Concept/Plot
- It’s Canada Day and Harper Rock is celebrating! These celebrations start early in the morning and go well into the night. This will leave plenty of day time and nighttime activities. Characters will be bumping into someone at random and these RPs will be the result of those interactions.
How it works
- If you are interested in joining the competition, you need to sign up here. If you want to sign up alts, please make note of which characters are yours so they don’t get paired up.
- If there are any players that you are uncomfortable writing with, PM me with this information so I can take that into consideration. Due to the nature of this competition, this should be used sparingly.
- At 11:59 PM Eastern time on June 27th, sign-ups will close. In the event that there is an odd number of participants, signups will remain open until the next person signs up to make the numbers even. It will be first come first serve at that point.
- Participants will have until 11:59 PM Eastern time on June 28th (so 24 hours) to PM me with any players they wish to not be paired with (again – this should be as minimal as possible considering the point of this competition is to be paired with someone random).
- On June 29th I will post up the RP pairs. This list will be final and in order to successfully be entered for the prize you will need to RP with your assigned partner.
- Starting 12:01 AM Eastern time on July 1st, participants can begin writing. This should give the pairs enough time to connect and brainstorm before actually sitting down and writing.
- Once your team has successfully completed the requirements, post back here so your thread can be checked and your names can be entered in for the prize.
Participation Rewards (For those that meet all the criteria listed below)
- 1000 RPP and 1000 IGC to ALL participants.
- 5 karma and an additional 1000 RPP will be given to each of the winning pair. This pair will be randomly selected by a dice roller.
Criteria
- All threads should be posted to the 'Path Hardcore Ruleset (IC)' board. The Hardcore Ruleset Guidelines may be ignored for the purpose of this competition.
- The title of your thread should start with [Canada Day 2014] and have both the character names.
- You must make a minimum of 10 posts each.
- Each post must be a minimum of 250 words long.
- Live transcripts will not be counted for the purposes of this competition. Traditional (long-form) roleplay only. And each character must meet the criteria to be included.
- You may enter with more than one character.
- Prize will be awarded to the account name drawn.
- You have until the end of the day July 15th (Midnight EST) to meet the requirements (though the RP itself does not have to come to necessarily be wrapped up).
- Your RP must be completed with the partner assigned to you.
- ETA: Your interactions must be with your assigned partner for all 10 posts.
- Exception 1: Also, please note the last bullet of the criteria which was added to clarify that you must interact with your assigned partner in order to qualify. This is for all 10 posts.
The only time this would be "waived" is if your partner went a full 24 hours without replying. In this instance you would be allowed to write another post with an NPC distracting you from the main event. After each subsequent 24 hour period you would be able to do the same. This will allow that player to be able to still meet their deadline of 10 posts. But you must wait a full 24 hours each time. - Exception1b: If there are any players who are unable to post and wish to allow their partner to forego the 24 hour wait limit to post ontop of their own posts, please send a PM to me and your partner stating that you wish to allow them to post consecutively.
If your partner is able to get their 10 posts of 250 words they will still be able to qualify for the rewards individually.
