a vampire have, taking the cake was putting it mildly when she was even thinking 'maybe Ty should kill it'. "Habren, your sire, might as well be the equivalent of your mother, since you are a child," leir continued her thoughts to the little kid.

Aloud she spoke with a quiet voice, her words falling from her lips in a partial ramble like they usually did. "People's choices are not yours to judge and taking from them when they have nothing already is just heartless. You may get a quick gain of a few bucks, but you rip away from their lives what could be their only enjoyment for the rest of the year. Let them be stupid and have their fun. If they pass out in the streets, though, then they deserve to get robbed." She tilted her head at the obviously falling-down-drunk man that was half passed out on the curb. "Some people take fun a bit too far and if you don't take it, some other person would anyway." She turned back to her spot in line and paid for her trinket, pushing it into her purse, before moving out of the way for the rest of customers in the shop who may buy something.

"Some people can't be helped and some can not ever crawl out because others keep them down. Know the difference, kiddo, and pick the right targets."

Ishani-Snow was getting rather tired of the mind speaking, something she tended to only allow her Aunt Kitty do for long periods of time but she for the time period was putting up with it even if she was glaring each times ti happened.

“I wasn't bitten by her, I bit her instead that's what you do when you are really hurt, duh,” She would of told this woman if she liked her or even if she knew her better about Nimmy and how she had seen him bite people when really hurt to heal himself. It was different than with her old powers, she had healed the wound she had, but Nimmy could replace all the blood and she couldn’t do that so she did what Nimmy did when he lost a lot of blood, she healed herself by drinking Habren's blood.

“So my 'sire” didn't mean to make me more powerful.” she said quoting the word sire with her fingers, something she had learned from watching tv but still had not perfected yet this new truly using it. and even if she had bitten me, she wouldn't be my mommy or even close to being my mommy. I'm not some little kid who needs to run around and pretend someone loves me.” she said crossing her arms in front of her chest. “I'm not like those sad grown ups trying to be all babies by callings some lady my mommy or daddy.”

As the woman spoke out load this time, she was pleased greatly by it, though she tried to not let it show. Her eyes trailed towards the person and then returned back to her, “If they were really smart they wouldn't paying these prices for something to drink that makes them stupider.” she didn't really get the idea of being drunk, all she really knew was that the prices for the stuff here was really high, and thus anyone who bought something here food, drink and in most cases trinkets weren't exactly smart in the first place.

As she moved away she followed, not fully sure why she was doing so may be due to the fact that this woman was talking to her even if it was mostly in her head, where most hadn't been tonight. “So you tell me what is so smart about paying these prices. I've been to 99 cent stores, you can get stuff like some of the stuff that lady was selling. “

The woman tilted her head and glanced down at the young one before she turned her head to look at the crowds of people. She thought about her question for a long moment before she shrugged her shoulders. "If you buy what your own neighbors produce you keep the wealth within your one economy, rather then say buying the same product for half the price when it comes from some company across the county or even the world." She wasn't sure how she could justify that any more then she already had, but she also wasn't sure how much this little girl understood about economics already. "Like say buying the statue from that lady. I may have paid too much for it, but I'm independently wealthy so I'm not concerned and it will help her put food on her table and possibly her kids into school uniforms and lots of things of the sort, all because I bought something from her that I could have gotten cheaper if it came from China."

She raised her brow slightly and pursed her lips together as if in thought. "I'm not sure why you bit Habren, but that was likely a smart and stupid decision on your part. You realize you will be trapped in that body for the rest of eternity and beyond, right? You will always be looked at like you are a tiny child who gets into trouble or is out past her bedtime, for the rest of your entire life. Not to mention that you won't ever get to know some of the greatest joys in life. But perhaps you don't grasp or don't care right now. I'd be interested to know how that works out for you," she mused. Yeah, she was rambling again, but she did that a lot when she thought out loud. "You won't even get to eat funnel cake. Or well any other sweets that you may like. Me? That's one of my personal favorites."

Ishansi-Snow didn't really care nor understand what the big deal about keeping things inside one's economic, to her it all seemed and sounded like a stupid reason to do it. If that woman was unable to feed herself and her kids then she should just get an actual job instead of trying to rip people off by charging more, or go and rob places. Still she played a good girl and accepted the answer with a shrug as she kept following after this lady who hadn't been that upset about her stealing as much as her age.

“So? Most grown ups are stupid, and blind. They don't even see what is going on in this city in the first place and those who do, aren't human anyways.” she grinned up at the woman, “I am told I am something known as a Mystic.” she didn't really understand it to be honest, when she was first told she thought she would be like Aunt Kitty and that worried her, she didn't know how to talk with her hands. Turned out she still wasn't sure what it meant to be like Aunt Kitty, she didn't have a cat and she didn't wear bells. What she did know for sure was that she would be able to change her face in time. She didn't bother to tell this woman though, afterall she seemed to know a lot more than she did about what was going to happen to her and what wasn't.

“Besides, I was dying. I was really hurt, and the Lady couldn't do it all” well truth be told she likely would have been able to do so but not in her mind and not at that time. “So I did what Nimmy does when he is hurt.” she had healed the wound herself, but the blood loss was still there and she knew deep down even if she didn't understand it that all the blood had been hers and she needed more. She had seen lots of people bite other people, “And Angel Wolfgang bites people too, so all sides do it. Angels, demons, humans, the fae.” she would of kept listening but her eyes caught a man on the ground and this lady seemed to approve of robbing from people on the ground. So she picked his pockets, a pocket watch and 15 dollars. She frowned at her finds and then offered the pocket watch to the lady. After all old people seemed to like them.
